  1. And a final note about these prices. Bicer charges 1.5 for motorized extractions with pre-made incisions, 2.5 for manual extractions. HLC is only manual extraction and only stick and place technique.
  2. Oh, I agree. But I'm not sure about the OP's math. 4000 grafts with Bicer is 6k Euro. HLC should be 10k if he can get them to price @ 2.5 (instead of 2.7). That's a 4k difference. Still a lot of money, but is within his budget.
  3. When I was researching my first transplant, I never came across Bicer. Even today, there's just not a lot of patient cases (I can say the same thing for Ferreira), just not much evidence. Today, on this forum there's not a lot of HLC patient cases, even fewer Bicer cases. But HLC has a lot more patient cases on other forums and a good number of videos. Price comparison is difficult to me. If Bicer is $2/graft and Konior is $16/graft... is he really 8X better? If HLC is $3/graft, are they 50% better? It's a terrible way to compare talented doctors. And as a community, we always say don't let price make the decision for you. Always look at results and you'll naturally gravitate towards one. I agree that at the 2.5 Euro/graft price, there's many options available... Pinto, Vila, BHR Spain, Pekiner, Maras, etc. as you're list says. In my opinion, they are all pretty equal. I wouldn't call it an upgrade unless I move into the 4-5 Euro/graft, ala De Freitas, Bisanga, Feriduni, Lorenzo. It does kinda seem the levels are priced in. 1-2 Euro... 2-3 Euro... 3-5 Euro... then American/Canadian crazy prices. Haha!
  4. Yeah, it'll depend on the results. But a sub-100 graft procedure will be cheap and easy. And I won't have to shave much since those grafts will likely come from nape of the neck. This is how I wear my hair usually. Like a 0.5 on the bottom and around the ears...
  5. You can see what I did for my temples. Click the Bisanga link in my signature. It was 6 weeks ago so there's nothing to show at this point. But I kinda regret not getting more grafts. I will likely get a mini transplant to fill them in more later next year, perhaps 50-75 grafts... probably by Dr. Mwamba in his Atlanta location.
  6. I'm sure more improvement can be expected. I agree that a second procedure will give you the yield and density you are looking for. You could probably start planning it now for a date at the 12 month mark. You wouldn't need many grafts so you could consider other clinics.
  7. The easy answer is to do nothing. Shave it off and be happy with it. You're opposed to finasteride, which is designed to prevent to future loss of native hair. Minoxidil is a stimulant that improves quality and longevity of your native hair. Two different approaches to manage hair loss. Without those two, a transplant is your only option, really. The best solution, which most of us are doing, is all of them... meds and transplant. Maybe visit a different trichologist? At least an in-person consultation with a hair transplant doctor.
  8. As I understand it, no. The powder from crushed tablets is not dissolved enough to penetrate the skin. Where are you located? I have a new box of topical min/fin I am not using. Pay for shipping and I'll send it to you. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/60915-anyone-want-to-try-topical-minfin/
  9. Reading that other thread, I am thinking this is partially psychosomatic. Your head is a mess. I've never heard of topical minoxidil causing heart palpitations. I mean, they sell that over the counter. Was it 5% solution? Foam is no different. If you stop using minoxidil, you'll slowly lose the benefits. Same with finasteride, it's basically a life long treatment. Transplanted hair generally is permanent. Why are you taking beta blockers? For anxiety? Surely not for hair loss... I believe beta blockers can *cause* hair loss, no?
  10. Are you looking only in the US/Canada? Personally, I'm no fan of Diep at all. For FUT, the best are Konior and Wong, again in my opinion. I believe Dr. Cooley and Dr. Bloxham would be excellent choices, too. If open to Europe, Bisanga and Lorenzo would be on my short list.
  11. Interesting video! I don't understand why some people defend the "corn row" implantation designs. The results always suffer. This video explains why the incisions need to be staggered, un-patterned.
  12. I would recommend not to make any decisions until you have a phone call with another clinic. There are several clinic representatives on this forum who would gladly speak with you. They can speak to those same issues. How can he guarantee the team that would work on you? There are 18 rooms, aren't there 18 teams? Personally, it's a joke that he would put himself in the same category of doctors with proven results. If his results were that good, his prices would be the same. You can select any clinic you want, of course. However, if you can afford a the better clinic, this isn't the time to look for a bargain.
  13. I think most people shave it. Maybe cut it with a guard #4 or #5 first. Bring it down until you like the length and it doesn't look too crazy. 😆
  14. Doctors seem to have a style of hairline. Some are straighter, some are softer, some are more dense/aggressive. I do like Bicer's general approach and at that price, she's a great value. I would recommend going through the forum's patient cases. Bicer threads: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/search/?q=Bicer&quick=1&search_in=titles HLC threads: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/search/?q=HLC&quick=1&search_in=titles Of course, I'm biased towards HLC since I've had success there. I was particularly impressed with HLC YouTube videos. https://www.youtube.com/c/FueHairTransplant/videos If you have any questions, let me know.
  15. I'm in agreement with you. 5000 grafts should be 10K hairs at least. Even at a lackluster 90% survival rate, 9k hairs would look much better than this. At this point, you'd need at least another 4k grafts to get a better hairline, density in mid-scalp, and decent crown coverage.
  16. I started taking it about a month ago. I'm taking 5mg on MWF. I thought I was going to be able to split the pill in half and take 2.5 daily, but the damn pills are capsules with powder in the them, ugh! Dr. Bisanga just advised me to take it every other day, no problem. Too early to talk results as I'm coming from a transplant. But I'm optimistic!
  17. I believe Dr. Pinto charges 2.5 Euro/graft. Ferreira charges 3/graft. I would not hesitate to have a transplant from either of these doctors. I've seen their work and the results are excellent. Please don't go to the celebrity-endorsed clinic.
  18. I don't think Eugenix offers FUT, but they are the best option is SEA.
  19. This is right. Keep your monthly updates to the same thread. That way we can see the progress (or lack of progress). And we won't keep asking who the doctor was, haha!
  20. Probably a lot cheaper than going to Madrid (Lorenzo or Vila) or Barcelona (De Freitas).
  21. Apparently Ronaldo's hair clinic is opening one in Marbella. His endorsement means nothing to me, but you can look into it. https://www.facebook.com/Cristiano/posts/411661270320419
  22. I understand why you are not completely happy. Even through it is early and you can still expect to get more growth, I doubt it will be enough to fill in the gaps. The yield is not perfect, it never is. To be honest, my complaint is with the artistry/skill of the grafts. The grafts were inserted at a bad angle and the hairline is too straight. The doubles in the hairline also hurt the appearance. The best thing you can do is wait until 12 months and evaluate. You could have a second transplant to repair it. But you will need to go to a MUCH more experienced (and yes more expensive) doctor.
  23. Can you do something like this? https://www.menshairstylesnow.com/fringe-haircuts-for-men/
  24. Your donor doesn't look particularly strong, unfortunately. And if you want to keep you hair that short, a transplant might not work out... the dot scars will be obvious. I mean, you *might* be able to get a small transplant to help build your hairline. Like 500-1000 grafts, maybe? Also, beard hair might be viable for donor. All that in addition to SMP, and keeping your hair that short, could give a decent result. The best advice is to do an in-person consult with a hair doctor. At least take some good photos of your donor and send them to a few clinics for online evaluation.
  25. No, they use stick and place. So the doctor makes the incision while the tech does the implantation. Start around 2:45
