  1. My bet is that it is either the way his hair is cut, or hat hair. Who knows, perhaps he didn't want to get recognized on his way to the office that morning. hehe
  2. First of all, performing 90 FUE surgeries over an 8 year period hardly illustrates dedication to a field of study. Contrast these 90 FUE surgeries with the total amount of time, energy, innovation and dedication that an experienced FUE practitioner has put into improving the FUE technique. Malcolm Gladwell stated that 10,000 hours can turn anyone into an expert within a field of study. Perhaps this time period is not exactly accurate. What is true, however, is that practice makes perfect and the more one practices something, the better he or she gets at it. Once again, it would be interesting to see the same study conducted by one of the founders of the World FUE Institute. The FUT yield from the study also seems surprisingly low in 3 out of the 4 cases (83%, 87.3%, and 76%).
  3. Out of curiosity, what kind of yield, on average, are you seeing with the ARTAS robot? How would you compare this with the yield of the FUT procedures that you carry out?
  4. ErsB1, Are you getting any form of compensation for sharing your results?
  5. When did you have your surgery? Your description states that you had it in November.
  6. First of all, you are not even close to being a Norwood 7 based on the pics posted (as was suggested above). Secondly 4000 grafts is enough to create a density of 50 fu per cm2 in the first 80 cm2 of your recipient zone. Just because you had poor growth does not mean that 4000 grafts is an insignificant number of grafts. As a layman, I believe that recreating a strong frontal and partial mid scalp zone should have been a priority. Thirdly, this result illustrates why one should reconsider the decision before going the budget route in HT surgery. This is especially concerning seeing as Dr. Bhatti hasn't even responded to some of your emails after the surgery (as per your account). Perhaps you could travel to Brussels for a biopsy and recommendation from Dr. Bisanga. Also, I would consider consulting with Dr. Lorenzo in Madrid (in person). I have seen some wonderful repair results from Dr. Lorenzo. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your experience. Please keep us posted.
  7. Out of curiosity, what yield can one expect from an FUE procedure at Dr. Cooley's clinic?
  8. Hi Dr. Charles, Does the HairCheck software measure things such as hair count, follicular units per cm2, and vellus to terminal ratio?
  9. What's happening guys? Does anyone know what the software is called that some HT Docs are using to analyze the donor zone? I believe it counts hairs per fu, donor density, perhaps even hair calibre. I've seen it being used by Dr. Lorenzo and Dr. Erdogan. Cheers.
  10. No. I am just following the description. I would place 1000 grafts in the crown and be done with it.
  11. That's interesting Doug. What yield difference in percent has been observed between FUE and strip at H&W?
  12. Hi Doug, Wouldn't you say that extracting 50% of someone's total donor zone vie FUE will make the donor zone see through in the average patient?
  13. Why is this clinic still allowed to post its results on this forum? The clinic has been removed from the recommendation list, hasn't it? Removal due to poor results on this forum and on other forums too! I have never seen so many poor results from a recommended clinic in my life. Just over the last few months, an abundance of negative results have surfaced from this clinic. There are few decisions as important as having a hair transplant, so it's important to get it right the first time around. I am writing this because I care about other people getting an outstanding result. Awareness about this mediocre clinic is therefore essential for those who may not be up to date about this clinic's past. My advice and opinion, and that is all it is: stay clear. Finally, I would like to reiterate that anyone who is considering this clinic should think long and hard before committing. One good result does not negate the abundance of poor results by this clinic. Have a look at this negative thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181266-warning-if-considering-dr-hakan-doganay-read-first.html Read the full thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181441-fue-3000-grafts-dr-doganay-2.html Check out the link posted by Ykiska: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/172154-dr-hakan-doganay-vs-dr-koray-erdogan-turkey-5.html
  14. BeHappy, You could always consider wearing a full cap hair system. Skip the additional surgeries. And move on with your life. Many men wear hair systems with great success. When done well, few people would be able to tell. The hairline is the real giveaway imo but when done well, I challenge any layman to tell the difference between a hair system and real hair. I think it is great that you are sharing your story. Many young men don't understand the commitment and the potential consequences of getting a hair transplant at a young age. All the best to you.
  15. BeHappy, I was unfamiliar with your case until now. I just viewed your photos, which are of excellent quality. Have you considered wearing a hair system instead of getting more work done? You have nice facial features and there is no doubt in my mind that your appearance would improve significantly with a state of the art hair system.
  16. Hakan Doganay is no longer recommended on at least two major hair restoration websites, including on this one. Read this: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181266-warning-if-considering-dr-hakan-doganay-read-first.html
  17. Contact the clinic for the most recent pricing. You can always call them. Last time I checked, the pricing was: 6 euros per graft for the first 1000 grafts. 4 euros per graft for the next 1000 grafts. 2.5 euros per graft for the remaining number of grafts (lifetime I believe). Therefore 3000 grafts would end up costing 12,500 euros. 4000 grafts would end up costing 15,000 euros. The website is injertocapilar.com
  18. Leonilly, When I was your age, I used to hate hearing the advice that I am about to give you. If there is a problem, there needs to be a solution. This is especially true for anything that wears you down and makes you feel depressed. You can take my advice or you can leave it. I have no financial gain in any decision that you may make. I am just here to help you so that you make a smart decision that you will be able to live with when you're older. I am going to go against the grain here and tell you not to do it (assuming average hair characteristics and donor density). You're only 25 years old and you've already developed a Norwood 4/5 hair loss pattern. You will most likely develop a Norwood 6 pattern in the future without Propecia (seeing as you have a family history of Norwood 6s). There is a website called Propeciahelp. Educate yourself and then determine if the possible side-effects are worth it to you. For if you are going to start the hair transplant journey as a young 25, you'll need every insurance policy that you can get. In the end, I am not a fan of the average Norwood 6 getting a hair transplant. In fact, it can end up a total disaster even with the very best Doctor. Firstly, you'll need a significant number of grafts (unless you have favorable characteristics, and can ratchet down your expectations significantly). Are you willing to leave the crown bald at 25? Getting good density in the crown is challenging, especially on a Norwood 6. The crown can expand significantly and you won't have the grafts to fill it in at a high density. Another factor to consider is that you won't be able to wear your hair short again with a long and potentially wider strip scar going from one ear to another. The scar is permanent. Imagine being that guy with thin transplanted hair on top combed over, with a long strip scar permanently engrained in your head preventing you from shaving down. I wouldn't want to be this guy. But it happens. All to often. I've even seen it at a live consultation. In my opinion, shaving your head or maintaining a short buzz-cut is way more attractive. Potential options in no particular order: 1. FUE procedure in Europe (costs are significantly lower). The scarring is more difficult to detect and when done properly, it will generally allow you to wear a shorter hairstyle. Once again, if you go the HT route, remember that it will leave scarring and that as a potential norwood 6, you will need to ratchet down your expectations (bald crown, perhaps?). If you go that route, Propecia is important in order to protect your hair transplant in the long term. Are you willing to take the gamble with side-effects? Many people don't get any. Some do. Check out Propecia help. 2. Shave your head and own your hair loss. This is not for everyone. I get it. But perhaps it's for you? And self-acceptance is seen as very attractive. 3. Hair system. Check out Northwestlace. Some of the results are incredible. And it gives you options down the line. You aren't scarred up. There isn't any permanent damage. There are many sites to choose from. This just happens to be one where the customers seem very satisfied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-LK_ch13sY Best of luck to you.
  19. I agree. If one chooses this particular surgeon, he just hasn't done his due diligence.
