  1. I bet most of the people on this site would have noticed his hair almost first thing on their own. Meanwhile the rest of the world, including ironically even most bald men, probably would not think much of it. Personally I've gotten into the habit of analying everyone's hair that I see. Friends, colleagues, strangers... even women and kids. One of the very first things I look at is hair now. When I watch movies, yep... looking at the hair. I have a pretty good idea if anyone is wearing a hair piece in any movies I watch. Part of it is obsession, but it's also just fascinating to look at... like bird watching haha I remember the days when I was oblivious to all this hair stuff. I didn't even have a good idea of what my hairline looked like until I was like 22. Now I could tell you the NW level of basically everyone I know by name... and some of the people who's name I don't know, I still identify by their hair. It really is kinda sad. Too much importance placed on hair. But I guess everyone has their own little fascinations and quirks.
  2. If this really was legit, you would have posted it at least 6 times.... not 5. You almost had me there.
  3. I'm not quite sure how efficient Feriduni is compared to the other top doctors, but I do know he is willing to go more aggressive than most. That might account for higher graft estimates on his part. For example, I was quoted 1800 by Lorenzo, 1500 by Bisanga, and 1800-2400 by Feridnuni. However the quote for Lorenzo and Bisanga was for a more conservative hairline (they both resisted doing the one I drew), while Feriduni was quoting what I had drawn. Ended up doing 2550 with Feriduni. Would have been interesting to know how many grafts Lorenzo would have used over the same area. But I do know if I had gone with Lorenzo I probably would not have gotten the hairline I wanted.
  4. If you drive to work, there is a very small chance you'll get into a collision and die. If you try Fin, there is a very small chance you'll get permanent side effects. I drive to work and take Fin. Very solid decision on my part... because I need to get to work.
  5. Yeah it's ironic that celebrities have the money to go to anyone, yet a lot still go to the shitty doctors in Beverly Hills and whatnot. I think it's a combination of laziness (little to no research), and being too impatient to deal with a long waiting list. The world class docs tend to have like 6-12 month wait times.
  6. I'm not sure any other doctor could have accomplished this result with only 2800 grafts. I think most would have gone through 4000+ trying to mimic this same result, and probably failed. The yield is superb, and usage of grafts incredibly efficient.
  7. 6-7 months, yeah was sort of counting down the days. Afterwards I cover the area with native hair and barely think about it now. I'm OK waiting for growth
  8. I think this is basically as good as it gets for FUT. Very nice!
  9. The closest cure for hairloss is basically Fin/Dut. Consider getting on Fin sooner rather than later.. DUT is a more aggressive form of Fin, greater chance of side effects, so probably best to avoid that one. Sell the laser comb on ebay and buy some Nizoral shampoo IMO.
  10. There is a lot of false and misleading information out there, but without the internet it would be much harder to sort it all out. I'm very thankful to have the internet as a resource. Sites like this allow people to post their experiences (good or bad) and learn from the wisdom of others. Not everything you read is accurate, but the aggregate of the information is truly invaluable.
  11. Wow, either result from those studies sounds great to me. I was under the impression after 10+ years you should not expect to have as much hair as when you started, you would just be losing hair at a drastically reduced rate. If most people actually have more hair at that point, that's amazing.
  12. If the patient had walked into your office wearing concealer would you have taken pictures as is too? There are various techniques to create the illusion of better hair. My point is it doesn't seem like a serious attempt was made to break down that illusion in the result pictures. I understand the patient may not be eager to mess up his/her hair for pictures, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Also, immediate post op pictures showing the graft placement would be helpful especially in this case.
  13. Looks like a big improvement, but the full extent of the result is very much so not clear. In the after pictures he is sporting an immaculate combover. This is like showing off a house, without letting anyone look inside. For all we know you could have only transplanted hairs on the far right side of his head, and there could be nothing under his combover. Also the before and afters are an apples to oranges comparison. Yes, he didn't have a whole lot of hair up top to start with, but if it had been styled with the same combover technique his starting hair situation would have looked a lot more favorable. This is like in infomercials when they show something in black and white to indicate it's "bad", then show something in color with sparkles to indicate it's "good". You emphasized his hairloss, then styled his hair perfectly and put a sparkle on it to show us his result.
  14. So if he experienced no more growth at this point, this is a "very nice" result? I don't see 40cm^2 at the hairline.
  15. Kind of confused. The title describes this as a "Very nice FUE result" But we're supposed to presume he has a lot more growing to do? If this is the final result, I don't think I'd call this very nice. Doesn't look like 40+cm^2 at the hairline to me. Also, why is there already a plan to do another procedure using beard hair and whatnot? Was this really as much a success as claimed? Did the patient plan on doing this additional surgery at the time of planning the one shown here?
  16. There is usually a notcieable improvement in everyone's result from 8 months to a year, so at the very least you should see a nice improvement. You said some of your hairs look thin wispy, which leads me to believe you have a lot more growing to do. It can take up to 18 months to see 100% of the result. Try not to worry too much about your result because there's nothing you can do but wait, and there's no way in heck you'll be able to detect improvement over the course of days. Try not to look at your hair much for a month, then get critical again!
  17. I have no personal experience using either RU or Fin topicals. From what I've read they're less effective than systematic Fin (pill) for the main reason of low absoprtion rates into the hair follicles. It has also been argued that the relatively little amount absorbed doesn't necessarily stick around and remain effective for a long enough duration. I think the reason there doesn't seem to be major consensus regarding these is, like systematic fin, the results over any short term duration (as in a few years) are usually subtle. In other words, people are unable to measure it. It's like using some product that's supposed increase finger nail growth rate by 50%, and trying to determine if it works by eyeballing the result after 1 day. Good luck with that. Systematic Fin however has had several major scientific studies done and the results are well established. Fighting hairloss with just Minxodil is an uphill battle, and one you will likely eventually lose because it doesn't address the root of the problem (pun intended). Minoxidil tends to turn back the clock on your hairloss a few years by rewakening recent hairs that have gone dorment... so in a few years, theoretically, you will be back to your starting point and continue to lose hairs as though you were not on any treatment. I would look for studies relating to topical RU and Fin and then choose the one that seems most promising based on that.
  18. Immediate post op pics would have been very helpful to see as it's not clear the surface area where hairs were transplanted. The pictures (from the clinic?) are not quite apples to apples, and the final results seem to be presented in the most flattering way - that is, hair is styled to obscure density and hair is combed over sides of hairline. By contrast in the preop pics his hair is styled in the opposite way, to reveal flaws. I'd like to think this is a nice result but there are a lot of variables that remain to be seen. It would be nice to see more detailed views of his result (i.e. entire hairline pulled back, closeups, hair parted at various areas in transplanted area, hair wet, etc). Hair transplants rely on illusion to be effective, but I don't want to be sold a magic trick. I want to see behind the certains.
  19. Sounds like you did your homework, kudos! I think you'll be in good hands with Feriduni. He's one of those doctors who you can tell genuinely cares about your well being. When I met with him I could tell he really did enjoy his work. He seemed enthusiastic to work on my case. It was clear my outcome was important to him. The whole time I felt like I was talking with a colleague rather than a doctor. I ended up going over the number of grafts I paid for by about 150, and without mentioning it he didn't charge me. When I asked about it later, he explained it was close enough and not to worry. If you can, I highly recommend staying for 3-5 days post op. The first few days after are the most important, and they will take very good care of you.
  20. Think of it this way, doctors prefer shaving the donor site because it is easier for them to harvest grafts. It's what they've grown comfortable doing, and what they have the most experience with. Even if a doctor attempted to harvest without shaving, would you really want them to? You'd likely compromise your result.
  21. Options off the top of my head to conceal the scar, 1. Do a relatively small FUE operation into the scar, this should help conceal it a lot 2. Do SMP over the scar 3. Do both 1 and 2 4. Do scalp laxity exercises for a month or two, have a better surgeon redo the entire FUT scar, and take it very easy for several months afterwards. I'm guessing the scar now is smaller than the actual strip taken out, so that combined with the fact a better surgeon would be doing the scar revision, it would probably heal a lot better. 5. Do 4, 1, and 2 in that order. This is probably the best long term approach but of course is the most expensive, inconvenient, and time consuming. But if you did this option with due diligence I bet your scar would be invisible to the naked eye.
  22. Sorry for the confusion, I was not referring to your answers but the "OMG this is amazing, how is this real?" type of reactions on the first page. I understand the low quality pictures from the patient are not your fault.
  23. An immediate post op would be helpful to see. I'm guessing the entire frontal forelock was nuked from orbit and transplanted over? Considering this, and that his hairline was lowered along with the temple corners brought forward slightly, this seems pretty good for only 2000 grafts. But I think he needed more than 2000 grafts. The density, especially at the hairline itself, is quite low. I think another 1000 grafts could have made a big difference. While I think he would benefit from a higher density the low density at least looks natural. He can use toppik/concealer now too if he desires, as his hairline is much better.
  24. I looked at the first page and don't understand the "OMG" reaction. You literally cannot see the hairline in detail where it was transplanted. The pictures are low quality, dark, and blurry.
  25. I did not consult with Erdogan but I found that Feriduni was willing to be very aggressive with the hairline with no questions asked. I don't think you'd have a problem doing any semi-reasonable hairline with him. Oddly he quoted me the most amount of grafts of anyone I consulted with. Did you show him the same pictures as Erdogan? I would go with whoever has the results you like the most, and forget about the price. I think it's worth it even if the results may only be slightly better. Save up longer or maybe get a loan if necessary.
