  1. Here's my boring run of the mill answer, which I think is a safe bet: take fin daily for a year, you can consider your hair loss stable
  2. Put in "best fue doctors" and the search tool gives the following results Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients - Search Results
  3. Qneedhair, My doc simply said "your scalp laxity seems very good" (in-person of course)
  4. Cool, thanks for the replies. Yeah Spex's outdoor buzz cut pics by the pool made me go for it. I'm paranoid its visible but maybe in another 5 months it won't be. Maybe this is related, but I still feel a slight tingle at back of my head when pushing back against a headrest. So perhaps nerves and/or final scar appearance not complete
  5. Pretty sure most of you guys can see an outline of my FUT scar in the pics below, but do you think the "everyday Joe" would notice? Left-side more obvious than the back and the right-side Also, I'm 6.5 months post-op. Should I expect any changes if I go down to a #3 guard again in the future?...
  6. Darkhorse, have u noticed any shedding from the 1%?
  7. Not so sure about this one, but just like you I'm always looking for FUT scars now that I've had a HT, lol
  8. Okay, this is basically a wall of hair, lol. Curly, thick hair + Konior = great result. A flea couldn't penetrate that dense thicket!!
  9. GMan, It will certainly improve. Look at post #101 on my thread, bad bad bad early days: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182611-fut-3185-dr-rahal-day-after-pics-11.html
  10. Rawkerboi, thanks! Ontop, I can understand you perfectly. :-) To answer your questions, I've been on propecia (actual at first, generic once it was available) for about 17 years with no sides. It's always been the same dose, 1mg. I would have been a NW6 based on this quasi-fact: my dad is a NW 6 and pictures of him growing up and pictures of myself are identical through the years. Genetically, we came out with all the same traits and mannerisms. So, "NW6" in quotes perhaps. I too read Spex's post (the one where he was poolside with a #3 buzz) -- and it got me looking at my mid-scalp more than I used to, lol. ALSO, the focus has now been taken off of my hairline post-HT as well. I'm experiencing a comeback from a midscalp area shed while trying out 3 different shampoos -- my head didn't like that and shocked out some hair. So to summarize, I'm going to stick with finasteride but I'm paying VERY close attention to my midscalp, my crown, and I'm researching the pros/cons of dutasteride just in case (although I see myself going HT#2 before I see myself running around to get a dut script). hope this helps. PS - i have very fine hair and find that "letting it get dirty" helps with the thickness. Gross, maybe. Doesn't stink or look greasy though. So I shampoo with Nizoral 2x per week --> starting this very slowly...
  11. Just wow. Sick result man. Look at the side by side. You need to change your name to "Hairball"
  12. I had him for FUT and he's a genius at that. His FUE results are also very good on this forum, but I can only personally attest to his FUT finesse and professionalism. Hope this helps.
  13. Hi Tav1 and MrBurns, Thanks for the nice comments. Yes I'm quite happy, considering it's only been 6 months, 9 days since my 3185 FUT in the frontal third. I'm hoping for thickening up in the temples, and who knows, more new sprouts? But thickening up of existing new hairs seems more likely. Even if it were to completely stop right now, I'd be satisfied. Don't know about most of you, but I can be a bit lazy -- so here's a bunch all together (including some already posted pics): Here's a pre-op pic, a pre-op/immediate post-op pic, a BRUTAL 41 days post-op pic, and then a few pics from today. Comments (good and bad), always welcome!...
  14. Here's the first pics I've posted of my frontal third HT in direct sunlight outdoors. Took these today at 6 months, 5 days. I'm in the process of growing my hair long so I can slick it back (i.e. like the actor Michael Douglas), haha. However, I think that when my hair is shorter than in these pics it looks a bit better. Right now my hair is at an unruly length. Would love to know your thoughts if you have any.... Cheers.
  15. Hi dan, to answer your questions... 1) I'm fussing a bit about my native frontal hair shock loss (similar to what it seems you went through). At what point do you feel your native hair stopped shedding? I assume all (or most) of your transplanted hair shed? All native hair shed a bit after the transplanted hair. By 45 days I looked my worst. Then all hair slowly started growing back 2) I noticed you counterpunched the ugly duckling phase with a #3 shave at around 3 months. Nice work. What's the earliest you think you could have done that move? Could you have pressed to a #2 shave? Did you have enough growth to have been able to make that move even earlier, say at 2 months? Did that shave expose the scar in any way? 2 months would have been too early to buzz it all to a #3. Three months at the earliest for me and it looks like, perhaps for you too. Yes it exposed my scar. Not the scar itself, but there was an obvious "dent" from shock loss above/below my scar. I STILL am yet to risk a #2 shave. But #3 suits me fine. 3) My back hair growth is slowly hiding the scar as you can tell from the picture. At what point did you feel that you had enough growth in the back to comfortably hide the scar? 4 months, 1 week was when shock loss had fully come back (so no more "dent" ---- Sorry if these timelines seem so far away man. I feel your pain. But you will be looking tip-top by Xmas :-)
  16. Hey Mav! Big difference yes. How's ur head of hair doing these days? You're about 7.5 months now, right?
  17. Thanks transhair, Now I'm just hoping for density to increase, as seen below -- wet hair, and combed up/back to show thickness and gap concerns. Statistics say that 6 months = 60%, so lots to look forward to I hope :-)
  18. You're in great hands. Good luck to you and keep us updated...
