  1. Thank you!!! That's what I have after the first procedure. I had above average donor density (2.3) so I should have a decent amount of donor hair. Hopefully, all in all, it's enough to cover the extent of my loss over time!
  2. Just did my 8-Month follow up with Dr. Mohebi, so I have some pretty clear-cut comparison pics from pre-op versus now on the same blue background with the same camera. This will be my last post for this HT. So final thoughts: - Getting this hair transplant was 10000000000000% worth it. The amount of joy and confidence it has brought me is absolutely priceless. If you can afford it, you should do it. It is an absolute NO BRAINER. - I'm gearing up for HT #2 with Dr. Mohebi. He said he'd like to spend a couple of hundred grafts spot-checking the hairline and temple points. Next there's some thinness behind the hairline I'd like to address to get to maximum density. And then the goal is to dump the rest into the crown. I'm okay with using Toppik so the crown doesn't have to be perfect. I want the front third to be perfect and the front 2/3rds to be very good. But the crown, I just don't want to be bald. Dr. Mohebi recommends 1000-1200 grafts in the crown. - My goal with HT #2 will be to get an HT that will satisfy me for 8-10 years. I'm hoping we can accomplish that. FYI: Dr. Mohebi estimates that I have 4000 scalp grafts plus 2000 beard grafts to use. Here are the pics, they speak for themselves: HAIRLINE: RIGHT TEMPLE: LEFT TEMPLE: CROWN: DONOR:
  3. Congrats! It really looks awesome. And on top of that your donor area looks untouched. Remarkable.
  4. Yeah 4800 hairs is much better than grafts. You could have had only 1500 grafts placed and get 4800 hairs. WidowsPeek is right, you'd need two surgeries anyway to get really great density. So, even if you don't get the density you desire, you'll need another one anyway. I personally do not feel like this is gonna be the one to give you great density. But you didn't waste any donor hair. The work seems FINE. It looks placed well and all that, just not close together enough. This isn't a waste, I'd think of this as STEP ONE in a multi-year TWO STEP process. That may not be what you want to hear right now but I just want to prepare you for this outcome. I'm no expert obviously, and if the hair grows with great density then, hey, that's great. But it just doesn't appear to be as densely packed as it could be if it were from a top surgeon.
  5. Is that 4800 hairs or 4800 grafts? Either way, this doesn't look as densely packed as it could be.
  6. I think a 50% refund is a pretty good deal. I think the packing wasn't dense from the start but it does appear to me that the hairs that were transplanted did grow. He didn't get NOTHING from this procedure. There was minimal progress. The lost time and suffering is invaluable but I think you got about 50% of what you paid for and a 50% refund seems reasonable. That being said, this doesn't look like 2100 grafts. It looks like 500 or 1000 maybe. Not sure what happened to the other grafts, maybe they were never harvested?
  7. I think this is a marked improvement especially since you probably have lost native hair since last year. The good news is, now the stuff that you see lightly covering your crown will not fall out. Whereas before you may have had similar coverage but it was gonna go. The bad news is, without meds, you're going to continue to lose hair. I, personally, could not handle the side effects of Fin but I take Rogaine and whatever BS vitamins people suggest. I don't necessarily agree with the 'youre gonna be chasing your hair loss forever' philosophy. The fact is all the medications that currently exist only delay hair loss, not completely stop it. I know plenty of people on Fin who kept losing hair, just at a slower rate than they would have. So I believe no matter what you do, if you get an HT you will be chasing your hair loss until you lose all the hair you were gonna lose. It's true, if you don't take meds you're probably gonna need a total of 3 or 4 HTs. And probably will have to dip into beard and/or chest hair. But there's plenty of people on these boards, who have been on Fin for 10 years, who are ALSO on HT 3 & 4. You could go get another HT now if you'd like and fill in that one small spot. But I wouldn't try and make that crown any thicker. Just keep it thin and use Toppik. Save the grafts for the front third. I feel that's the best you can hope for. And with Toppik, it probably looks close to perfect.
  8. Welp, here I am a little after 6 months and I have to see it's been quite a stressful journey. I'm very happy with where I am at this point. I do hope that the hair on the temples begins to smooth out as it's a little wiry. I hope it eventually matches the hair behind it. I also am hoping to see some more thickening up of the hairline. But I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with the procedure. In hindsight, it was a no-brainer. Lots of people, and I mean lots, have been commenting on how my hair looks good. I've told very few people I got an HT and people just can't seem to help but mention that my hair looks thick and full. Especially guys who are thinning. I've been asked what kind of shampoo I'm using, or what kind of products, or spray. It's really nice to have a hairline. And the temple points were absolutely essential. As predicted, they were the best part of the whole procedure. I certainly have anxiety about future hair loss as I am not on Propecia. But I can say my hairline is better than it was even five years ago and this boost has been worth the pain, waiting and money. I cannot wait to do HT #2 and sure up the area behind the hairline as well as put 800-1000 grafts in my crown. Here is the hairline at 6 months: Here is the hairline pushed back at 6 months. Not the thickest in the world, but it works. Here is a hairline comparison, pre-op to 6 months: This one is pretty dramatic, and that pre-op photos I considered a 'good day': Here's the left temple: Here's my right temple, which was much worse: And a right temple comparison from pre-op to 6 months: And I didn't do much of any work on the crown but I just want to show people what it looks like with Toppik in. It's pretty undetectable. It doesn't fall off or get on your pillow at night. It does get a little dicey at night when you put in Rogaine. You really have to let it dry or else the Toppik gets on your pillow. But other than that, this product is a dream and I feel naked leaving home without it. I can't wait to get HT #2 and address that crown. I'd love the option to not have to use Toppik but I will probably use it anyway to supplement the density.
  9. The work looks great, congrats! Can you post some before photos? From before your first surgery and before your second surgery? I take it you're not on any meds?
  10. 7000 grafts just in your front third? You must have gone farther back than that. Is your crown just completely empty forever now? That seems like an exxaggeration. That being said, 1600 grafts for that area is also too little. 1600 grafts is what I see must people recommend for just the hairline. So even if this surgeon used perfect technique (which they did not) you would still get a less than satisfactory result. The good news is, you only used up 1600 grafts! And the ones you used aren't useless. Some of them are pluggy, but not the ones in your hairline. You should go get another surgery from a better doctor who will transplant around 2000 grafts into the hairline and fill in those patches behind it. Other than the loss of money I don't think you're in too bad of shape. You just definitely need another HT ASAP.
  11. Hi! Congrats on your transplant. I think you are seeing very good progress for four months. When I was at four months I was not too happy and worried. You look like you have solid visible progress which is good. Since your pre-op photos are with head shaven I can only guess what the extent of your hair loss is. But it appeared to be pretty advanced. Comparing your pre-op to four months is a marked improvement, although based on the placement of grafts and density, I feel you'll probably want at least one more HT rather soon. One thing that concerns me, however, is your donor area. It looks to me like the doctor may have dipped outside the safety zone a bit when harvesting your grafts. I don't normally see a donor area covering that much space. It's possible that those areas will be safe for you as everyone is different, but the size of the area from which the grafts were harvested concerns me.
  12. It's looking good at 5 months, I've been getting comments that my hair looks good without people knowing why. Only gonna do a 6-month update though!
