ya see guys with this balding pattern, but not as often

Listen to Spanker's wisdom. Yes it is tempting to have the attention grabbing cool hair, but you just need to tone it down some and bring less attention to your hair. Subtle is good when wearing a system. Maybe work out and bring attention to muscular arms or a six pack...and think of your hair as more of background feature that is no longer a downer feature.

If there is not vast improvement at 15 months I would think you deserve a full refund. Like someone suggested go see another top notch full time hair transplant surgeon and get an opinion on what happened. That may be the worst 2000 graft result I've ever seen.

I think you should consider doing BOTH....transplant & SMP....and I predict you probably will end up doing both. Get the transplant....in a 1-1.5 years post transplant you can determine how much coverage the transplant provided....then get the SMP to further "thicken" the look and you will know exactly where to place the SMP. The crown is a challenge, but elite surgeons are better these days at spreading the hair across the crown so even if further loss happens in most cases it won't be the extreme donut look. I would like to further thicken my crown with SMP, but am still concerned about the ink being in my bloodstream and lingering in my lymph nodes.

At Hasson & Wong you can certainly choose which doctor you would like to perform your surgery.

I've seen post after post after post in recent years in this forum basically claiming FUE was the near perfect solution. It was was also at times stated in demeaning ways ("greedy doctors"...which is laughable) about patients and doctors still pro-FUT. It is not strawman to FINALLY get some balance to this topic. In an odd twist of fate, if I ever have another procedure it will have to be FUE...lol

I mean "duh". Why is it that fanatical FUE patients get so defensive about obvious truth? Of course there are pros/cons to both....but there is little doubt that FUE grafts suffer MORE INJURY vs. FUT grafts. Amazing after years of FUE cheerleading we finally get some balance and some get offended by "balance" which only can help uninformed patients make a better more fully informed decision.

I agree. Dr. Lindsey is a real asset to this forum with his easy to understand educational videos and explanations about issues both pro/con about the different types of hair transplant procedures.

what do you guys think the easiest free or pay site is to add a URL to an image? I used to use PhotoBucket....it was great for the average user because you could add a URL and edit images all on the same site. However the changes PhotoBucket made a couple of years ago make that site clunky and not as user friendly as it used to be. It seems harder to find a site where you can add a URL to an image and get a "true direct link" url.

Vitamin E oil helped me with post-op itch. It's a bit messy, but I would wear a towel around my shoulders while at the house. Also another trick is to buy the Cool Touch Kleenex. The Cool Touch Kleenex is heavier than typical tissue. I found a lot of relief when I had post-op itch by gently waving a Cool Touch Kleenex back and forth, back and forth over the itch barely making contact where the itch is. Yes your arm gets tired, but it really helped at times and the tissue is so soft it really can't do damage, but it makes just enough contact to relieve the itch.

Thanks hairthere....your work looks really nice. I will study the safety thread, because to be honest that is the only thing giving me any hesitation at the chance to get some additional thickening in the crown.

Nice job. Looks great. When you say "3 passes" exactly what does that mean as far as the patient? Obviously each patient is unique, but like for this patient did that mean 3 visits? How long between visits? Roughly how long was this patient in the chair per visit? Is there a "recovery time"? Does the client shower/shampoo the next morning and return to normal activities like work the next day? Sun exposure? Any new studies on safety issues of ink/bloodstream worries?

Spex just about covers it all. This isn't so much a question, but I would not consider any surgeon that only does hair part-time and offers all kinds of other cosmetic treatments and surgery. An elite hair transplant surgeon that only does hair has an office, staff, technicians, and equipment that is ONLY focused on hair transplants. That kind of daily "hair only" focus has to be an advantage. ps: The only Spex suggestion I personally would not do is this: "19. Can you record the entire consultation? If no, walk out" In my mind if I was a surgeon I would see that as a potential red-flag patient. I would immediately not be at ease. I want my surgeon to be relaxed and at ease during my consult Not worrying about being entrapped later. But that's just me....2EachHisOwn.

At least they were ethical and honest. Some would wave you right into the chair. I think diffuse thinning can be a challenge in that it usually covers a large area (vs. say just the crown or just the hairline thinning) and predicting when and if it all goes. So maybe that's why the clinics want you to wait until the pattern is more defined.

Arminius....looks like you will be quite pleased. That view out the surgery room is magnificent isnt it? When Dr. Hasson did the extractions how long did that take? And for the extractions were you face down or sitting at an angle? Also how long was the entire day in the chair for BOTH extraction and placement? Happy growing.

Mick it does seem very obvious on-line when these type patients post in this forum, but I suppose clinics can miss the telltale signs during consultation and then they end up with a nightmare on their hands. It was a good video that is full of common sense which is sometimes lacking in the herd mentality on the internet.

Yeah sure your dark picture is really an accurate portrayal...because it was taken with an i-phone doesn't mean it is a true reflection. I'll take a picture of my "so called scar" with really shitty lighting and then i can proclaim to someone that makes it more easily seen "oh but you've doctored my photo"....rolling eyes

I doubt that is true....my "so called scar" is a big fat ZERO. Exactly the crux....it's not ever relevant to many, many patients and it is a way overblown scare tactic. Personally I'd rather have the strip scar than the shotgun blast scars. But again 2EachHisOwn.....both have pros/cons.
