  1. I would also like to add that I like the slow and cautious approach followed by surgeons like Dr. Lorenzo. No one can argue with the fact that it may take 3-4 surgeries to achieve one's goal via FUE, especially for NW5s and NW6s, however, this also allows the surgeon to fill in areas that need to be strengthened. We live in a society that demands instant gratification, but we fail to recognize that our image stays with us for life, so spending 6 months to a year longer to achieve our goals is really nothing in the long term. I am not against FUT, but I think its two main weaknesses are: 1. The scar that it leaves behind. Once it's there, it's there for life. 2. Poor growth with mega sessions. That is, if a patient has poor growth with 6000 grafts and he is a higher Norwood, what are his options? He is left with a bald head and a big scar. This is not the case with the patient and cautious approach of FUE, where FUE surgeons can go back and fill in areas with poor growth. Another benefit of FUE is that there is a way out. The patient can buzz down his hair to a number 1 or 2, even a 3. This is not an option with FUT. Surely some FUE clinics perform mega sessions. However, most renowned European Doctors, such as Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Mwamba, Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Lorenzo set a daily cap on the number of grafts that can be extracted. This approach keeps the patients well-being in mind.
  2. Hi Blake, Dr. Lorenzo does not charge 9.32 dollars per graft. Please see his pricing structure below. Dr. Lorenzo charges: 6 euros for the first 1000 grafts 4 euros for the second 1000 grafts 2.5 euros per graft thereafter Please note that his rates are fixed at 2.5 euros per graft once 2000 grafts have been extracted. Therefore, if a client goes back to the office 2 years later, the rates are still 2.5 euros per graft. A NW 6 needing 7,000 grafts would end up paying: 1000 x 6 = 6000 euros 1000 x 4 = 4000 euros 5000 x 2.5 = 12,500 euros Total: 22,500 euros An American surgeon charging 8 dollars per graft would end up costing: 8 dollars x 7000 = 56,000 dollars 56,000 dollars converted is 50,849 Euros. US rates: 50,849 Euros Dr. Lorenzo : 22.500 Euros 50,849 - 22,500 = 28,349 euros difference Therefore, clinics charging 8 dollars per graft in the U.S. are 28,349 euros more expensive. Blake, why is this the case?
  3. I met with Bisanga a year and a half ago and he told me that I only had around 6500 grafts available via fut or 2000 via Fue. He struck me as being a very conservative and ethical doctor. He was very consistent straight to the point, although more conservative than most other top docs. I later had a consultion with another doctor, and my available donor was measured at 14000 via fut. Finally, a top FUE doc measured my lifetime grafts at 10,000. I am a Norwood 5 going on 6. So Bisanga seems to be more conservative. This is not a bad thing, but my guess is that if he was willing to do an Fue surgery on a NW5, stinger, then you must have favorable characteristics and density. He rejected me for FUE. Out of curiosity, what kind of hair caliber do u have? Mine is 55 microns.
  4. It looks like you're a NW 5 going on 6. Did Dr. Bisanga tell you how many grafts you would need?
  5. Do you believe that there is a correlation between a large number of grafts being transplanted and poor yield? For example, 5000 - 6000 grafts in the same session. Or is poor yield more often associated with dense packing? Thanks in advance.
  6. Could you please show us some more photos under strong lighting? Also a photo of the hairline with the hair combed up, please. Do you have any photos of your crown? Are you happy with how it has progressed? Thanks in advance. I am strongly considering Dr. Lorenzo too.
  7. Are you satisfied with your scar? Thanks for sharing.
  8. To the OP, Have you considered consulting with Dr. Konior? If you're having doubts about FUT, I would consult with Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Lorenzo, Dr Bisanga and Dr. Feriduni about FUE. Best of luck!
  9. Hi Tony! It's looking good! Thank yo very much for sharing your journey with us. Out of curiosity, who were the other doctors that you consulted with who said that FUE is not an option?
  10. Hi Fullness, Looking forward to the update. Cheers!
  11. From personal experience, it is impossible to analyze someone's donor density from a picture. Your hair is very short, so for all we know, you may have above average donor density. In my case, pictures told a very different story, and as it turned out, I have above average donor density. I highly recommend that you visit these surgeons in person in order to evaluate your donor density and to see what can be accomplished in your case. Out of curiosity, did Dr. Bisanga recommend strip?
  12. It looks great. I'm very happy for you. What does SMG charge for FUT? Thanks!
  13. I agree with the above statement. In my opinion, this has become a clinic to stay away from in Turkey. Full refund is warranted.
  14. Mate, I had diffused thinning across the top just like you at the age of 27. Now I'm going on 30 and I'm a Norwood 5. If iI were you, I would try taking a lower dose of Propecia: .5 mg M and Th to see how your body reacts. If you still have side effects, try liquid finansteride. Having a hair transplant should be your last option. Your donor area seems good, but it is always difficult to evaluate in photos. Also, what side effects were you having from Rogaine?
  15. Edit: Question was answered in previous page. Best of luck to you.
  16. If you're set on Turkey, the only surgeon I would go to is Dr. Erdogan. Best of luck.
  17. Dr. Bhatti, Since you discovered significant miniaturization in his lateral humps during the first surgery, why didn't you transplant in the area to ensure that there wouldn't be a gap between the lateral humps and the top? Thanks!
