  1. Looks pretty good for 3300 grafts, but hard to tell how good because in every post op pic his hair is styled impeccably to his favor. Some shots with the hair lifted and close ups of the density would be helpful.
  2. Nice result for the number of grafts, but I'm curious why there is no good picture showing the result on his crown.
  3. Number one fear for me is the result will look unnatural (i.e. too low a density or synthetic looking hairline design). Might be from shockloss, bad yield, bad luck, doctor had a bad day while doing the HT, not following post op instructions, deceived by the doctor with misrepresentative result pictures, etc. Would never entertain the idea of FUT so scarring is not a concern. Videos are great and can tell the story a lot better than pictures. Bad results can be hidden pretty easily with pictures, but when you're taking video and moving around the hair it's much harder. I wish more doctors did them... and I realize many don't because then their substandard results would be more evident. And videos with still frame pictures obviously don't count.
  4. If you're not sure yet if you want FUE or FUT, you're in no position whatsoever to choose a surgeon and I don't see the point of doing consultations either IMO. If you go to a FUT doctor, he will try to sell you on FUT. He's not going to tell you about any bad experiences or results, only the good... the sugar coated version of the good. Like the above poster said you need to invest a lot of time researching a HT first. The answers to your questions are out there and pretty much all of them are actually better answered by people who are not trying to sell you a HT i.e. clinics. Going to consultations for general HT information is a bad idea, not to mention a waste of time IMO. Google all the questions you have, there's lots of wisdom to read up on not just on this site but also several others out there. And of course for answers you can't find post the questions here. Also, I don't recommend looking for a surgeon necessarily in the UK. Start looking at the surgeons with the results you like, period. If one happens to be in the UK, great.
  5. Ok I give you some credit, but that doesn't show your result. You don't have to post it, just saying what I'm sure others are thinking.
  6. Considering that is your first post, I'm afraid I must say... pics or didn't happen
  7. I've never heard that as an advantage with FUE before, interesting. However I think most would agree all else being the same a FUE result will be less than or equal to a FUT. I think you're right about this guy having fine hair, but I don't think that fully justifies the difference. In Lorenzo's video he combs through the hair and the consistency of the yield is phenomenal. Now look at picture 20 of 20 in this case. You could have convinced me this was FUE and Lorenzo's was FUT.
  8. Startling how much hair can be lost in just three years. In 1999 it looked like you were around HW2, then in 2012 you had progressed to like NW4. Now you hair looks better than back in 1999, you must be thrilled
  9. This is why I think there was an issue with yield, https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174776-3101-fue-injertocapilar-farjo-dr-lorenzo.html In the above case, Lorenzo transplanted 3100 grafts with FUE over an area that I'd say is as large if not larger (the crown was included) and the difference in density and consistency is night and day compared to this case. The case in this thread was FUT, which should be advantageous for yield.
  10. Yeah I think I was too harsh in general, overall this is a pretty good result. I still suspect some yield issues though. I'm mainly comparing pic 8 of 20 with 20 of 20. If each of the elevated "pimples" sort of speak in immediate post op pic 8 is a graft, I would not have expected such a soft hairline in the result shown in pic 20.
  11. I bet it's tricky getting it done when you hair loss has already had so much exposure and you're recognizable world wide. If he did a HT and became NW2 (just closed off the temple areas), gossip would immediately start because he's already show cased his hairloss very clearly without even trying to hide it in a bunch of recent movie roles. Sadly a HT falls under a bad stigma, I call it the "plastic surgery" stigma. He might be able to get away with it, but it's risky and I'm sure he does not like the idea of all the drama that would follow.
  12. I believe Clooney actually has god mode hair like Brad Pitt. He shaved it into a V during ER for the character. He's done stuff like that before in other movie roles too. For example in Syriana and Men Who Stare at Goats he shaved not just the temple areas back but also the entire hairline itself. When you need to shave your hair back in movie roles to look worse because your hairline is just too good... you know you have great hair. Bastard lol.
  13. Your best bet is to spend a few months miticulously looking at FUT results from top docs around the world, reading experiences and reviews, and doing some consults. This process should not be rushed, after you think you've reviewed all the doctors of interest... do it all over again. And gain. And again. You will see things differently each time around around. After you're familiar with your favorite docs and every single one of their results and reviews ever posted on the internet like the back of your hand, you might be ready to make a decision. I don't know why you want FUT though.
  14. 10-15mm is pretty thick, If I were you I think I'd spent a month or two doing scalp exercises, go to a top doctor to revise the scar, and do my best to avoid stretching it. Follow every recommendation to the T, then after it has healed up thinner (hopefully) get a few hundred FUE done into the scar. I wouldn't take this lightly considering it's been bothering you for 6 years, and you still have the rest of your life ahead of you!
  15. Seems like a recurring theme though with his results. I also suspect there are yield issues as I when I look at his pictures I don't think, "Wow not bad for only X grafts" it's usually the opposite.
  16. I think Fin works consistently over years of use, but Minoxidl can lose effectiveness. Both work differently. Fin is better at preventing future loss and stabilizing what you have, whereas Minoxidil is better at stimulating recently miniaturized hairs and turning back the clock on your hairloss by a few years. Initially you can possibly get better results with Min, but you will still be losing hairs... after 5+ years of use, Fin will likely have effectively prevented much more hairloss.
  17. Interesting I always thought he just used concealers but the difference seems too dramatic as mentioned above
  18. Can transplanting too close to existing hairs cause shockloss?
  19. I wouldn't call the results linked "outstanding" however the the 700 FUE seems pretty good... this is one of the few that doesn't show the hair pulled up though. The 5461 in three sessions is suspicous to me as based on the before pictures the guy needed like 2000 grafts max... 5461 later he has a nice result, but what went wrong with the first two sessions? The rest are generally not impressive IMO and tend to share the common theme of either having a low yield or trying to spread too many grafts over too large an area. Perhaps that's why the one guy went through three sessions and a whopping 5461 grafts to cover a relatively small area. Dr. Lorenzo has turned a NW5 into a NW1/NW2 with 5461 grafts, Dr. Frank turned a NW2 (or maybe just a thinning NW1) into... a non thinning NW1 with 5461 grafts. Overall I'm not impressed, but there are certainly worse doctors out there and I tend to be very critical.
  20. The quality of the pictures is low (blurry and pixelated), and the views are very limited. If you have more/better pictures it might be a good idea to make a separate, more detailed post for each of these cases. Were these pictures taken by the doctor's clinic, if so I don't understand the low quality and limited views.
  21. It's not "ideal" for the reason you mentioned about shockloss, but I think with a top notch surgeon it would be worth it. I would just be sure to choose a surgeon who has lots of experiencing increasing existing density, such as Lorenzo.
  22. I believe most docs refer to the transplanted grafts as being permanently secured at 10 days, so playing soccer and possibly heading butting the ball 32 days post op should theoretically not be a problem. But personally I don't think would do it though as I'd rather be safe than sorry... or if I did do it, I would make a point to keep my head away from the ball.
  23. He has quite a long wait list. I have been on the waiting list since October, and my procedure is in about a month now. Someone canceled right before Christmas, but that was obviously a bad time and I couldn't take it. Fortunately another person canceled in May, otherwise I could have potentially been waiting until August.
