Like most of you, I have been a silent reader here. Now I would like to return the favor by sharing my experience.

My background:
Currently I am 34 years old. The hair loss started a little over 10 years ago. I was aware from the beginning that I would eventually do HT. Then about 1.5 years ago (fall 2019) I contacted doctors for the first time. Based on the forum, I had chosen the following doctors: Koray Erdogan, Kaan Pekiner, Erkan Demirsoy and HLC. I received two responses at that time: Start with Finasteride, then they would re-evaluate the situation later. Finasteride had a noticeable effect. Fortunately, I have no side effects. A year later, the consistent feedback was that situation is good now and HT can be done.
After very informative discussions with Mr. Clemens Weber, I had actually already decided on Dr. Demirsoy last fall. Unfortunately, the first two proposed appointments did not fit for me. In this phase I had doubts whether I should do a manual HT, because my donor was viewed somewhat critically in advance and I could do the whole thing more gently with the manual variant. I can answer with a clear "I don't know" whether the manual removal justifies the almost twice as high amount. But together with the fact that Dr. Pekiner would also use beard hair, I decided after informative discussions with Mehmet (works for Dr. Kaan Pekiner) to perform the surgery with him.
I must emphasize here that the decision for Dr. Pekiner does not mean that something is bad about the other doctors. I only noticed one doctor who was negative. This was not due to the doctor himself, but to the very unfriendly contact person.
The last uncertainty came about two weeks ago, when I saw a video of Joe Tillman about multi-grafts and microscopes. Unfortunately, there were conflicting statements in the forums about the use of microscopes by Dr. Pekiner. Fortunately, it turns out that microscopes are used at Dr. Pekiner.

On 27. 01 I flew to Ankara. Transfer and hotel were organized by the team beforehand.
On 28. 01. at 08:30 the much described process with meeting, hairline definition etc. began. I had only one small change request to the hairline proposed by Dr. Pekiner. Unlike many other doctors in Turkey who consider themselves gods in white, Dr. Pekiner was very empathetic. Often he could not immediately share my observation, but took time to see it from my "point of view".
In all, the surgery took place over 2.5 days. I will spare you the usual information about lunch, etc.
The injections were associated with some pain. But you have to put up with that. The removal and insertion did not hurt. Only in certain places the skin seemed to be a little more sensitive.
Dr. Pekiner did the work, one assistant was with him and a second was busy separating the grafts.
Towards the end I also asked for a PRP treatment. Subsequently, this was also performed. To my surprise, Dr. Pekiner gave the PRP treatment as a gift. In addition, the team organized a supply of Finasteride and Biotin for me.

I am now back home and waiting for everything to heal. In the meantime I go to the bathroom every 5 minutes to check the result.

Goodness gracious that is a clean looking surgery. Looks very dense too. Pekiner is on the higher side for price right? I'm compiling a short list for my second HT once Covid slows down (god willing) and his work looks fantastic. Good luck OP!

rob7331, you have to see the price relatively. Compared to the doctors who use a micromotor, it is more expensive. But to those who also do it manually, he is good at it. 
Everybody has to decide for himself if the manual removal is worth it. And that the Dr. does the whole process himself.

So far I am satisfied with the surgery and Dr. Kaan. Hopefully, the final result will also be good.

It may be worthwhile to do it during the pandemic because you have little contact with other people during that time.

Thanks 🙏 just curious on how it’s healed. Normally when beard grafts are taken the scarring is hardly noticeable. 
Personally I think he’s very affordable 👌

The density is less than before. I hope it comes back a little.

Your beard is super curly has Pekiner said anything about how itll blend into scalp hair?

He said that my hair is generally a little curly, making it a little more challenging to take out. He also said that the beard hairs are very thick. But other than that, he didn't mention anything. In the picture, the beard hairs look more curly than they actually are.

What was the final price for the 3300 grafts? Also I'm always curious about the beard grafts - so you will basically have to have a keep a beard for the rest of your life to cover up the scars?

Looks like amazing work. Our donors look very similar. Rather weak looking. I'm curious did he tell you what your donor capacity is? I'm assuming it wasn't much more than what you got extracted from it if you already had to go to the beard after just 2400 grafts.

About the beard grafts, where did they put those? All around? Just on the Crown? Midscalp?

I think the price per graft was 2.25 EUR.
I don't think you always have to have a beard. Others who have taken hair from the beard, had no visible scars. But I guess I will see that with me soon.

No, he didn't say what the donor capacity was. But he said it will have capacity afterwards. How much that will be exactly, we could first find out later.
He didn't use the whiskers because the other hairs are exhausted. But if he sees that the hair from the back of the head is not enough, then he mixes in hair from the beard from the beginning.

He transplanted the hair from the beard from the middle head to a few centimeters before the hairline.

I can't wait to see the final result either.

Heeey buddy. Congrats on your surgery and specially wise decision. Pekiner and HLC are elite class in Turkey. Looks clean but now we need to wait. I had my surgery in HLC about 2 months and 3 weeks ago, so we are almost at the same stage now.

I see u are taking finasteride. Wise!. Are u considering switching to dutasteride? I am taking it now and apparently is better than finas for hair loss. Soon I will also start with oral minoxidil (been taking topic for 10 years) and when i reach the 6 or 8 month mark I will start as well with dermapen. Maybe you could do your research about this treatments. You could get surprised about how much the hair can regrow with those.
