  1. Jj, it depends on whether you’re using 1% or 2% to be honest. In my opinion, don’t use Nizoral 2% more than 2 or 3 times a week because it can be harsh in the scalp. The 1% contains less of the ketoconazole and thus can be used more frequently. Alternatively, you can use Revita shampoo which contains the same 1% but also contains other ingredients that keep the hair soft so you can use it every day. Best wishes, Bill
  2. And looking at your photos, I don’t feel that 2500 grafts will be enough to give me that kind of coverage and density that you may be looking for. That said, there’s always that second procedure but it sounds like you want to get as much done as possible the first time. In my opinion, stripped surgery may be the way to go then but you seem on interested in undergoing that procedure. I assume it’s because you are concerned about a linear scar? As a sidenote, but related, I find it interesting how many people today are so concerned about the possibility of a linear scar when my attitude from the very beginning when I underwent all four of my procedures was that I could care less if I had a star on the sides and back of my head as long as I had all my hair back on top. Yet today, almost all prospective patients are so concerned that they will have a linear scar, even though in most cases it’s very well concealed by the hair on the sides and back of your scalp even at short lengths. Makes me wonder why there was a shift in attitude over the years, perhaps because of the marketing that FUE is a scarless procedure… Even though that’s not true. Don’t get me wrong, if you could undergo surgery and obtain a full looking head of hair with even less scarring via FUE, then I can understand why people would choose it. However, FUE is still much more expensive then strip and I personally would rather pay less to get a full walking head of hair with a nominal linear scar that nobody will ever see anyway. That of course is my personal opinion. best wishes, Bill
  3. Encina, I know a lot of others have already stated this, but why in the world are you even considering a hair transplant? In my opinion, you remind me of a young individual who has lost maybe the smallest bit of hair and thinks that hair transplant surgery will stop the progression of hair loss and help them keep every single hair on their head since they’re high school glory days. This is not possible and since you appear quite young, I suggest getting on Propecia and/or Rogaine to help stop the progression of hair loss and forget about hair transplant surgery unless you experience a significant amount more balding. Best wishes, Bill
  4. I used to keep my hair transplant a secret in the beginning but I’m sure people knew even though I didn’t want them to. After all, I went from having essentially no hair to almost a full head of hair again. That’s number one. But later on, I decided that I would tell people because I was no longer ashamed of it. And everybody I told was very fascinated and depressed. So like Melvin said, it’s probably not worth keeping a secret to your loved ones.
  5. But is your hair that long now? I’d so let’s see the pictures 🙂.
  6. Thanks for sharing this Melvin, I’d be curious to hear what other members have to say regarding their experience with shedding, how they felt about it and at what point do hair started to grow back. Best, Bill
  7. Non-surgical solutions and hair loss treatments can be marginally effective for some individuals. The key is to catch hair loss early since most of them to a much better job at preventing additional hair loss than regrowing hair and thinning or ball areas. But which treatments can be trusted? Below, we published an article on some of the most popular treatments that have at least some level of success rate. Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatments that Really Work. What are your thoughts? Share your personal experiences or opinion with any of the treatments mentioned in this article or other ones as well.
  8. @Kraistoff, Thanks for sharing your progress pictures as you go through each stage. I know personally how hard of the docking fees is. You experience all these doubts and worry that the hair won’t come back but then they sign of hope… You feel like there may be a new hair coming through the skin. And if you think there is, there probably is. But most the time, the hair that comes back in at first is thin, colorless and wispy. But over time, these Harris will darken, second and be the caliber of your natural hair. I know you were a little anxious and nervous at the stage as we all are, but hanging in there. Several more weeks to go and you should start seeing some signs of growth. It could take anywhere up to five months to see some growth sprouting but you might experienced it around three months. Please keep us posted, Bill
  9. I see this particular product by ShapiroMD posted as an ad on Facebook literally every day. It seems that they are doing a lot of aggressive marketing which I find interesting. The fact that they claim that this particular product is the most powerful DHT blocker on the market is troublesome to me because none of the ingredients other than the saw palmetto have been shown to stop the production of DHT. And even saw palmetto is only a mild DHT inhibitor and frankly, it’s been tried ( with varying degrees of potency and quantity I might add) in a multitude of other hair loss treatments over the last decade or two with absolutely no success. In my opinion, anybody who is serious about restoring their hair or at least stopping the progression of pattern baldness should consider Propecia and Rogaine. Minoxidil has virtually no real side effects if used correctly and while Propecia does come with a possibility of some pretty serious side effects, anyone who does experience them can move to try topical finasteride Finasteride is the active ingredient in Propecia and went apply topically, it’s my understanding that side effects our virtually nonexistent. Then for women, finasteride it’s not really an option but they could consider Spironolactone which is pretty harsh win taken orally but potentially quite effective also. Topical Spironolactone maybe a bit less affective however, it’s my understanding that side effects or also virtually nonexistent. Best wishes, Bill
  10. @LordBaldwin, Typically, we don’t allow posts two other discussion forums because they don’t typically allow old posts back to us. However, since this poster is in the process of making an important decision, I will leave your posts because it will help him make a decision. I posted 4 examples That have been posted by patients very recently. It only took me 10 minutes to collect all the links and read through the topics to see that these posters have share their experience and then their end result which they were very happy with. If I was the original poster, I would be searching this doctor‘s name on this forum for hours and frankly, he would find dozens additional examples of patient posted results were very happy. Only two patients that have confirmed themselves as patience and are fully matured in their growth have expressed genuine concerns. Bill
  11. @PGDMMB, I am happy to send you some examples but if you research at all, you should’ve been able to find a multitude of them. I spent 10 minutes looking for examples and found 4 patient posted results that are very recent and they are all very happy. And they’re hairlines look fantastic. I posted the fifth one because even though many more months are needed before the result comes in, he obviously looks on par to have outstanding results. I’m sure they will look fantastic when they grow in. Remember, this is after I looked around for only 10 minutes. If you take some time to look around, you’ll find a whole lot more.
  12. Raptor, You might find a troublesome, but this is our policies and in accordance to the terms of service you agreed with when you signed up. If you are going to share your experience and make claims that you’ve had bad results, then you may be required to post pictures and privately identify yourself to one of the moderators so that we can notify the clinic in order to give them the ability to share their side of the story. That’s the only way to keep this discussion forum balanced and fair. Again, you’ve been asked to do this so you are expected to cooperate. Are you going to send Melvin or myself your information like you were asked or not? Moreover, you are just barely 6 months out from surgery, you do understand that it takes six months to see the final results right? Bottom line, you’re not even close to mature ration yet, so you need to wait it out and I suggest being patient and calming down. Bill
  13. @Payam, But what you are missing is that there are far more positive results than the bad ones that you’re referencing. Frankly, I’ve seen a couple results that may be questionable and only two that I have seen have been confirmed patients of the clinic. Others have made comments but have not substantiated that they were actually patients. If I did a search on this forum, I would find a multitude of satisfied patients and even more excellent results posted by the clinic. As I said, two results that are a bit questionable compared to dozens of positive results does not make the clinic unreputable and subpar. Frankly, I happen to agree with the above post your dad it certainly seems that you have an agenda here to persuade other members not to go to this clinic and frankly, this goes against our policy is as you are unfairly maligning this Dr.. He has recommending here for good reason. At this point, I feel that you’ve had your say and I don’t want to see you going from topic to topic trying to persuade members not to go to this doctor just because you seem to have an agenda against him. Frankly, if you were making valid point I would support your ongoing involvement however, you’re just paddling the same garbage that’s not even accurate and it’s affecting peoples lives. So at this point, I asked that you move onto other topics and keep off of this one. Regards, Bill
  14. I too would like to know where the 8 patient rumor came from. That said, I will speak to the clinic to see just how many patients they actually do work on each day. Bill
  15. @Cristian1, I went back through your posts because I was curious why somebody with essentially no posts see there name is so negative about a world renowned doctor and Clinic. It seems like just about every post that you have made is about Dr. Erdogan and says something negative. How are you exactly? Are you a prospective patient? Have you not actually seen the multitude of impressive results posted not only by the clinic but by most of his patients? You seem overly concerned about his procedure and even your statement above doesn’t make sense. Out of everything you read, you’re only response is related to one small statement made by one other posterior about opening another clinic on the number of patients they allegedly work on it each day? Don’t get me wrong, you’re all entitled to your opinion and certainly, if you wish to doctor to be more involved, then that’s your right. But to make statements that unfairly maligned him and his clinic win most of his patients are very happy with outstanding results, makes no sense. What is your agenda and motives here? Because it certainly seems to me that you’re not looking through all the information, you only get tech on some of the potential disadvantages even though it doesn’t affect the overall end results. Bill
  16. That’s OK, you are entitled to expect your surgeon to do more of the procedure however, there is nothing wrong or illegal about what Dr. Erdogan Is doing. The walls are very different in Turkey and while I to personally like more involvement from the surgeon personally, we can’t let our personal preferences cause us to make on fair statements. Frankly, I’m very impressed by the work that comes out of the clinic overall and that includes the primary member complaining on this topic. best wishes, Bill
  17. @HT0416 You have expressed your concerns and shared your experience and photos. Frankly, your results look great (photo below) so I really don’t even understand your complaint. That said, it’s obvious that want to taint others perceptions and aren’t just here to share your own experience. At this point, I don’t feel that you are providing anything constructive on this topic or on this form for that matter. I suggest you stick to sharing your own experience and stop trying to distort reality. I get that you don’t like your own hair transplants for whatever reason however, Dr. Erdogan does great work and it’s proven on this forum by his patients and buy what the clinic post on a regular basis. It’s now time for you to move on from this topic is your distortions could really hurts other people‘s decisions. Bill
  18. Did you even read the post that I made previously on the topic? Air transplant surgery is a team effort and yes, he does do some of the work himself. Everything he does is perfectly legal and Turkey and he produces many outstanding results. In fact, I believe somebody posted a picture of you showing the full head of hair. It’s implied that you went to Dr. Erdogan yourself. Am I wrong about this? What exactly don’t you like about your results? Bill
  19. I’m going to remove this post because it’s not fair to make comments like this without approving it and doing so would then violate someone’s confidence. Instead, let posters come forward and share their own experience and results. Please stick to share your own experience and results instead of speculating or claiming people are in your inbox saying one thing or another. Bill
  20. 64 years young is not old. And you’re hair is looking great so far. How are you feeling about it? best wishes, Bill
  21. Aftermath, wow, your hair transplant looks amazing and you’re only 6 months post op. I look forward to seeing how things look in another 6 months though it’s jard to imagine it any thicker ?. Best wishes, Bill
  22. Everyone, I need to chime in here because the drama surrounding Dr. Erdogan is getting to be ridiculous. The bottom line is this, EVERY surgeon, even those who all of you consider the BEST have dissatisfied patients and less than optimal results. It’s impossible to bat a thousand and that’s just reality. Just because a few individuals have had poor results, doesn’t mean that a surgeon is less than reputable or isn’t doing state of the art work. Moreover, I know some have expressed concerns about technicians harvesting the follicular units. However, while this practice may be considered illegal in the United States, it’s perfectly legal in Turkey. Also, Dr. Erdogan is very meticulous and watches over his staff to ensure everything is being done properly Now, I know it’s scary and disheartening when a patient comes forward and shares their results that are subpar. However, we need to take things as a whole and not work only at the couple results that arent optimal. Now by no means do I intend to discount any ones individual experience. How they feel is how they feel and if the results are poor, then my suggestion is to discuss their concerns with the doctor and give him a chance to make things right. Dr. Erdogan (and Dr. Reddy since he was mentioned) is still doing outstanding work. In fact, Pat, the publisher of this community recently spoke with one of Dr. Erdogan’s staff and was very impressed by the work they are currently doing. I too have been impressed and the results presented both by patience and clinic on a regular basis are top notch. The truth is, the majority rules. What I mean by that is, the vast majority of results presented by his staff and patients online have been very impressive. My advice to the original poster is to keep their procedure with Dr. Erdogan as there is plenty of evidence demonstrating that he is still one of the best. However, if he does choose to back out, that’s totally his right however, if he paid a deposit, he may not get that back. Many surgeons don’t give deposit back so I’m just putting that out there as a general rule. However, in my opinion there is no reason to be concerned and I personally would choose Dr. Erdogan for my procedure in a heartbeat. Onwards and Upwards, Bill p.s. while people may disagree with certain aspects, let’s be a good example to the original poster and be professional and respectful when responding. He is trying to make a decision and ongoing drama is only going to push him further into confusion.
  23. Able, Lord only knows why the links I provided I’m no longer working however, I will get to the bottom of that. In the meantime, I suggest clicking on his recommendation profile which can be found at https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/doctors.asp?DrID=681&DrName=Dr. Resul Yaman There, you can Few several of his patient results by clicking on the tab called “patient results” or something similar on his profile. You can also use the “church“ feature of this discussion forum to find other examples of his results on this forum. Best wishes, Bill
  24. Using non-surgical solutions like Rogaine, low level laser therapy and even Propecia may help minimize post operative hair transplant shock loss however, there is no guarantee that this will help. If they don’t, the good news is shock loss/telogen effluvium is typically temporary and is usually only permanent if the hairs lost were already dying and on their way out due to male pattern baldness anyway. I remember being very concerned after at least two of my four hair transplants about shock loss but thankfully, all of the shocked hair did return. What is everyone’s opinion on this? Don’t forget to click the link and read the article ? . Best wishes, Bill
  25. Melvin, This is a great article and frankly, I never even heard of this medication so it’s good that we’ve addressed this topic, especially for those people who suffer from diabetes and happen to take this medication. A lot of people want to know what medications cause hair loss and there are so many medications out there that it’s possible to create an exclusive list… Especially because new treatments are becoming available for just about every ailmemt all the time. I know a few people who suffer from diabetes but I don’t know if they are taking Metformin. So I may actually send them the link to this article just in case. Keep up the great work. Bill
