Looking excellent and the best is yet to come! One question, did you remove the crust yourself or did they do it at the clinic? Did you use just water to soften the skin before the scab removal or did you apply shampoo? Thanks

I did them myself at 10 days, following his explicit instructions. 15 minutes under warm water, then remove with fingertips.

Almost to the point where I no longer wear a hat to the gym.

@mtb

How do you feel about your hairline hright?

I think it looks excellent not too high or low and saves grafts for rest of your scalp

Looks like super progress.

i eould suggest a fade on the sides . Donor recovering well too judging from the sides

your hair to scalp color contrast will work well in your favour

This has the potential to be an all time great. Can we have a pic of your donor areas too?

It’s nice to see more Zarev patients on forums because until now they’ve been fairly rare. The body of work that is out there is as good as you can get.

His techniques are proving to be revolutionary in the field. Barring a leap in regrowing hair this is the pinnacle of the industry right now.

Norwood 7, on course for full coverage in 1 procedure and a healthy looking donor area too. Elite surgeon!

It looks perfect. You are going to be a solid NW 1-1.5. If they give you the option to do a touch-up in 9 months after the first procedure, do not hesitate and take it :)

4 month update

Hard to tell what’s happening because I’m letting it grow a little longer. Dr Z says starting now the shock loss areas should start to fill back in  Right temple growing in slower than left temple. Still many smaller hairs just starting to poke through my scalp

Norwood 7's coming back from the dead. What a time to be alive

Seriously. It wasn't even a thought in my mind as late as March of 2021. Big thanks to Hugo. Now I'm halfway to being cured. ha. "Back from the dead" lol

Half the time I think it's too high. Half the time I think it's perfect. The amount of grafts I'd have to use to lower vs. using those grafts to thicken the donor area will probably mean I leave it where it is. the other option is to put beard in teh crown and midscalp and use my scalp grafts to push the hairline down, but Dr. Zarev isn't a big fan of beard grafts. I'm 40 now. If I was 27 or something I'd probably try to lower it but it's less of an issue now.

I don't remember, sorry. I didn't take good notes when I was there.

I'm already scheduled in October for second procedure. Probably 2k-2.5k grafts for thickness.

When that hairline thickens and grows you won't think of it as high as you do now and as you say, you are 40 now, this is the hairline that you will keep as 50, 60, 70..

Wow the crown looks great for only 4 months, amazing growth so early on!

I agree about the hairline - it will suit you right into your 70s and with a bit of length it’ll look way better imo. Its a little high but not super high. Zarev had done a really nice natural design. Also, I would wait and see how the crown density looks once it has fully grown in as that area can eat up so many grafts.

That said, if you can lower it a little without sacrificing the density of the mid scalp and crown too much, then why not. Do what you think is best.

Current dates of consultations are... 2026 January.

wow, 2.5 yr wait time for a consult, so 3.5 yrs until surgery I'm guessing?

Just think.....if someone did 3.5 years worth of intense psychotherapy, they could learn to accept and embrace baldness and no longer have any need for hair transplants 🤣

Yes, they told me 1 -1.5 year till surgery from a consult. So it's total 3.5 - 4 years

I think there will be many cancellations due to this long period of waiting. You know, people die etc. 😆
