  1. I had 1500 transplants in Nov 2011 by Dr Love in OKC. The doctor removed the strip and 2 technicians did the actual transplants. The one tech has been doing this for 20 years so I felt more comfortable in her hands than the doctors. I am very satified with the results and thought I had reached the 100% mark, but if you guys say more may grow that makes me even happier. I am planning on another 1500 later this year to add to the fullness, but this has subtracted about 10 years from my looks. I may get a facelift in a few months so I am waiting to see if that effects the sideburn area.
  2. Wow, I have been away from this forum for a long time, and I had just about settled on Ron Shapiro back then. I am looking at a facelift also, so I wonder if it would be wise to try to do both procedures in the same time period.
  3. This kind of thread is why I come to this site. Several of my questions have been answered right here. I now know I will go with the strip. I have been looking into Dr Ron Shapiro, and I here many good thigs about him here.
  4. That's good to know since I am considering Dr Ron. Your Hawks are a great young team with a bright future. They look like the Pittsburg of the West.
  5. Latinlotus, you got me thinking when you mentioned sugar, and I knew I had read something about wound healing. http://www.journalofwoundcare....cle=JWC_16_7_317_319
  6. Petchski, I see you reference SkinBiology, yet you prefer other products. Any comments on your preference? I have been using the SkinBiology products for about 2 months and I also have a LaserMax 50 modded out to 90 diodes that I have used about 2 months. I have not had a transplant yet and I probably need about 3000 to give me a real good start. A big portion of my routine is a recommendation from Dr. Limmer, although I have not yet settled on a doctor. My routine: SkinBiology "Hair Signals" daily. LaserMax 3 x week for 20 min. Nizoral Shampoo 3 x week Biotin 3mg daily Rogaine Foam 2 X daily MSM 3g daily Finastride 1.25mg every other day
  7. About 20 years ago I tried an extreme lo-fat diet and experienced hair loss. This may be anecdotal, but it was the only change I made during this period. When I resumed normal eating the hair loss stopped.
  8. I am taking Proscar 1.25mg every other day, so I will be interested in hearing the responses to your question. This was upon suggestion from Dr Limmer. I stopped taking Proscar about 7 months ago because of side effects, and just started back up.
  9. With Bush out of the way, who knows what scientific advances may be forthcoming.
  10. OrlandoHT, after reviewing the website I have a few questions. I see the registration fee of $2075, and the mention of 2000-2300 grafts, but are you sure these two are connected. I found no section that specifically mentions patients registration, and it seems this is intended for doctors to register. I would imagine that patient screening has already happened.
  11. OrlandoHT, I could be interested in this next year, so keep us informed on your outcome.
  12. Ammars, I won't play the Political Correct game. There are many places in the United States that I also will not go, and I will not pretend that they are safe. Pakistan is in turmoil, Taliban activity seems to be on the upswing - that is enough to convince me.
  13. I don't care how good the doctor is, or how low the price, I wouldn't go to Pakistan. No hair is that important!
  14. First, let me say that I belive this site does a great service, informing patients of the best doctors, and panning the bad ones. It is because of todays economy that I am considering a transplant. Under normal circumstances I would be putting at least $1,000/month into the market. I stopped investing because I would lose money as soon as I invested, so I actually have some extra cash.
  15. Don't accept just because they say the money is non-refundable.
  16. OK, I live a mile away from Dr Lehr and have even had a consult with him. When I go to the list of Physicians he is not listed, and on the map Oklahoma shows no doctors. Was he approved and then removed, or what happened here.
  17. Richie, your hair is looking very good. I am impressed with peoples commitment to travel to get the best procedure.
  18. Shaving is not an option for me so I will find that out right off the bat. ChargedUp I can help but think of you as INeedMoreCowbell.
  19. Leeson, your hair looked great to me in the pre-op picture. I don't know what you hair looked like before the procedures, but you are a great example of what transplants can do.
  20. mmhce, that is a pretty gutsy move, and you did it without a face to face consultation. Was the transplant you received in line with your expectations prior to the procedure, or did you need more transplants than originally anticipated?
  21. The coalition doctor(Dr Limmer) who is the closest to me has an excellent reputation. My travel, compared to what some of you have done is nothing. If people are willing to travel long distances with only a photo consultation I guess I shouldn't be so worried.
  22. Since some of you are traveling great distances, can I assume you went into your initial transplant procedure with only a photo consultation until you arrived at the office. If this is so, was there a great deal of difference between the photo estimate and the face to face consultation. It would cost me around $200 to fly into San Antonio for a consultation, and I was wondering if people considered this necessary.
  23. How far are you all traveling for your transplants. The closest recommeded surgeon to me is Dr Limmer and he is 471 miles away in San Antonio.
