A total of 2665 follicular units have been transplanted to the hairline/forelock region. With some futher progression in the forelock, the majority of the front is now transplanted. He has been using Propecia during this time as well.

    This patient in his late 50's received treatment from Dr. True consisting of 2074 follicular units added to the front/top to gain back a more youthful appearance. - Total hairs : 3805 - 534 singles, 1349 doubles, 191 threes - fine hair - donor supply: @ 5000+

    Shapiro....your getting very good density with the most natural possible appearance - above 45 fu cm2 you're getting most likely a more verticle and less natural lay to the grafts, yield may be also be affected

    I agree this patient is lucky in terms of how quickly the HT is developing not only in terms of it just being 3 months but the uniformity of growth that is showing. Typically the regrowth can be more a bit more sporatic and uneven to start - i will keep you updated on his progress.....cheers*

    spanker, hairthere, haircut, spex...thanks for your comments - even at this early stage the framing effect is kicking in....be back with this one in another 3-4 months - the hairs will have more girth and be styleable then.

    Common question asked by patients is "When will I start noticing growth from the procedure?" New growth usually starts anywhere from 2 - 12 weeks. This particular example shows very nice change at only the 3 month mark. Dr. Dorin wanted to reframe this patient's face along the front hairline but also rebuild the temporal areas - which are already well on their way Total hair transplanted - 2665 355 singles, 831 doubles, 216 threes

    thanks Mick....we want the patient to not only see results after one year but for the restoration to be a success 30 years from now...it important that he is willing to use a combined approach and for the doctor to best ration his donor supply in managing future hair loss progression - good planning is needed for long term success.

    This patient had his 3 month follow-up with Dr. Dorin to evaluate the progress of his FUE treatment. Given the patients age (mid 20's) and potential future hair loss, Propecia was recommended and started along with an initial FUE procedure of 831 grafts to rebuild the hairline zone at an appropriate level given his age, donor density, and developing pattern. He is really showing amazing early growth with both the transplantation and effects of Propecia. The gelling of his hair takes away from the natural uniformity of the result but nevertheless its a promising start. Will update around the 6-8 month mark.

    thanks RCw....very happy with the coverage so far, encouraged Propecia to round things out but that may not be part of the patient's plans..will be back in the late spring for an update
