  1. After my first FUT I was always able to feel the scar but if I was to lift my hair and search for the scar without feeling it, I was unable to really notice it. With my second FUT the previous scar was cut out and replaced with a new one. This time around I don't feel it. I think it has a lot to do with surgeon's closure technique and the way you heal.
  2. I just read up on dermatitis and it states that the lost hair should grow back. Did your doctor mention the same? If yes, perhaps wait to see if it grows back before proceeding. I would say 4500 grafts is probably what is needed and perhaps a combination with BHT may be a good option. Eugenix has excellent results with BHT and you should definitely consult with them also.
  3. When zooming in there does seem to be growth. I see shorter thin hairs which should thicken over time. Also, if you compare your 3 month to 4 month there is a difference as well. This is usually the start of growth so hopefully it should continue to pickup and improve from here.
  4. That should hopefully keep him stable and not even need another surgery. This is truly a great result.
  5. Wow, that is some really good early growth at only 3 months. Really filling in nicely.
  6. Sorry to hear about your situation. Have you had a scalp biopsy performed? My recommendation before proceeding with another transplant is to get a biopsy performed to ensure there are no scarring related issues. Otherwise, you don't want to end up spending more money on another transplant and have to deal with this again. I agree you should definitely consult with Eugenix but based on prior pics you had posted there seems to be a lot of bare scalp in the mid scalp and I think you should get it checked. Keep us posted on how things go and hoping everything gets sorted out.
  7. Dr Bloxham has some great results looking forward to seeing future updates. You are still very early. You probably will not see much until at least 3 months. This is probably the toughest period for everyone but it's the process and how it goes. Another thing I've read is that the crown generally takes a bit longer. Actually the attached is an article from Dr. Feller and Dr. Bloxham related to hair popping and growth timelines on avg.
  8. For 6.5 months this is a complete change. He must be extremely pleased with much more time left to progress still. Even the change from 4 to 6.5 months is huge. This is a great result with the use of only 4600 grafts for full coverage. Is the patient on any meds to prevent any further dipping of his crown lateral humps?
  9. You are almost past the toughest period. Looks good for 8 weeks. As for shampoo you should now be able to use any shampoo. I have been alternating between baby shampoo and Aveeno which is sulfate and paraben free also.
  10. I agree staying healthy has nothing to do with hair loss. Tbh honest I don't really think it has much to do with shedding either. My two hair transplants were 10 years apart. In my 9th year post HT I started lifting weights again and I noticed I started losing a lot of my native hair. I was still on Finasteride but it seemed like the weight lifting caused my body to produce more testosterone and thus more conversion to DHT. The Finasteride probably couldn't keep the levels as low as it was keeping normally as a result. Prior to this I honestly was not even planning a second HT in the near future. So I also like you found hair loss being accelerated as a result of the weight lifting - I was not on any performance enhancers. I mostly read that there is no relationship to lifting weights and hair loss but again this has not been studies very well. But I did come across a few articles stating that DHT increase occurs. So yes, anyone not impacted by DHT would be fine but those that are can lose hair at a faster pace. Here is a recent video I found on this subject as well.
  11. He rarely ever got hit even with good boxers so yeah no chance he gets hit.
  12. His HT looks great though. Not so sure though why he wasted grafts on a beard. People generally save beard grafts for the hair. Don't get me wrong beards rock but I feel he should have kept some for the head but again not sure of his level of loss. Guys how about if he just didn't shed and grafts just grew. Even when he used to be off between fights he never used to let his weight fluctuate much. He claims to not drink and his only bad habit are his twinky cravings lol. Maybe staying really active and healthy got his blood circulation really good and the grafts just kept growing.
  13. Donor looks good. You look like you have no hair loss elsewhere so this 2400 should hopefully make you really glad you did it. Had a question about adding Dutasteride 1x a week. Was this prescribed by Dr. Rahal or your family doctor? Out of curiosity what made you add Dutasteride to your Finasteride regimen?
  14. Is all hair on top only transplanted? If yes, you should not worry about permanent shockloss from an experienced surgeon as they would shave down the recipient area to see the existing hair. Your donor looks good. Also, the hairline seems fine I think you should focus on the mid and see if you can get light crown coverage or leave the crown for a future procedure.
  15. Front looks really nice and dense. Huge difference from the pre-op.
  16. With diffuse thinning and transplanting between them without stabilizing loss via meds can be a potential risk for permanent shock loss. Any doctor who says otherwise and does not discuss meds with you is being unethical. Finasteride sides can happen but are rare and stop once the medication is stopped. Anything you read online about permanent sides have not been proven as far as I know and if it ever did happen is even more rare. A lot of people start with micro dosing, taking the tablet once a week, then twice a week and gradually building up to daily or every other day allowing your body to adjust.
  17. Have you reached out to the clinic to get their feedback? It's possible you are a slow grower and hopefully things start to grow in.
  18. What has probably happened is that during washing the hair strand broke off leaving behind the remaining hair. Given that majority of transplanted hair sheds had it not broke off it would have shed and you would probably not have seen the stubble. It's just now there is not much hair sticking out to help remove it during washing. It will probably get pushed out at the 3-4 month mark when the new hair comes through. You are almost at 2 months right?
  19. In most cases a single hair transplant session will not be the solution. Meds will slow down the loss but not completely halt it. So you will continue to lose hair but at a much slower rate. Hence, multiple HT sessions will be needed. I was a NW 5 diffuse thinner and 10 years between my two hair transplants got on Finasteride and Minoxidil and really slowed down the loss. I kept my hair 2 inches long on the top and nobody would really be able to notice any signs of hair loss besides my crown which was always thin but has held up pretty well on meds. My plan is to go in for a third session next year to get some crown work done. Hopefully, that will be good for a while. I may lose some more native hair between my transplanted hair but after a certain age you may just be comfortable with a thinning look and not be so bothered by it. So are hair transplants worth it? In my opinion absolutely.
  20. I've been told all you really need in most cases is a few hundred and would really camaoflouge that scar.
  21. I switched back to normal shampooing as well around the one month mark. Aveeno has some shampoos which are mild without any parabens and sulphates. I've switched to the Aveeno shampoos now. I used to shampoo daily cause my scalp would get really oily but recently switched to every other day. Anyone else have that issue?
  22. A stretched scar does not always happen. At least not that common with first surgeries but as others have mentioned it can easily be corrected with a very small FUE procedure.
  23. @Melvin-Moderator and @JohnAC71 did you use baby shampoo past the 1 month mark or just the first couple of weeks?
