  1. Dr. Ron Shapiro also stated the following in a video interview available on Youtube: "a good FUE transplanter should be able to get at least very close to the same growth rate (as FUT) at least 80% of the time." Janna from SMG said, "We've always felt our strip yields approx. 98%+ and fue is now closer to 90-95%. We will keep trying to achieve 98% or better with our fue." I do agree with you on this: each patient should do his due diligence and understand that there is always a risk with cosmetic surgery. Research, research, research. Finally, in your expert opinion, do you believe that the very best FUE clinics are only getting 80% yield on average via FUE? 2. Firstly, many people prefer wearing their hair shorter on the sides/back. One cannot argue against hairstyle preferences. FUE scarring allows for a wider range of hairstyle options. I like having options, don't you? Secondly, shhh happens in life. Many young guys have surgery at a very young age and may progress to a Norwood 7 one day. It happens! I would rather be the guy who did my due diligence, had an FUE surgery, knowing that I may one day be able to sport a shorter hairstyle without laymen being able to detect a thing. But yes, I agree, it doesn't make much sense otherwise to buzz all of your hair off after having paid a lot of money for a HT. I will give you that. Thirdly, I think it is also psychological. Knowing that one CAN wear a shorter hairstyle at anytime offers a sense of freedom and relief to a lot of people. The averageJo would never be able to detect a thing.... Also, regret can really weigh a person down, especially if the result turned out poorly. Poor growth + strip scar = regret + fewer options. I can guarantee you that. I'll say it again. Having options ain't such a bad thing.
  3. I feel that it is important to point out that Janna clearly stated that the FUE yield at SMG is between 90-95%. If SMG is able to achieve high yield FUE results on a consistent basis, wouldn't it be fair to assume that there are other top clinics around the world that get the same FUE yield? Janna from SMG said, "We've always felt our strip yields approx. 98%+ and fue is now closer to 90-95%. We will keep trying to achieve 98% or better with our fue."
  4. I believe that there are FUE clinics that are producing excellent results on a consistent basis. I also believe that these clinics are changing the lives of thousands of patients world wide every year. This should be the end goal of each clinic, namely to make as many patients satisfied as possible. I believe that we are seeing this with FUE. I believe that it is a procedure that is evolving and giving patients options. These are all positives, for anyone who suffers from hair loss. Finally, I disagree with the notion that FUE cannot be a standalone option for many people, even higher Norwood patients who may need 5,000-6000 grafts. We have seen this being done, time and again, successfully, by the best FUE practitioners. The results speak for themselves. As for the yield, I will let this quote speak for itself: "a good FUE transplanter should be able to get at least very close to the same growth rate (as FUT) at least 80% of the time." I interpret this as meaning that 80% of those who have an FUE with a good FUE practitioner can expect a yield that is either higher, equal or slightly below FUT yield. Even someone as experienced and knowledgeable as the forum moderator, David, was willing to travel to India to have an FUE procedure. I think this speaks for itself. Just my two cents.
  5. Blake, Please watch the video on Youtube. Here Dr. Ron Shapiro clearly states that "a good FUE transplanter should be able to get at least very close to the same growth rate (as FUT) at least 80% of the time."
  6. Dr. Ron Shapiro recently said in an interview that "a good FUE transplanter should be able to get at least very close to the same growth rate (as FUT) at least 80% of the time." Note that the interview is available on Youtube and its title is: Are FUE Results Weaker than FUSS Results?
  7. Again, the possibility of moving on with your life and maintaining a short buzz cut is far greater with FUE than with strip, provided that you did your due diligence. The beauty of FUE is that it provides us with more options down the line. This shouldn't be discounted. Simply put, I like having options, don't you?
  8. I don't think you need a hair transplant. But good luck and keep us updated, please. Cheers!
  9. I'm a big fan of Dr. Ron Shapiro's hairlines. Best of luck.
  10. A guy who did his due diligence and yet had a failed FUE HT will usually look much better with a buzz cut than someone who did or didn't have surgery and grows his hair out long, essentially advertising his bald spot to the world. Naturalness has little to do with density and everything to do with hair characteristics and the artistic ability and design of the Doctor. Just because someone stares up at my hairline, it doesn't mean that something is unnatural. It simply means that my impressive 5 follicular unit hairline is drawing more attention than other facial features. I believe that the very best Doctors are able to recreate naturalness, as long as they have that artistic ability.
  11. Few people get a good hair transplant and then later on decide to shave their heads. Of course, a failed hair transplant may lead a person to wear a short buzzcut. And I would rather be the guy with FUE scarring with a buzzcut than the other guy with a STRIP scar on my head after a failed hair transplant. What would you prefer Dr Blake?
  12. Most guys don't look attractive with a shaved head. Most bald guys do, however, look a lot more attractive with a short buzz cut than with long hair on the sides and nothing on top. FUE allows for this, having a big strip scar on your head does not. You will never be able to sport a short buzz cut with a strip scar, never.
  13. Remember that this is an American hair loss website. Many countries have their own with 100s of results on a monthly basis. Check out these forums: French Italian Spanish Here you'll find many Feriduni results.
  14. How much of the FUE surgery was performed by Dr. Hasson himself?
  15. Dr. Feriduni does not recommend strip surgery in men under the age of 30.
  16. Some clinics may be offering patients with bad results/poor growth a refund or a second surgery in return for silence/non-disclosure on the forums. Another reason why patients who have had a poor experience with some clinics just disappear. Just my two cents.
  17. Baldietwo, Thanks for the update. I have been following your case since the beginning. You have certainly come a long way. 2000 grafts in a big crown will always result in a thinning appearance. The good news is that you have a few more months to thicken up. After that you can always go back to add more density in the crown. I have seen many times how a second procedure in the crown can really thicken things up considerably. Congratulations to you. And again, thank you for updating. It has been very cool following your progress.
  18. While I agree that most people cannot pull off a completely shaved look, a buzz cut will always look better than long hair on the sides revealing a horseshoe pattern on top. FUE offers patients the option to sport a shorter hairstyle just in case things don't turn out well.
  19. Dr. Feller, I am also interested in whether a crown can expand from strip surgery. Please, can you elaborate on this point. Thank you in advance.
  20. Mike37, Dr. Lorenzo worked in England for one year. He has since returned to Madrid, Spain. He is a highly regarded Doctor. Some other Doctors in Europe/Turkey that may be of interest to you include: Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Mwamba. Best of luck to you.
  21. Dr. Bhatti, On average, what yield can one expect from your clinic via FUE?
  22. That makes a lot of sense. I noticed that both strips yielded approximately the same amount of grafts. Was there a strategy behind doing two sessions of approximately 3000 grafts per surgery rather than taking one strip and maximizing the amount of grafts in one session? Once again, great result. I'm a big fan.
