  1. There's no reason to even continue this debate. If you think your donor is completely immune, good for you and best of luck in the future. I guess we are trying to be proactive and looking at evidence rather than waiting for it to happen and be "oh shit, I was wrong".
  2. Apologies if that came this way. I do agree there's little evidence on long term use, however we are all here trying to combat something natural which is Hair Loss. Of course we are trying different things with all it's risks. Everything has it's risk. You can get hit by a car tomorrow morning on your way to a grocery shop, yet this doesn't stop you from going out? Just an example.
  3. Actually I'm not bluntly following Dr. Ferreira's advice, but rather i find our opinions very very similar. He is of course a Dr. who is quite crazy about hair, so I would assume he should know better than me, just a regular "Joe". Although I like to triple source my information to draw any conclusions. Of course I would agree on the fact that lots of people are delusional which goes both ways. But according to research potential of sides is so low it would be stupid to neglect benefits of it's medication. I do believe people are overthinking negative part, thus creating this fear of it which is blown out of proportion. I will tell you why I'm so defensive on this. I knew about Finasteride around 6 years ago, but I was put off by comments like yours to even TRY take it. Fast forward form NW2-3 to NW5a and I'm here, using fin for over a year with no problems what so ever + enjoying it's benefits. My biggest regret is not to start using it earlier, as it could have saved me a ton of hair! I agree with @Portugal25 about Dr. Lorenzo. I was about to write it down as well. He has lots of success with DUPA and he always puts his patients on Finasteride in order to recover and maintain integrity of donor area. So this proves my point even further, that all scalp is susceptible to DHT, but most of hair follicles in the donor are not as sensitive as top of the scalp. Furthermore it looks like highly depends on individual. Some people have higher sensitivity to DHT in donor than others, so you will see mixed reviews. Some are NW7 with strong donor for years, but some have more miniaturisation. I remember Dr. Bisanga checked my hair with magnification and said I've got less than 10% miniaturisation in my donor. That's when I got interested in this topic and realized not everything is black and white. Donor dominance is legit theory, but it's not as black & white as well.
  4. Ok I get it now, it's because you had a bad experience. Your position is completely understandable. It's a human psychology to try to find negatives in something you don't like. That being said, I'm still curious to what do you think about Portugal situation with his first strip as "extracted not from the safe zone" is invalid here.
  5. It greatly depends on individual, but my wild guess would be... 104?
  6. Most of his professional life he used to work for someone else rather than himself, thus he doesn't own the rights for his before & after. Even now he is still working in Madrid in Dr. Jose Lorenzo's clinic a week or two every month. He is still at the point that he is hustling and trying to make a name for himself. This thing alone pushes away most of potential patients, but I've seen more and more people going to him recently. I guess in a year or two he will be very visible online (and will probably charge way more haha).
  7. @Portugal25 If I recall correctly your first surgery was FUT with strip taken from the sweet spot? If so, how Mr. @Cristero would explain such phenomenon. Also not sure why you say that a doctor told you there's a frequent miniaturisation going on in the donor in men in their 30's, but then you say it's totally nonsense to take Finasteride on NW7? I'm a bit confused as to where do you stand. Also interesting where do you take information on scalp DHT being reduced by 40% only? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10495374/ "Results: Scalp skin DHT levels declined significantly by 13.0% with placebo and by 14.9%, 61.6%, 56. 5%, 64.1%, and 69.4% with 0.01, 0.05, 0.2, 1, and 5 mg doses of finasteride, respectively". To me it looks like it's above 60%. Also the fact that androgens are more sensible in the hairline by T (which I'm not sure it's true), this doesn't mean anything as OP had hairline transplanted. From what I understand Fin can help to maintain integrity of donor area as much as top of the scalp. Even if it's not 100% efficacy, it's still way better than nothing. Besides risking side effects is just a nonsense. Take it and you will see sides, if they appear, discontinue. Now you know you can't take it. But by living in a fear whole life is not the best solution.
  8. It actually sounds and looks exactly like you Well, you still have quite good donor which is obviously great for you. That person had much worse donor with more miniaturization in there. I'm sure it's possible to extract more grafts from your donor. It looks really really good to me!
  9. You might not think, but sad reality is, it can decrease density of your HT dramatically. I've seen a guy who had HT and was on fin. Everything was fine until he decided to drop it after many years of use (got married, family, decided ehh, don't care about slight miniaturization). He got NW17 in few years and his HT looks almost non-existent. He said it's his biggest regret. Now he had another one with loads of BHT to catch up and it will never look the way it was looking before.
  10. Joe Tillman is NW7 for ages and still takes Finasteride. Most of people have some degree of miniaturization in donor as well, so Fin would prevent this. If not, he would risk his transplanted hair just like Dr. Ferreira said.
  11. Holy cow! I wouldn't say you're NW7 at all! Donor looks great and the density on the top is incredible! Home run. Happy for you mate!
  12. 1. 1 graft can contain 1-5 hairs. It can be 1 hair grafts or 5 hair graft. It all depends on your donor characteristics. For example scalp donor average hair per graft is 2.2. Any body hair for example have usually 1 hair per graft. The more hair per graft, the better density you will achieve. Also density highly depends on thickness of your hair. 2. Good surgeon should analyze your donor and choose the most suitable grafts for your HT. For example hairline should have 1 hair grafts to create naturalness. Behind the hairline it can be everything else to create density. In FUE surgeon is able to "cherry pick" grafts and can extract 3's and 4's if he needs to, but then your donor density could be compromised. In the end great result requires great artistry and donor management from a surgeon, so you will be left with good donor and good top.
  13. Appreciate kind words! The funny thing is I'm filming on my old Samsung S8 phone haha. I guess you need to know how to use it properly Dr. Ferreira estimated roughly 10 000 in donor. Ofc that might be a lot, but so far I had 3659 grafts in the front only, which I'm very happy with and he proposed 2000-2500 grafts in the rest of the area. Total would be around 6000 grafts. After my first surgery I do believe I have way more than 6000 grafts looking at my current state of donor.
  14. Gentlemen, A lot of you been asking me over and over again what I'm going to do for my mid scalp and crown? Will I get second HT? Am I on medication and what I'm currently doing about my hair loss? Well, I put together a video where I explain everything with great detail (a bit nerd'ish as always haha 🤓). Hit me with your questions if there's still something I haven't cover! I truly hope it will give you some perspective on my decisions with Hair Loss!
  15. Not sure how much this will be helpful, but I had a low skin fade 5 months after my FUE.
  16. It's funny, you're not the first person who said that this will be the best HT of the year haha Appreciate your support and kind words!
  17. Week 28 (6.5 months) Gentlemen, I've received quite some hate recently (ofc due to exposing some shady Indian clinic) where even one of my regular subscriber was talking that my HT is looking thin and won't look good! We all know here how HT works and you can't expect more at this stage given my hair characteristics, but I decided to share some more info from my surgery, which includes: - Complications on first surgical day - Donor characteristics - Little analysis of why I think result should look good after 12 months As always fire up with your questions if there's any. Always happy to help as much as I can! Thanks for stopping by!
  18. I'm really not sure as pre-made slits were done only in the hairline. Dr. Ferreira decided to do pre-made slits before any popping was even discovered, so I don't think this was the reason (unless of course he predicted given my elastic skin). @Melvin-Moderator Agreed. It was shocking to me when a clinic publicly said "we are lying to our potential patients just so we can rank higher in a google search".
  19. I believe what people really mean when they say DHI vs FUE is method of implantation (a.k.a. implanter pen vs pre-made slits + forceps). At least this is the case in Turkish market. I had both pre-made slits and DHI in the same surgery and from my personal experience pre-made slits takes 2-4 weeks longer to heal (redness to disappear). That's it. So when someone is saying DHI has faster healing, they're not lying, but the difference is so minimal that it shouldn't even matter. Another biggest pro for DHI is potential of implanting more graft/cm2. Although in reality nobody would ever implant 80 grafts/cm2 in one sitting. 50-60 grafts/cm2 can be done with pre-made slits as well. This is just my observation of what people are talking about. I'm involved with lots of uneducated people that are asking similar questions. This question is actually drives me mad, because FUE is actually an extraction method while DHI is just implantation method. It's incorrect to say pre-made slits = FUE. I even had a debate with one of cheap clinics in Turkey about it to what they responded that they're using FUE terminology only for SEO purposes as that's the most searchable word.
  20. Donor looks much better! It start to fill in nicely, crown has good whorl. Next few months should give you more density for sure!
  21. Haha this looked like a first prototype of laser comb Keep us posted man, I'm keen to see more improvement!
  22. I feel like there's a lot of hairs that just sprouted and growing out. Nevertheless looks good! How are your Temporal peaks?
  23. Haha, It's a good question. From what I've seen so far he is very caring and thinks long term. Who knows if he would do whatever you ask him to I've been thinking about the same when I was doing my research. The main problem with Dr. Ferreira is he has quite a lot of "time on tissue", but he was/is working for other clinics. He can't take his work from there and present as his own due to copyright infringement. For example right now he is still working some time in Madrid @ Dr. Jose Lorenzo clinic, thus any job he has done in there doesn't belong to him. He is at the point where he is trying to make a name for himself right now and that's why I believe he doesn't charge as much as he could for his skill. I've asked Joe Tillman and Spencer Kobren if they know the guy to what they replied they know him, they've seen his work and they think it's a stellar job. Also they were the ones who told me about his lack of results. This gave me a boost in confidence. I've obviously didn't rush, talked more with him and after 50-60 emails I've decided to take the plunge. So far (if you're following my journey) I can't be happier with what I've got at 6 months mark.
  24. I've asked Dr. Ferreira if he thinks I would benefit from temple work to which he said he don't think I would need this at this point. I've been chatting with loads of people since I've posted my original thread and/or my YT videos. As you can understand it's very difficult to find any information on Dr. Ferreira online, so people are questioning as well. Recently one guy I've been in touch with had his HT done (around 3 weeks ago) with Dr. Ferreira where he had reconstructed temples. Early to say of course, but It's been done.
