  1. Capelli11......a second treatment is a subjective decision for the patient but given the area it was a tight packing and with the quality of his hair I expect he will be in great shape...fortunately his thinning is just frontal he chose FUE to avoid having stitches and desired the most flexibility in terms of hair style
  2. about 40/sq.cm....i completely bald skin usually shoot for about 45 - 50...at that level we can still utilize a mix of follicular units while still being able to produce the acute angles necessary for a natural lay to the hairline.
  3. i like this result so far......transgender cases can be challenging...an auspicious start*
  4. Dr. True followed-up with this patient at the 8.5 month mark. This follicular unit transplant consisted of 2281 follicular units, of which 823 are singles, 1396 doubles, and 62 threes. A total of 3,801 hairs transplanted. Started Propecia a month prior to the procedure.
  5. cant decide.........the reason why this result after just 1500 grafts was so impactful is that there was a synergy achieved between natural lay and orientation of the grafts, the very high yield "survival" of grafts and managing the donor area, with priority to create a very inconspicuous scar. This is always how Dr. Dorin approaches each patient. You also have to lend an ear to the patient's needs and/or desires and consider variables such as donor density, the quality of the hair follicles, the malleability of the skin, and such. If you look at this recent post: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/153059-dr-dorin-fut-2502-after-5-months.html you see that we've treated a similar area but what the patient brought to the table in terms of older age, donor density, potential balding pattern, quality of hair - it influenced the way in which Dr. Dorin approached the case. Each restoration is unique to the patient.
  6. thanks Capelli11 - the "nape" area is susceptible to thinning with age and not considered a "safe" permanent zone - also there tends to be more potential for visible scarring in nape skin there is a centralized donor area between the nape and upper fringe of one's balding pattern that can be considered permanent - the post-op donor photos for this patient actually show the range of this area very well
  7. zo1279 - thanks for checking in.....this is an international patient, i have reached out to him to see if we can get an photographic update on his progress - stay tuned
  8. Richlol - it is likely that this patient will wear his hair in a very short style as this is a common motivation for going with FUE but he certainly can grow his hair longer as the treatment develops - will keep you posted on his choice ziggy00 - the patient has pleasantly reported that many of his grafts are continuing to grow and shockloss has not been an issue - while its likely a good percentage of the grafts may ultimately shed their hair, he has responded well thus far and probably is slightly ahead of the game as the development period commences.
  9. appreciate the comment Louise - this is true , there may be some cosmetic improvements over the next few months - most patients will have a pretty good sense of the overall result around the 10 - 12 month mark.
  10. This is an update to to thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/161214-dr-dorin-1508-frontal-fut.html Ken just had his 2nd session with Dr. Dorin consisting of 1008 grafts - 244 singles, 566 doubles and 198 threes: 1,970 hairs transplanted. The initial donor scar from the first procedure was replaced. Please see the video link below for a view of his result from HT#1 with short hair and a glimpse into Dr. Dorin performing HT#2:
  11. Janna.....another nice result from Dr. Ron.....thank you for the detailed presentation as well.....this is a more challenging case than may appear because of the fine nature of his hair and potential hair loss pattern - and i suspect there was a little give and take between native and transplanted hair....well designed and realistic outcome....seems like he could benefit from Propecia in the crown if he isn't using it already
  12. Hey guys.....here is our current consent form as well....we've provided a form such as this with modifications over the last 20 years or so. It's important to understand that informed consent for surgery is not just a piece of paper - it certainly is a critical tool in the process but there also has to be a very thorough disclosure of information in dialog between doctor and patient. This is a standard part of our consultation and pre-op preparation - we also provide a 16 page information booklet for our prospective patients. I've attached the form as PDF - just rotate the document for viewing 228210 True & Dorin Consent Form_.pdf
  13. At 8 months, this patient result is almost fully developed. Some subtle cosmetic improvements can be expected over the next 4 months. The treatment by Dr. Dorin consisted of 1577 follicular units to the front and top region of thinning. Of the follicular units transplanted, 436 are singles, 1065 are doubles, and 76 are threes - a total of 2794 hairs.
  14. To set the record straight, the insinuation that Corvettester was encouraged, compensated, and/or employed by True & Dorin is absolutely false. Corv is just a very enthusiastic, passionate individual who really embraced his hair loss journey and sincerely enjoyed being involved in the vibrant environment the HTN forum has engendered.
  15. mick, aseda1979, ken1969, jessi1, corv, nhp, aseda1979....all of your comments are well-said....thanks*
  16. Patient presented to the doctors with a class 4 --> 5 requesting FUE restoration. The initial session was performed by Dr. Dorin with focus the the frontal 1/2 of the balding pattern. In this session, 1891 grafts were extracted and transplanted of which 884 are singles, 934 doubles, and 73 threes. On the second day, Dr. True continued by extracting 584 grafts consisting of 273 singles, 275 doubles and 33 threes - grafts were added to the top and into the vertex. A total of 3858 hairs.
  17. Joe.....super early growth, looks great so far 3 questions: What is the graft breakdown? Is he on Propecia? Do you know what his total donor supply is? look forward to the progress on this one OH
  18. This patient presented for follow-up at the 12 month mark. Dr. Dorin's restoration consisted of 2355 follicular units, of which 716 singles, 1338 doubles, and 301 threes - 4295 hairs. Donor supply - @5500 Ultra fine hair Propecia regimen for crown See this case study on our website at patient 2355
  19. thanks Mick....hairsprint - every patient is unique as far as hair texture, caliber, color but if that is your pattern is a nice one to work with......best of luck*
