  1. Jp, Congratulations on your obviously good decision to get a hair transplant with Dr. Rahal. Your six month progress pictures look outstanding. I’ve always been very impressed by his results, especially his hairlines. I trust you’ll be very happy especially as it continues to grow and thicken in the next several months. Best wishes, Bill
  2. For the record, there is no such thing as FUT versus FUE. FUE is one of the two donor harvesting techniques of FUT. The other one is tricky surgery or follicular unit strip surgery / FUSS. That said, strip surgery is still a very viable done harvesting technique that produces outstanding results. That is, assuming you’ve chosen an excellent surgeon which obviously you did with Dr. Konior. Best wishes, Bill
  3. I understand what it’s like to want to get everything done all at once. Believe me, I would have less hair on the top of my scalp than you did in the beginning if I never had any hair transplant surgery. In fact, I wouldn’t have any hair on top of my head. Of course, I had an exceptional donor hair supply and I was able to get 9600 grafts over four hair transplant procedures. However, not everybody needs that many and results can still look terrific even with a much reduced number… Just depends largely on hair characteristics hand placement, etc. I’m sure your results will turn out great and then you can always go for subsequent procedures to add coverage and density. But for now, while you wait for the first hair transplant to grow, you can always use concealer at work which will likely help camouflage the fact that you had hair transplant work done. Best wishes, Bill
  4. @Legend007, Thank you for such a nice complement. I appreciate it. Best wishes, Bill
  5. Literalno, For the record, I have been contacted by numerous members who believe you are a troll. I never said you were one however, based on the way you speak to people sometimes, it does seem like it’s possible. And I have no problem with you sharing your general opinion. But you did a lot more than just not glorify my hair transplant. You literally said my hairline is pluggy. Then when I explained to you why it looks that way in a couple photos, you said that you find that hard to believe. That’s essentially calling me a liar. What exactly do you call it? Straight up, there is just a way to talk to people and there is a way not to. I didn’t mind your first question about my hairline and I even answered you without any calls for delay or thinking you were up to no good. But your follow-up badgering and insults are evidence that you may in fact be what other members have suspected. We certainly welcome you to share your genuine opinion and experience is here. But there are ways to be respectful without insulting people. Considering I’ve had over 9600 grafts on a fully bald head, and my hair transplant is virtually undetectable, I do personally find your recent comments insulting. However, I have thick skin and certainly don’t care what one anonymous forum member thinks. But think about how insecure you are now about your hair loss… And to the point where you’ve decided to undergo hair transplant surgery. Now let’s say that you are very excited about your hair and you show it on this forum. Then, you get comments about your pluggy looking hairline. I doubt you will necessarily be too happy about that. In fact, most people don’t have thick skin like me and probably would be very upset especially since they’ve spent a plethora of cash to look better, not worse. And a pluggy hairline is worse than being bald in my opinion. I think the best thing to do at this point is to quit while you’re ahead. You’ve provided your input on my topic, now it’s time for you to post on other topics. Best regards, Bill
  6. Legend, Thank you so much for all the compliments, that means a lot to us. We’ve worked hard to not only innovate and create a unique and distinct forum with features that make it easy to find information and the best doctors, but we believe in holding doctors accountable for their actions and will always work to help patients resolve their issues and concerns In the event that one of our recommended doctors no longer stands behind their patients or it becomes obvious that there is a problem, their recommendation will be promptly discontinued. By the way, how do you like the actual usability and cosmetics of this news for him compared to other forums and in compared to the old one? Best wishes, Bill
  7. Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong, Thanks for presenting another exceptional case of your hair transplant results. The first before and after photo showing the top of the scalp shows the most significant change. The patient must be very thrilled with his results. Keep up the great work Bill
  8. Made2care, if you are at least 10 days post ok, maybe you can consider trying some concealer such as DermMatch, Toppik, etc. these concealers can be applied thick or thin and recreate an appearance of hair that suits what you are going for. I suggest learning more about concealers which I believe may be your best bet here. Best wishes, Bill
  9. Legend, Also, currently that today’s post this link shows all of the posts but it will show you them as posts instead of topics. That means, if a particular topic was updated five times in one day, it will show up five different times but clicking on each link will take you to each individual‘s post on that topic. Personally, I find that a bit irritating so I’m in the process of having that changes. However, to change that manually temporarily, click on today’s posts and then click on the “show filters” option. Then click “show“ and choose “content only”. See the below screenshot.
  10. If you recall, my hair is usually short with my hair combed forward and my bangs spiked. However, this is more of an experiment to grow my hair long to see what it looks like. I’m not really interested in Syling it to the side with a side part because frankly, I’m not a fan of that hairstyle. I understand the style maybe consider dating, but I’m growing it out longer so we will see what it looks like then ?
  11. Just so you know, my first hair transplant was not with Dr. True. It is with Dr. Katz of Philadelphia. My second hair transplant was with Dr. True and my third and fourth hair transplant were with Dr. Hasson. Bill
  12. Literal no, I have literally had several reports from people who think you are a troll and ironically, just about every time I post something, you criticize me which I find ironic considering I’ve done nothing but try to help you. I don’t know exactly who you are or if you are a real genuine prospective patient or not. But I have already explained how harsh lighting impacts Howell a result looks. And you’re trying to tell me that you find it hard to believe? Is there a particular reason why you doubt what I’m saying? Why would I lie? I am the managing publisher of this community for a reason. It’s also strange that you would ask for another picture when I have already provided additional pictures in this topic. You also saw pictures of my hairline provided by Melvin in another topic and I know you saw them so it’s obvious at this point you are just trolling and starting trouble. I will give you one more chance because it possible you are a genuine prospective patient to be more respect full and actually listen when people are providing you with Information. We have no reason to lie to you here so what we tell you is either our strong opinions or 100% the truth. In this case, there are dozens if not hundreds of topics dedicated to how lighting impacts the way a hair transplant looks. Bill
  13. You have to remember that these photos were taken under the harshest lighting conditions - fluorescent bathroom lighting. I challenge anyone who has has a hair transplant to date take photos under these harsh lighting conditions that typically makes when the thickest hair transplant look thin and most hairlines see-through. That said, while my hairline may look a little harsh under these lighting conditions I can assure you that it doesn’t in real life and in most photos taken under normal or natural lighting conditions. Thanks for your questions Bill
  14. Ram Babu, While I do agree with Melvin that it does appear to be a version/form of alopecia areata, I strongly recommend consulting a dermatologist or a trichologist ASAP. It is important that you rule out any other potential issues that might be causing this before making assumptions. Remember, we are educated hair transplant patients but we are not doctors. Therefore, we can only advise you based on our limited knowledge and based on what we see and hear from you. So in my opinion, while we certainly value your contributions here and hope you continue posting, please make an appointment with a dermatologist soon as possible and then come back and tell us what the results are. Because if there is some medical issues causing this, treating the medical condition may reverse the hair loss without any need for traditional hair loss treatments. I hope this helps and I hope you follow this advice. Best wishes, Bill
  15. Time really does fly doesn’t it? My first hair transplant was only about a year before yours. Perhaps it’s time for you to share some updated photos of your hair ? Best wishes, Bill
  16. Thanks Legend, I remember several years ago I was standing in the gym speaking to a female friend of mine named Lisa. I don’t know exactly why we were talking about this, but I think she was venting about all the females that I’ve had breast implants. And then she made a statement that it’s not like all these guys run out and get hair transplants when they are bald. She then made a statement that she be able to spot a hair transplant from a mile away. Mind you, she was standing but one or 2 feet away from me. I asked her if she was sure she gets spot one and she said absolutely. Then I asked her, “what if I told you that I had a hair transplant?” She looked at my hair and said “NO WAY” probably about a dozen times as she smiled and laughed and couldn’t believe that I had a hair transplant. She had no idea hair transplants could look so natural and she kept encouraging me to tell everybody so that they too could we grow real hair again. And then I told her where I work and what I do and she just couldn’t believe it. Just goes to show that people today still have no idea how natural hair transplants are. best wishes, Bill
  17. That’s a good question Melvin. I’m not exactly sure how long I intend on growing up. Probably not too terribly long, but I was thinking of potentially growing it down to my chin. That of course does seem pretty long in comparison to what my hair looks like now. But I thought I would give it a shot because I’d like to compare my hair long now to what it look like in high school long. However, I’m not so sure that I want to keep it long… This is more of an experimentation. However, i’m having fun with it and I kind of like it the way it is at the moment so I guess we will see. ?
  18. Hopefulnewyorker, I agree that Dr. Konior is one of the best and he will certainly take excellent care of you. To be honest, he is probably one of the most thorough, hands-on hair transplant surgeons I know. He is also very genuine, down-to-earth and cares deeply about his patients. Best wishes, Bill
  19. Here’s another photo that I just took, it shows my hair kind of curly. This is how my hair gets when it grows longer if I don’t brush it and keep it under a hat. I actually kind of like it like this.
  20. And no there are no filters on these images. I did use an alternative picture imaging and editing program to take the photos but that’s only because I like that it doesn’t flip the photo when taking reverse selfies.
  21. So as I’ve told everybody in another topic I created a couple months ago, I’ve been growing my hair for fun. It’s actually very reminiscent of my hairstyle when I was in my early 20s. But after that, I started losing my hair and decided that I could no longer wear my hair long. It looks good for a while but by the time I was 25, it was so thin that I started wearing a hat all the time. By the age of 27, I started researching hair transplants and found this forum. That was in 2004 if you can I’ll believe that. I was almost completely bald and would be a full blown Norwood 5A or 6 now if it wasn’t for for hair transplant procedures and 9600 Grafts. So with that said, I thought I would post a few photos I took of myself at a recent event. Yes, it is the shameless bathroom selfie… Please forgive me but I am a hair geek through and through and thus, I felt compelled to take a few photos.
  22. Thanks everyone, I need to take some new pictures and post them, but in the meantime, here are two photos I took recently. Yes, they are the shameless bathroom selfie LOL.
  23. I also recommend viewing my hair loss patient website which contains many pictures and links to all the forum topics where I document my progress.
  24. I think this is a great Post on something that should be addressed more frequently. Long-term detectability… Does a hair transplant stand up to the test of time? Well I can tell you from experience, it sure does. That is, assuming you’ve selected an outstanding hair transplant surgeon and have gotten the results you want. I can tell you from personal experience, that 10 years plus later, I’m still very happy with my results and I have actually been growing my hair just for fun to see what it looks like Long. When I was in my 20s, are used to wear my hair this way and I’ve been growing it out to see if I can make it look similar. Are used to wear my hair quite short and probably will again when I’m done experimenting. But for now, my hair actually looks thicker and covers the sitting area is even better now that it’s longer. In my opinion, do your due diligence in researching hair transplant surgeons and select one that you are most impressed with. The surgeon was recommended by our community have been prescreened and recommended based on demanding standards provided by patients. I suggest clicking the button at the top of this forum to find a prescreened surgeon. You can also use the search feature of this forum to see what their patients are saying. Best wishes, Bill
