  1. What is your opinion on the new hairline designed? Also, do you have any top after photos to share?
  2. Hey mate, Konior, Ron Shapiro and Hasson & Wong (Canada) would be my three choices in the U.S.. Do you have pics to share?
  3. That's a lot of grafts for a relatively small area, especially considering that you already had some hair in the area. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted on your progress. Was your hair loss classified as a norwood 5A? Are you taking rogaine?
  4. You're not buying an iphone; you're buying an image that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Divide the total cost by the total number of days that you will have to live with the result, and you'll find the price quite reasonable. If you cannot afford a surgery at this point, wait until you can. There are many different factors that go into achieving a top notch result. Many of the recommended top Surgeons in North America and Europe are expensive because they are the best. Period. Disclaimer: There are always exceptions. Long story short, you really do get what you pay for here. Don't look for a bargain or you may end up spending more money than you can afford on corrective procedures. Good luck!
  5. Wouldn't the factor of blood supply (or lack thereof) also hold true for FUT? If so, would you say that there is a correlation between mega sessions and lower yield (for FUT and FUE alike)?
  6. FUE is more difficult and certainly more time consuming, but many surgeons, especially in some countries, are letting their technicians do most of the work. So wouldn't replacing the technicians more often during a procedure be a way to increase graft survival? Assuming that the technicians are switched out after a few hours, wouldn't it be true that: 1000 grafts will yield a 90% growth rate. 2000 will yield a 90 % growth rate. 3000 grafts will yield a 90% growth rate. 4000 grafts will yield a 90 % growth rate. Why would the growth rate decrease only because the number increases? Or does Dr. Doganay do ALL of the extractions himself? Cheers!
  7. Why would there be a difference between FUT and FUE in regards to the acceptable total number of grafts placed? FUE is more labor intensive, however, if there are many different shift changes throughout the procedure, why would it matter? Most of the work is carried out by technicians anyway. Any thoughts?
  8. I think I will give it a try as well. Thanks for sharing mate.
  9. Do you believe that the community will begin to require HD video documentation in the future?
  10. Cueball, are you still experiencing side effects from Propecia?
  11. Hey mate, Hey mate! I am considering taking the plunge; however, I have a large are to cover, unfortunately, being a diffused NW5 going on NM6, according to Dr. Bisanga. I also have medium-fine hair, so any work done would need to be quite conservative. I'm still in the process of consulting with different doctors. I'm 29 now, so I may wait around 5 years before having any work done. Rogaine has also helped quite a lot for me, and it seems as if though my hair loss has slowed down quite a bit. Unfortunately, Propecia just gave me terrible side effects.
  12. I really despise threads that come across as publicity and free advertising for clinics such as Ziering(?). Look, to anyone who is reading this thread, who is just starting to learn about hair transplants, let me say this: hair transplants are expensive whether you go to a shitty doctor or to a top 10 doctor. So please do yourself a favor and go to the best doctor in the industry. And if you cannot afford it, then save some more. You think bald looks bad? Imagine bald, unnatural plugs, poor growth, a hairline that resembles a corn row more than anything else, coupled with a freaky strip scar preventing you from ever being able to shave off your hair again. Just my two cents. Good luck!

  14. Please keep us informed about what Dr. Bisanga says when you meet with him.
  15. The hair transplant industry is unfortunately unlike any other industry in that it lacks significant regulation/oversight yet demands a HUGE amount of expertise. With your amount of loss, you do NOT get a second chance to get things right. If I were in your shoes, I would only go to a recommended top 10 surgeon. You are not purchasing a TV; you are purchasing an image that you and everyone else will look at for the rest of your life. I have seen so many people visit unknown surgeons and get butchered. Who knows, you may be one of the lucky few, but why take the chance? I saw what a top Ivy league educated doctor did to my father back in the 90s; I just don't want the same thing to happen to you, mate.Very few doctors should be doing hair transplantations. Please note that this is only my opinion. In Europe, for FUE, I like: Dr. Feriduni Dr. Bisanga Dr. Lorenzo You can also check out the recommended Turkish Doctors. For FUT, I like: Hasson & Wong Dr. Konior Shapiro Medical Group I hope it all works out for you. Cheers!
  16. Hi Cueball, thank you for sharing. It definitely means a lot to me, especially considering that we are about the same age with the same type of hair loss. I think that one positive thing that you have going for you is that your crown isn't dipping too much in the back. Is this correct?
  17. Welcome to the forum! ---- To the original poster, Dr. Konior, hands down!
  18. The dilemma here is two-fold. Firstly, most patients have below average hair characteristics, which means that they need as follicular units as possible transplanted. Surely, there are some patients with excellent characteristics, and these are always showcased by the best clinics. However, most guys have fine hair with average characteristics. These are usually not showcased by clinics. Start paying attention to the hair characteristics of each patient showcased here and tell me how many fine haired patients you see! Secondly, as long as donor hair in finite, we will continue to see strip surgeries being performed. And why shouldn't they? The true art of a business man is holding on to his product as long as it's good enough for the public to purchase; once there is a superior product on the market, the business will adapt and change or fail. FUE is superior for some patients with limited hair loss (I would argue NW4 or less for most cases) AND excellent hair characteristics. We don't really see many Norwood 6 patients being showcased WITH medium fine, straight hair. Once donor regeneration is a reality, strip will become obsolete. However, I am not impressed by how long it takes this industry to adapt and come up with new technology. I am not holding my breath. Point is: large balding area + average hair characteristics = FUT + FUE combo. Otherwise you will have to compromise. Doctors will continue to perform FUT. Perhaps laxity can be improved upon in the future, allowing higher Norwoods to get more grafts?
  19. I would also like to see more Norwood 5-6 patients who have undergone FUE surgery with Dr. Rahal.
  20. Very interesting topic. I am curious about what others have to say.
  21. How old are you? Also, were the grafts available (around 7000) from FUT only?
  22. I really do hope that guys who are reading this thread in the future realize that shopping for a hair transplant is nothing like shopping for a new TV set. Extraordinary hair transplant surgeons are extremely rare and I would only go with a recommended surgeon on this site, who has many hd videos and photos available. This is your head that we are talking about! It better be an extraordinary result, or else you will live years full of regret, mark my words! This industry is nothing like any other industry. It is universally unregulated, mostly full of Doctors who only wish to maximize their profit. Ironically, these quacks charge the same amount of money that a top 10 surgeon charges, and I hope that anyone who reads this who is even considering finding a hair transplant blow out deal quickly changes his mind! It doesn't exist, you have to pay! Top surgeon = higher chance of an excellent result. I would only want the best surgeon operating on my head! Hopefully you would too! Please do your due diligence! Google the top clinics in Belgium, Canada, USA, Turkey and Spain. Save up for an additional year or two. Go to the best! Just my two scents. Btw, I just love all of the new accounts popping up in this same thread. Say hi to Luciano from me!
