  1. What's your problem mate? I feel like you're trying to pick on this forum for no reason. This is business. They have created a huge traffic for people looking into hair loss & hair transplants, thus clinics want to advertise themselves in such places. The difference of this forum compared to others is that here you have a freedom of speech. You can talk/recommend any doctor. Mods will not go and start bashing them or deleting threads because they didn't pay money to be in here. That's why this place is unique as it gives transparent information where everyone can share what they want. Besides, not every doctor would make to this list. They're always asking community what they think of potential recommendation on the website. Doctor's job is analyzed to meet certain standards. Also, if someone is not on the list, it doesn't mean they do a bad job. It just means they decided not to participate in this forum. Nothing wrong with that. If some doctor is doing a consistent great result that you are aware of, please, create a separate thread and share with us. I'm sure lots of people would like to expand their surgeon lists.
  2. Lol Nico, not that difficult considering not many people sharing their experience with Dr. Ferreira? Grab a coffee and have a read my story
  3. At 6 month mark I think it looks extremely good! I'm sure yours will be way better given number of grafts, high average hair/graft and native hair!
  4. @PT#31 Congrats on your surgery mate! I can confirm every word you said about Dr. Ferreira's clinic. Although I would expect everything the same from any too clinic 😁 Your case looks very very similar to mine I must admit. From NW level, to implantations and donor management. Of course you had a much better start in terms of native hair than me 😁 P.s. I really like your hairline design! Good luck and happy growing! 👍
  5. To me it looks really really good. Don't forget where are you coming from! Also worth mentioning that beard grafts are more "unpredictable" than scalp. Their growth phases might be very different from scalp hair, thus needed more time?
  6. From what I understand for some reason anyone that's going to him are not keen to show their results. Dr. Ferreira even advertised recently on his Facebook that he has a special "back door" in his clinic for people who doesnt want others to see their HT. To me its mind blowing 😁 I guess I'm super weird that I actually like people to see my head with holes 🤣 Good luck on your surgery!
  7. They are definitely using microscopes as they have 2 of them in the room. I've seen techs checking them while dr. Ferreira was extracting grafts. It's pretty synchronised. One tech is moisturising my donor, taking extracted grafts and giving to other 2 techs that are checking them under microscope and someone is constantly updating graft count on the iPad to show it on a big screen for dr. Ferreira to see.
  8. I Think Farjo institute is in Manchester. While I won't recommend them for HT, you can book appointment with the doctor and ask for prescription. I'm almost sure they would charge you for consultation, but at least you will have prescription for it.
  9. Appreciate your kind words! Re: hairstyle - there's no really other way to do it right now haha Hair is too short to slick it back, but it's also too long to spike it up or brush forward Nevertheless, I'm happy with it!
  10. Month 6 Ladies and (most probably) gentlemen, It's been a great journey! 6 months is considered only "halfway there", but to me it's already a success. Looking back where I started and where I'm now, I won't believe it's possible in just 6 months. If this was my full result, I would be extremely happy. If I would get same density on my mid-scalp and crown I would consider the battle against hair loss completed. Of course everybody has different expectations, but to me, been unable to cover my scalp properly, yet alone having a hairline and now having this, it's a win. Do you guys have any other suggestions you would like to see?
  11. Wow, that's the best formulation of this idea I've ever heard. I hope you don't mind me stealing it! :D
  12. This would highly depend on your average hair/graft and hair thickness. I'm NW5a as well and 6 months ago I had 3659 grafts only in the front. My hair is quite thin though and I was completely bald in there. I would join the rest and say that Dr. Hasson would be a great choice. Perhaps get more assessments so you can see what other surgeons are suggesting? Have you tried medical treatments? Finasteride and Minoxidil could go a long way for you as you have lots of miniaturised hairs left.
  13. Yeah, he told me during the surgery that he would like to come back to hairline on my second surgery as my hair is very thin just to add couple hundred grafts. During my recent conversion on 5 month he said the same. I might be happy with how it will turn out but I guess he likes to do it properly 🤷‍♂️
  14. There can be some underlying conditions that preventing hair to grow. In such cases Dr. would advise to get biopsy and to see what's the problem. This is very rare, but can happen. Also worth mentioning that yield can be smaller due to surgical skill + hair characteristics. There's no guarantees in HT. Stay on a safe side.
  15. I had DHI and pre-made slits in the same surgery. Fair/light skin. It took about 4 months for redness from DHI to disappear completely, and about 5.5 months for pre-made slits to disappear 98% (i still have few little spots here and there). I used organic aloe vera gel, but not sure if this made a difference as I stopped at around month 3.
  16. I had instructions as follows: 14 days - light exercise 30 days - can resume any contact sport, swimming and heavy lifting I think majority of it is just a precaution, but I would advise not to rush. You just had a surgery, you paid a lot of money, you used your donor that is worth more than money can buy. I'm sure in a long run after 10 years it won't matter if you would go back to the gym 2 weeks earlier or later.
  17. I personally had 2 day surgery for only 3659 grafts. It took full 2 days from 7:30am to 5:30pm. I've seen some clinics having approach where tech is extracting and almost immediately after surgeon in implanting. In this way they can do quite a lot of grafts in one day. Although It seems like you're rushing a bit into having full set of hair and forgetting the possible "side effects". What would happen if you were extract and implant 5000 grafts in one surgery and 50% of them won't grow? You just lost 2500 grafts with no return. "slowest" approach is always better to stay on a safe side. Even in the best hands things like that can happen due to patient physiology. Also worth noting, if extractions are made in a rushed way you have higher chance to get overharvested and have higher transection rate. Your donor is like gold., treat it as such.
  18. My suggestion is to stick with whatever your surgeon is proposing. If you have enough confidence in him to operate you, you should trust his opinion. To me it sounds weird when guys are telling to a surgeon "implant here 1000 and there 2000". He is a surgeon, he (should) know better as he is doing it on a daily basis?
  19. Absolutely! Even taking into account how thin my hair is and how many complications I had during surgery it's unbelievable growth. Seems like 2.73 average graft implanted gives its benefits. Yeah I'm planning to get second HT done some time next year to fill in mid scalp and crown. Dr. Ferreira estimated 2000-2500 grafts in there + few hundreds grafts to touch-up hairline.
  20. So I realized I never brushed down my hair to see how it looks. (Pictures done in front of the window without flash). I must admit it does look pretty good. Although my vertex is looking worse and worse as my transplant looks better and better! 🤣
  21. I guess the main question is, would you personally be happy to be one of those smaller percentage to be screwed up? I understand you would say there's a chance to be screwed by top docs as well, but where the actual doctor is doing every surgery, there will be consistency, while in places where they do 3-4 + patients a day, it's more like a gambling. In the end, it's up to individual preference. Some people really like gambling. Just saying
