  1. IHMO, I am not sure you need surgery right now. I think you have a fair bit of hair and may lose a lot of it from surgery i.e. you may get about as much as you lose form shock loss, etc. You might want to consider medical therapy at this stage.
  2. I hate it when we do not get long term follow up. Would love to see how this turned out.
  3. Hi mermaid. I'm sorry you're going through this. Everybody here knows the pain of hair loss. It's different for a woman to be sure. I think you're getting good suggestions. I agree with the recommendations people are giving you about different doctors to see and medicines to talk to your doctor about. Several of the doctors mentioned about have specific sections on their website for female patients are they discuss how they approach it and they show examples of surgical work in female patients. You should check those out.
  4. Sleep with your head on a towel so you don't get blood on the hotel sheets or they will charge you a fine.
  5. A good clinic will give you everything you need. This includes medications and bandages. It also includes cleaning supplies. You will get sent home with a little care package. They should also give you a means to contact them even at night if you have a problem. Bring button down shirts. Whatever kind of surgery you are having this is the way to go. Don't be pulling anything over your head.
  6. It looks like a good result to me...I would consider not having another surgery now, especially if you cannot afford it.
  7. If you cannot take propecia it is not the end of the world. Just recognize if you get HT #1 you are also likely to need HT#2 and maybe even HT#3 at some point.
  8. Also, I suspect that a lot of what you had on top before was miniaturized and it was shock-lossed and did not come back when your grafts came in.
  9. I think it looks fine. 3500 is a good number but you have fine hair similar in color to your skin st it may not look as dense as someone with a darker complexion and coarse hair. You look way better than Pre-op. You can always have more work done, but don't make any moves if you are upset right now. Give it time.
  10. Dude that is a ton of grafts....be careful!
  11. All of these docs are excellent; you should do well with either. Bernstein is a very smart guy. He is more conservative but does meticulous work. He does not do mega sessions per se but his outcomes, imho, are excellent, age appropriate, and natural looking. H&W also are top notch and go for mega sessions. Lots of nice work by these two. Remember, if this works for you it is great but if not you burned a lit of grafts. Why not consult with both?
  12. How many grafts did you have on your first FUE? Also, can you show a pic of the top of your head?
  13. Talk to Bernstein. He is honest and fair. He is also very direct.
  14. Hard to say....may get better w time.
  15. The odds that you could have surgery are pretty good. I think you need to have realistic expectations. You have very advanced hair loss but you could still easily have the creation of a mature hairline and fill in the front and the top. If I was you, I would leave the crown alone.
  16. I think it's just too early to say anything. You'll have to wait and see. It may be totally fine. I would wait at least 90 days before drawing any initial conclusions.
  17. There is a lot of voodoo to scar closure in FUT. A lot of it comes down to it the surgeon's experience and what they are comfortable with. I'm not convinced that sutures are any better than Staples. A lot of the best closures I see are with Staples. It might help to ask the doctor you are talking with if you can see photos of some of his scars or to ask to talk to some of his former FUT patients.
  18. At 2 mos you should be able to do pretty much anything unless you are working out in an exceptionally vigorous and extreme manner.
