Just registered and thought I'd post to say think it's great that a forum like this exists to support and inform.
in brief I've always had a problem with a lack of hair as I was born with a rather large hairless cyst type growth on the crown of my head. My hair didn't fall out in this area it was just always there - a raised perfectly circular bald patch. Not a great look for a teenager! Fortunately when I was very young I had thick hair and this covered it - I started losing my hair young an
I am 27yo and considering a ht sometime in the next 6-12 months. My hair started to recede when I was around 20yo and by 21 I started 1mg propecia and 5% rogaine foam (along the hairline). Since then, my hair has been fairly stable with the exception of mild thinning along the hairline and temples. I haven't noticed any hairloss anywhere else. I would classify myself as being close to a NW3 with a naturally high hairline. My dad didn't start losing hair until his 60s and some uncles on his side
Hi All,
i recently made the decision to have a Fue Transplant. I had 2800 hairs transplanted in the front of my hairline.
Before the surgery I had never used any hair loss medications. My doctor has recommended I start minoxidil and Finasteride for a period of 6months only starting Monday 25th of April. I am abit off the idea after doing some forum reading. A lot of people are saying Finasteride is a long term medication once started you should not stop. Also it could take up to year to even

Now 46 years old, I had my first strip procedure in 1992 @22 years old with Dr Barry White here in Melbourne Australia. This was almost pre internet, so research was very limited. I had 2 or 3 procedures with Dr White. I'm not sure how many grafts in total, but by today’s standards, the results were poor
Around 2005 I had another procedure with Dr Jenifer Martinick, during my consultation with Dr Martinick, I was told this would be last strip procedure as my donor hair was very limited. In 200

Hello All,
I had a hair transplant with Dr.Paul Shapiro for my receding hairline. After much contemplation i choose to go ahead with Shapiro medical Group. I have researched a lot before choosing SMG as I am young and having the prospect of loosing more hair in the future, i choose SMG as they tend to be conservative and plan for the future. I had a total of 1779 grafts transplanted. I had a thinning crown, so they placed approx 360 to strengthen it. I am going in for another procedure to finis
Dear All,
I have just gone through FUT 3 days before. I am a regular smoker and I smoke about 10 cigerates per day. Now its hard for me to quit smoking. What side effects will it cause on my results. If you have any example (Pictures) of any one who kept on smoking after transplant and his/her results are effected, I would really like to have a look at those pictures.

Hi Everybody
Where to start......Well I am not here to discuss my reasons for choosing Longevita and my Surgeon Kazim Sipahi, but more to give an honest review of the whole process. I have been reading this forum for a couple of years, and due to personal circumstances, my window of opportunity for a HT was this month. By nature I am an indesisive person who would normally procrastinate over minor decisions. Why I chose Longevita boiled down to Value, Professionalism and Patient reviews. If yo
Hi!This is Tinny living in USA.I am having some problems related to my hair which is Dandruff.I want to get rid of it as early as possible. It will be great if any one hepls me about it.
I'm a native to Reno, Nevada and there is only one hair transplant doctor here. Dr. Wesley Hall Sr. (AKROS HAIR RESTORATION)
His father was a reputable plastic surgeon in town and now his youngest son is a plastic surgeon too. 3 generations.
my doctor Dr. Hall senior was our hospitals chief of staff. I had no doubt that he had a great pedigree.
im still not sure if I'm a case where transplants just don't work or its my doctors fault.
After two procedures of 600 grafts each I have extrem
It is the beauty of hair that adds to the beauty of a face and overall appearance of a person. It is not an exaggeration, but an actual fact. We are very much interested to enhance our overall look by styling our hair in various ways. Nice hair is actually a boon gifted to the people by the god. Everybody wants it to be attractive. Whether you are in the 20s or 50s, seeing gray hairs coming in, is definitely symbolic of aging and the passing of time. But, any physical sign of aging is not som
My hair started loosing when I was only 15. I then oiled my hair a full month and saw some positive things. But it was not enough. So, I then visited a doctor and the doctor gave a Zinc vitamin tablet and instructed to have a one daily for one 2 months. At that night, I took a single tablet with a hope to reduce hair loss, but something weird happened. The rate of hair falling increased 50% than before and then I stopped taking that Zinc tablet. I re-visited the doctor and then doctor gave me a
I am now 12 weeks post FUE transplant. I had 2500 grafts to the corners of my hairline. So far it seems like a long, slow process. I was thrilled after I had it done and could see my new hairs in my hairline. Around the 3 week point I began to shed and this continued until the 5/6 week point. At this stage i was at my lowest point as my hair was still growing after being shaved. There was little I could do to conceal the receding hairline that has always worried me.
Today I took some photos t

I am considering a number of Hair transplant surgens for an FUE treatment. I previously had a FUT (strip) procedure performed in 2010. Now I want FUE, because strip is trerrible and dont want to go through that again. However strip has a high graft survival rate. FUE not so high. Which option is best and by what percentage for 4000 grafts FUE.
1. 4000 Grafts in one mega session with micro motor extraction
2. 2000 a day Grafts over two days with micro motor extraction
3. 4000 grafts over 3
Month 5 and I don't notice much of a change if at all. I'm a little worried at this point, but I'm doing my best to stay patient. I continue to cut it short since it only looks slightly better that way. The scar is still visible at a 3.5 cut length, so I am using Caboki on that and on top at work. Hopefully something happens noticeably within the next 3 months.

Why Treat Hair Loss?
At a point in our lives while growing up, we each form a mental image of ourselves. We develop a picture of our face and body, an image of how we think others see us. When we look in a mirror, we identify with what we see and inwardly say, “That’s me.” Even without a mirror, we have an idea of the image of ourselves that we project to the world. But as a man or woman begins to lose hair
