  1. This is probably the best analysis that I have seen on PRP. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4622412/
  2. How many people have tried Argan shampoo and Conditioner? I am 4 weeks post op with 2300 FUE, and I haven't started shedding yet. Are there other shampoos that you recommend?
  3. Just a thought - why not wear glasses even if they are just clear lenses, or wear sunglasses when outside. I have pretty thick eyebrows, but with glasses on you can barely see them - I just tried my regular and sunglasses in the mirror. Actually with the sunglasses you can't see them at all.
  4. I just bought an UPF 50 hat from Amazon. I live in Florida so I could use it anyway.
  5. Unless I have missed it I am a little surprised there are not detailed instructions on after transplant care. Sure you can pick up bits and pieces from the threads, but I haven't seen anything that is centralized. I am basically still following the doctors advice until I use up the baby shampoo, and saline spray.
  6. I have no problem continuing what I am doing, and I have about 2 weeks of baby shampoo left so I want to use that up anyway. I was just wondering if anybody else was this gentle. I do wear a hat in the sun. My haircut looks so bad it is easy for me to remember the hat. If I do FUE again for the crown area I would just get a buzz cut.
  7. The scabs are all gone and there is no redness.
  8. I am 3.5 weeks post 2300 FUE. I have been very gentle with my grafts. I have not touched them. I wash my hair daily by pouring baby shampoo over my head with a 44 oz. cup. I do not rub in the shampoo. I have not even touched the recipient area. I spray the grafts with a saline solution 4-5 times a day. I let my hair air dry. I was not this gentle with my first 2000 FUT in 2011. How careful are you guys with the recipient area.
  9. All of my scabs are gone, but I am still being gentle. I don't have the build up that you speak of. I have a large bottle of baby shampoo that I will continue using until it is used up, which could take 3 more weeks. I pour the shampoo over my head using a 44 oz. cup, and rinse with about 5 cups of water. I don't even towel dry my hair. I let it air dry. I also am still spraying on a saline solution about 5 times a day. I also have hair where the transplant went and now my hair looks pretty much normal with no scabs or redness. I do wear a very loose hat because the shaved area in the back and sides has not grown out yet. I thought I had more gray hair in the back, but it is coming in pretty dark.
  10. I never thought of it that way. I never wear my hair short, but I guess I was misinformed and thought FUE was better than FUT. I think FUT is much easier so I would probably go back to FUT if I do have my crown done.
  11. I will be interested in others opinions on washing your hair aggressively at this point since I am also at the 3 week point, and I am still being very gentle with the transplants, and using only baby shampoo. I did not have the recipient area shaved, but I did cut it much shorter than normal before the procedure. In retrospect I would have just got a buzz cut because the sides and back look ridiculous. Just tell your barber to stay away from the area that is already short.
  12. I can't comment on the FUT strip scar because it was covered by hair the entire time. Oddly, when my donor area was shaved down it appeared that there were two strip scars, but I know I only had one strip. I couldn't explain it and neither could the doctor. I just was not affected by redness. I just looked in the mirror again and there is no redness.
  13. It will be interesting to hear responses. I had PRP thrown in with my 2300 FUE 2.5 weeks ago, but how the heck will I know if it helped? I am sure they did that to entice me to sign up for more PRP. Is there any scientific proof that it works. You can't really go by others opinions because how would they know for certain that PRP helped. https://www.healthline.com/health/prp#preparation
  14. For ED side effects generic Sildenafil citrate is available online. AllDayChemist has everything. At one time I had 500 of the 100mg tablets - don't ask.
  15. It is a big self confidence booster, and even if I am not running the bars, you always feel better when you look better. That is also why I walk 2.5 to 5 miles every morning, and just had a lot of dental work done.
  16. I have never had a major problem with redness, and I just checked it out in the mirror and I don't see redness 2.5 weeks post 2300 FUE. Nobody at work noticed the transplant when I returned to work after 2 weeks in 2011. Except for the shaved donor area nobody would know I had a transplant done this time either. I am kind of a quick healer.
  17. I had PRP thrown in with my FUE. I think to entice me to come back for more PRP. How am I really going to know if it helped at all?
  18. I had 2000 FUT in 2011 and was very satisfied. I would have done FUT again but I moved 1400 miles and didn't want the travel. I had 2300 FUE 2.5 weeks ago, and it will be a long time before I can report on results. Good luck on your 2nd FUT. I think FUT is easier than FUE.
  19. I had FUT in 2011 and I didn't shave anything. My hair covered the strip area completely and the recipient area was not shaved so the biggest problem was the scabs which fell off in 2 weeks. I just had FUE and if I had it to do over again I would have had a buzz cut before the surgery, because the shaved back and sides looks ridiculous. Again the recipient area was not shaved, and 2.5 weeks post-op it looks pretty normal.
  20. WOW, some of you guys analyze day by day. I don't see that you have a problem. I am 2.5 weeks post op and my biggest concern is when my donor area will grow out so I don't have this silly haircut. I'll talk to you in about 4-6 months.
  21. You will have tiny red dots and then scabs for about 2 weeks, but no actual scars unless you are getting FUT and not FUE.
  22. So I assume you already had a consult. Be ready for a very long day. Don't expect to see any results for 4-6 months. This is a very slow process. Baby your grafts, and refrain from touching them. Keep me up on your progress.
  23. They do have 13 reviews on RealSelf, look under Junaid Syed. Right at the top of their site is says Search for treatments and providers. Their brochure does show 5 examples. My hairline was already established from my prior transplant. Write down all your questions before you go for the consult. It is so easy to forget something important. You are under no obligation so don't be nervous. I walked out without scheduling, thought about it for a week and called back and scheduled.
