  1. Even so. I was not that concerned at my 1st transplant.
  2. I am about 7 weeks post transplant and I am really not concerned about the transplant. I will still handle it with kid gloves, but I am not sitting here fretting every day. I see so many that seem to drive themselves crazy with expectations and worry. My first transplant was a success and I have no reason to believe this one won't also be a success. I believe in about 4 months I will be very satisfied with my transplant. Are there other guys out there that just relax or is everyone tense, and just looking for problems?
  3. My FUT scar is much more of a line. Yours is much wider than mine. It would be interesting to know the outcome of your revision and the technique they use.
  4. Will scar tissue accept transplants - I don't know. Will there be enough blood supply. Scar tissue is pretty mean stuff. I saw triplets that were burned in a fire and treated with DeepFX fractional laser.
  5. All I can say is read up on Plastic Surgery. This is not a hair transplant issue it is a Plastic Surgery issue.
  6. I seriously wonder about this. I believe the graft would look worse than the scar. I wouldn't let anyone but a skilled plastic surgeon do something like that, not a doctor that only does hair transplants. Scar revision is very iffy at best. RealSelf is a plastic surgery review site. https://www.plasticsurgery.org/reconstructive-procedures/scar-revision https://www.realself.com/Scar-removal/reviews
  7. Just off hand I don't know how that would work. Scar correction is a major plastic surgery issue.
  8. It would actually seem the season of the year is important also. I doubt that summer is the best time to get a transplant.
  9. I gained a lot of respect for Dr. Love when I was scheduled for a non-hair related laser procedure, and after I was scheduled he came back into the room and he told me the procedure was not right for me. A year later a new laser was introduced. He did not have that laser so I went to another doctor in OKC, and that was the best procedure I ever did. I would have gone back to him for my 2nd transplant, but the idea of flying to OKC twice changed my mind and I went with Dr. Junaid Syed in Orlando. I am only 6 weeks post-op but everything appears to be going well with no complications.
  10. Are you in OKC. Tim Love did my first transplant and it turned out great. I am in Florida now.
  11. “Imagination frames events unknown, In wild, fantastic shapes of hideous ruin, And what it fears creates.” ― Hannah More Read and reread that quote until you fully comprehend what it means. Understand the power of your subconscious and exchange your negative thoughts for positive thoughts. That is one of greatest quotes I have ever heard because it speaks to human nature. After the transplant you will have buyers remorse. You are just having natural reactions. Try this on for size, in 2008 I had Fraxel Repair when it was first introduced at a cost of $5,000. Do you think I didn't have all those doubts. There I was basically undergoing an unknown procedure. Hair transplants have been around for a long time and the procedure has been greatly refined over the years. I am 71 and just had my 2nd transplant - 6 weeks post-op and I don't have as many doubts as you. In January I travel to Costa Rica get a facelift, and I am more concerned with the travel plans than the actual surgery. I suggest you just get a buzz cut a few days prior to the transplant so people get used to it. Why should you look bad for 4-6 months? Only because I didn't buzz I had to put up with a bad haircut for 5 weeks. Nobody knows I got a transplant this time or back in 2011 with my first. You worry too much. Go get a drink.
  12. I don't see damage, but there are guys on here who will give you a more detailed evaluation. I basically come and go on here while in the transplant mode.
  13. What bothers me is the words 'were removed'. Does that mean you picked off the scabs instead of letting them fall off on their own.
  14. My hair was the same as my fathers, but my brother kept his hair and he is 77 - go figure. Yes we have the same father. I am a dead ringer for my dad in every way. My brother resembles him, but here is an odd fact. My brother is gay. I wonder if that effects hair loss. LOL Oddly, my sister who is 81 has thinner hair than my brother.
  15. I bought a UPF 50 hat, but I really can't see how it will be any more effective than a regular hat, only more expensive. Keep you head covered for goodness sake.
  16. I didn't get the redness you speak of so the only problem where the scabs. I took off 2 weeks - came back to work and nobody noticed and that was with 2000 grafts up front. A lot depends on what type of healer you are as to the redness and how long the scabs remain. Generally guys don't notice unless it is really obvious - women notice everything.
  17. He should accept wire transfer, if not, find another doctor. It is ridiculous for any doctor to refuse a wire transfer.
  18. What is the basis for the percentages you mention? Is this an objective review of the growth or a subjective opion?
  19. I don't know how an individual can be anything but subjective on this. My 2011 transplant took very good. If my 2018 transplants take good again should I credit PRP? I just don't know how an individual can really evaluate this. That is why I posted the NIH study. My PRP was included with my transplant otherwise I doubt that I would have bought it.
  20. I just found the FUT easier, because you don't have to walk around with that ridiculous haircut for months. If you want to wear your hair short go with the FUE. FUE you don't have to go back to get stitches removed. I don't wear my hair short so FUT was easier for me. There is no real recovery time for the FUE donor area. It is a trade off, you look normal quicker with the FUT because the incision is hidden by your hair. This makes it easier to pull it off when you return to work. The recipient area comes in at the same rate. I know that if I ever got FUE again, and I may for the crown area, I would go ahead and get a buzz cut before the procedure. Let people get used to you with a buzz for a couple days, and it won't seem so weird when you return to work. I am retired so I just have to wear a hat when I go into public. It has been a month, and my haircut still looks like a drunk on Meth cut it. I was off work for 2 weeks with my FUT in 2011 and when I went back nobody noticed. FUT is quicker because the extraction with FUE is a lengthy process. It really depends on what your priorities are. Our hair is not that different, and I got good results from my first transplant. You may be able to harvest more donors if you went to FUE next. You have a larger crown area to cover than I do. I really don't expect to see results of this procedure for 4-6 months, but if it turns out as well as the 1st I will be ecstatic.
  21. My first job was working midnights so you know I drink coffee, and I drink it black, and I lost my hair. That was a good way to look at it.

  23. I had cellulitis on my shin this year and it was the first thing I thought of, then I withdrew that so as not to freak you out. Cellulitis is some mean stuff and it took me months to get rid of it on my shin. Did you Google the pictures of folliculitis? I saw some that looked like yours. You really should see a doctor, these things can spread quickly. I don't really think it is much, I would not be asking some guy on the internet.
  24. It looks like it is raised. You shouldn't be on here, you should be at the doctors office. It is probably something very minor, but we are not qualified to diagnosis or prescribe. You may need antibiotics. Catch whatever it is early because you don't want it to linger. It could also be something as simple as an ingrown hair. When hair follicles on the scalp become inflamed, it leads to a condition called scalp folliculitis. ... Typically, folliculitis causes red scalp bumps that are tender or itchy. The bumps may be filled with a clear or yellow fluid. This skin and scalp condition is caused by bacteria or fungus. From the pictures on Google Folliculitis seems more likely.
  25. I had PRP, but it has only been a month since my FUE, and I really don't know how I will have any criteria by which to judge if it is effective. I will know if the FUE was a success in maybe 6 months, but I won't know if the PRP helped. That is why I defer to the link below. Everything I see on Factor 4 is an ad, and you can't believe ads. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4622412/
