  1. The US, generally speaking, is much more conservative in terms of hairlines and dense packing. There are few cases where I see the results are dramatically lower and dense. It seems the best transplants are, in fact, the most expensive. Typically, good doctors start around $5/graft. But it quickly goes to $7-$10/graft (for FUE, FUT is usually less). This is why many of us elect to go overseas. Brilliant (perhaps top 25 in the world) doctors are around $3-6/graft. Bisanga is under $6/graft. Eugenix (top package) is less than $5/graft. De Freitas is around $3. There's only a few US/Can doctors I'd select over these guys.
  2. In the Exclusive Package: This implies that in the top package, Bansal will still do all the incisions (the important part) but will also do a few hundred actual implantations. This is true for most clinics... the incisions are made by the doctor and the implantation is performed by techs.
  3. Of that list, Wong is the only doctor I would consider. Konior sounds great but I can't swallow his prices, even if I can afford it.
  4. I was in the gym on day 8, just as soon as my scabs were mostly gone. I didn't do any cardio, just weights. Light sweating. I even had a single suture in my donor area. No problem!
  5. This is a very "hair mill" outcome. Pluggy doubles in the hairline, poor angles and poor density. I'm sorry that you are going through this. Are you going to have it repaired? There are much better options in Turkey!
  6. HLC has the approach to treat your thinning area as if it's going to go bald in the future. At your age, that's probably a good idea. They did the same to me. I thought they would go with a lower density behind the hairline, but they said it's better to treat that area as if it's going to fall out. So they went to 40 grafts/cm2. And HLC has a bias towards dense packing. And it looks like they harvested a lot of multis (triples and up) grafts. I would fully expect a great result!
  7. I think you *could* lower your hairline. It depends on your donor, which doesn't look particularly strong. You might need at least 1,000 grafts just to rebuild the hairline/temples and add forelock density without lowering it. Add another 1,000 for the crown. You'd need 800 or so more to lower your hairline 1cm or so. So it may not be worth weakening your donor. As an alternative, you might be able to pull 500 from your beard. That might give you more options. Ask @De Freitas Clinic to expedite the consultation. They are backed up with the regular online consultations.
  8. Looking good so far! Those scabs will be gone within a week. In a month or so you'll be glad you kept the long hair. You'll be able to style it and cover the recipient area. Keep this thread updated with monthly pics. Good luck!
  9. Even Hasson & Wong is $8/graft for FUE. It's hard to get better than that.
  10. Oh, hell naw! LOL! I mean, he's awesome and all but there are WAY too many exceptional alternatives for a 1/3 that price.
  11. Yes, Erdogan designed that tool. My point is that you can have 100% of the grafts take and grow, but not all the hairs will grow. You can implant a triple hair graft and only 1 hair will grow... that is still a successful graft, but a low hair yield. Erdogan's video shows this in his study in the video. Bisanga also uses this tool and claims this helps with early growth and improved hair yield.
  12. Remember, that "graft survival" rate is not the same as "hair survival" rate. Dr. Bisanga uses the KEEP implanter tool, which improves your hair survival rate. Read up on it here. https://www.ke-ep.com/
  13. Konior is like $12/graft for FUE. He's probably top 3 in the world, but that's "money ain't no thing" budget.
  14. Yikes! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9989033/Italian-man-mysteriously-dies-heart-attack-hair-transplant-operation-Turkey.html
  15. I would be confident in saying he's still among the best. But as I understand it, he has technicians do much of the work these days. Even Dr. Acar (Cosmedica) is very skilled, but I've seen some hatched jobs from poor technician extractions. You have to pay extra for the doctor to spend 1 hour to make incisions. Now it seems Cosmedica and Asmed are more volume driven than quality driven.
  16. Yup! I flew from Texas to Turkey... flew business class, stayed 5 extra days in a 5* hotel, had a mini vacation... and probably saved $10-20k USD by going to HLC instead of a top US clinic. De Freitas, Bisanga, Lorenzo, Feriduni, etc. are all in the top 25 in the world, I would say.
  17. Whoa! I've seen recently they have been declining online evaluations. Even his website is down. Same week?! Not sure if I'd be able to turn that offer down. Do it!
  18. I don't think it matters. Cuoto isn't accepting new patients. He's booked through 2023, I believe.
  19. I agree with you on this. Some of Diep's work looks great. But others, not so much. Not sure if it's his cornrow approach. I see that from other clinics, too, but in the hairline it looks odd to me. I have a total man crush on Dr. De Freita's hairlines. Just so damn nice! And Dr. Ferreira's hairlines are really impressive. (like this!)
  20. You could consider Dr. Mwamba from Belgium. He does offer procedures in Atlanta, too.
  21. HLC has 5 doctors, I think. When I was there, there were 4 patients, so basically 1 patient per doctor per day. Many clinics have multiple doctors. HDC in Cyprus has a couple. BHR lists 9 doctors on the site and have a few different office locations. I don't think HLC prices are about overhead. HLC does, however, use manual punches for extraction performed only by doctors, which takes more time than motorized harvesting. They use stick and place, again with the doctor, which also takes more time than pre-made incisions. A doctor is with you basically the entire time. Demirsoy uses motorized extraction and premade slits. Nothing wrong with that at all, Bisanga does the same. If I was on a 1.25 euro/graft budget, Demirsoy would be in my top 3 options. Is HLC worth double the cost? Is Bisanga worth double HLC? That's for us each to decide. All I know for certain is that your donor supply is limited. You only get a couple chances at this, if you're lucky. I don't always gamble, but when I do I always place my money on the surest bet.
  22. You can read my HLC story in my signature, so of course I would recommend them. Demirsoy has a few really nice examples on this site, too. Of course it is wisest to consider the absolute best doctors. Unsurprisingly, they are also the most expensive. That said, there are some doctors that are great values. It's best not to be cost driven, but instead results driven. Continue to search this site for patient cases. Look for hairline naturalness, design and density. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/search/?q=Demirsoy&quick=1&search_in=titles https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/search/?q=HLC&quick=1&search_in=titles
  23. There's a few of us that have gone there. Try searching the site. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/search/?q=HLC&quick=1&search_in=titles Yes, they use manual punches, performed by the doctors only. They also use stick and place technique for recipient area.
