  1. This doesn't look like a natural result. One must keep in mind that people also view us from other angles. While some men do maintain some hair in the frontal zone, this particular result is unacceptable in regards to naturalness. I feel that it may be in the best interest of members to at least consider whether this clinic should continue to be recommended. Also, the d's copy and paste response to our inquiries is just unacceptable. I feel that we should petition for a revote in regards to this doctor's membership.
  2. This is not a satisfactory result, especially not for that amount of grafts. Totally unacceptable!
  3. Congrats on the surgery! What is the total area that was covered in cm2?
  4. Spanker, thank you! Your explanation really does put things into perspective!
  5. Fullness, what is your total area of baldness in cm2?
  6. do you have a link for the unnatural result? Please pm me. Thanks!
  7. Perhaps these are good photos to illustrate to future Norwood 6 patients what they can expect from a HT surgery. Having done tons of research over the last year, I believe this is a very honest photo album of a Norwood 6 patient who has average (or below average?) hair characteristics. Sure, there will always be better results, however, most of these patients have excellent donor characteristics. This guy's hair loss is identical to mine. It's not a bad result; I think it's just a realistic result. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. How large is the total bald area (Bofore surgery)? Thanks for sharing! PS. Please consider taking videos of your patient results (that way we can see the result from all angles). This makes it realistic and very beneficial for anyone who may consider hair transplant surgery.
  8. Hi Joe, Thank you for your response; I really appreciate it. I visited Dr Bisanga, and he told me that I have a laxity of 1.5-1.6. Is this good? He drew a very conservative hairline (NW3) and I am fine with that. But like you said, I am already a NW5 (going on 6). I asked if I should wait with having grafts placed in the crown and he told me that I don't have to wait. Is this because my crown loss is already quite defined? Also, do you think I can get a good result with around 8,000 grafts ? Thanks again! I really appreciate it!
  9. Out of curiosity, what is your measured donor density? And total area to cover?
  10. Dr. Lindsey, While future hair loss may be unpredictable and unique to each individual, can you provide us with any statistics and/or information about predicting the future hair loss pattern of patients who already have a Norwood 5/6 pattern at very young age (say between 20-30)? I read that if one's borders are strong (no miniaturization in the donor area) at the age of 30, there is a good possibility that it will stay that way. Would you agree that this is generally true? Also, I started balding at around 19-20. I am almost 29 and am headed towards a Norwood 6 within the next few years. Due to my low color contrast (blonde hair), I was able to hide my baldness until just recently. Is it true that individuals who start balding at a younger age also stop balding at a younger age? In other words, one's final pattern presents itself earlier. Also, do you believe that Norwood 6 patterns make good hair transplant candidates? How many grafts does the average Norwood 6 patient need for full coverage? Thank you very much.
  11. Yes, I'll definitely get on Minox. I did experience the minor side effects that you mentioned, including chest pain and testicular pain; however, this disappeared after a while. Unfortunately, the main side effect was not in my head, as I was not experiencing morning erections anymore. I'm planning on getting a prescription for .5 mg daily. Or .25 mg daily. What do you think?
  12. Hi Shacked, Thanks for your reply. I am currently taking Propecia but I am experiencing side effects, so I only take 1 mg 1-2 times per week.
  13. Hi everybody! I would like to hear a definition of what having realistic expectations means to you. I'm a Norwood 5 going on 6 with approximately 8-9,000 grafts available via FUT and FUE. I am almost 29 years old and have lost a considerable amount of hair in the last two years. My donor laxity is 1.6, and I have medium-fine blonde hair. Average donor: 70/90/70. One thing that wasn't obvious to me at the beginning is how important one's hair characteristics are. For example, a person with coarse and curly hair will have a much better result than someone with fine, straight dark hair, where there is a high color contrast. In all honesty, the best results that I see have been of guys with just these positive characteristics. However, there are also exceptions. For instance, Jotronic appears to have rather fine, straight hair with a strong color contrast. And yet, his result is one of the better ones out there. My expectations: Full coverage (including the crown) Conservative hair line (Norwood 2.5) I expect to be able to wear my hair relatively short (1 cm on the sides, 3 cm on top). It is important that the crown be given an illusion of coverage (if there is such a thing). I don't want to look bald in the crown (thinning is fine). I'm not expecting a huge mop of hair but I still want a nice age appropriate appearance. What should I expect as far as my crown is concerned? Are my expectations in check? My hair characteristics: Density: 70/90/70 Donor availability: 8000-9000 grafts FUT and FUE Medium-fine hair Blonde Straight Norwood 5 going on 6 Crown will dip in a few years; it's just a matter of time. Thanks for your input guys. Cheers!
  14. Hey mate! I recommend traveling for the procedure. In regards to a few recommended physicians: Dr Feller (based in NY, I believe) has an outstanding reputation online, as does Hasson & Wong (based in Canada). Dr. Rahal is also very talented (based in Canada). Dr Ron/Paul Shapiro (Minnesota, I believe) are also top notch. There are a lot of Doctors who are very gifted at what they do, so I recommend meeting a few of them in person before making a decision. Best of luck to you.
  15. I cannot stress enough the importance of going to a reputable Doctor. I have never heard about this Doctor so I will allow other members to comment. However, if I were you, I would strongly consider one of the recommended Doctors on this website. Have you considered Dr. Ron and Paul Shapiro? There are many ethical and talented Drs who are recommended on this website. I recommend doing online consultations via the "consult a physician" tab. Also, there are many extremely talented European physicians who are recommended here. Some include Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Feriduni and Dr. Lorenzo. My advice: go to the best even if it costs you more money. Best of luck to you!
