Regular Member Mr. Oberholtzer Posted September 20, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted September 20, 2021 Dude that looks amazing! Another fine transplant by Dr. Yaman. Ill bet you are stoked to have it finally done, I know I was. Don't worry when the transplanted hairs fall out, all of mine came out between weeks 4 and 5 (post op). Its totally normal and they will come back in around weeks 11-14.
digi23
Day 13 So had some fun counting transplanted grafts, putting dots on each one, my camera is not awesome but I think my counting is correct-ish. Many doubles/triples/quads in there so thats pretty good. Only one or two singles( use them in the hairline instead for gods sake ) Was inspired by some @Rolandas video This one is about 44cm/2 Edited September 22, 2021 by digi23

digi23
Day 21, 3 weeks update. Everything is pretty much healed now just a little pink skin on the recipient area. Alot of shedding has happened aswell. However the donor area is abit of a concern. Hopefully its just some shock loss but I am not sure? Just discussing why there is so sparse up top in my donor. I think there was not any more extraction in that area than anywhere else, so it might just be some shock loss that hopefully return? Precisely for this reason that you are only three weeks after the procedure, you cannot know if it is a shock loss or something else.

Senior Member Britanium Posted September 30, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2021 What I’m seeing with your donor area is possible shock loss.

However the donor area is abit of a concern, they did extract to high I think and its pretty visible now with even longer hair about 0.8mm-1cm I think it is now. The photo which compares is SHORTER its about 4-6mm. Hopefully its just some shock loss but I am not sure? Yeah I wouldn't worry, it's most certainly shock loss. Look at your post op pics, the concentration of extractions, or amount of follicles taken per cm2, looks to be no different than the part of your head below this area which is not experiencing shock loss. It wouldn't make sense then for this area to now be noticeably thinner than the area below if the number of hairs taken is ultimately very similar. Besides, your extractions were spaced out just fine and it's clear you weren't over-harvested! Give it 2 or 3 months and I'm sure it'll start to improve.

Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted October 11, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted October 11, 2021 I would not be concerned about the donor. It's just shock loss and you are only four weeks or so post op. It will sort itself out in the coming months. The next two months are going to be hard so try your best to ignore them. I know you will be in for a happy ride over the long haul. Wishing you all the best and I look forward to your updates! 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

But soon the growth will start!
digi23
Update, approx 5 weeks. Nothing to interesting, a little bit less red/pink. Donor still have some shock loss(hopefully). Experiencing alot of big pimples in the donor area, especially where the shock loss have happened, should be a good thing. Some pimples appearing aswell in the recipient. Regular Member SGT Posted October 18, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2021 I just got back from getting mine done with him. Your detailed review was one of the reasons why I chose him actually! My experience very similar to yours. I'm glad I chose him. Mine was 4800 grafts so a bit more than yours but so far it is progressing well as yours did.

Senior Member asterix0 Posted October 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted October 18, 2021 You are fair skinned so don't worry about the redness it is to be expected. Just try to avoid the sun for some period of time until it subsides.
Regular Member SGT Posted October 21, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted October 21, 2021 @digi23 I may do my own review but it's so nice to see into the future with yours! I appreciate you doing this and am hoping you continue throughout the process. I'm on day 6 and all is healing very well so far.
digi23
6 weeks. My hair is getting longer, want to do low fade haircut soon so I dont have to touch the recipient area, do not see any better progress on the shock loss yet. Some hair have continued to grow while most maybe 90% or so have shed. Maybe in 1,5 month it will be time for growth! digi23
Another update: There has been some questions about if Dr Yaman is using loops during extraction, I answered before that I did not see the extraction guy with loops when I turned up when he was showing me a 5 hair graft. They seem to be using it though as I saw this photo on his Instagram the other day. 1
