  1. You will most likely be able to go over with a number 3 guard but it will take time as the scar heals and hair starts to grow through it. Do you know if Dr. Bloxham used a trichophytic closure?
  2. 6 months is still early so do not be discouraged if certain areas are filling in slower than others. This is actually quite common since each hair has its own cycle. You will have a better idea at the one year mark but there was already a noticeable difference on your last set of pics and it has probably gotten even better since then. Hang in there and if you feel you need more coverage on the mid scalp you can always have a second pass and it's actually normal for people to have a second pass.
  3. Dr. Bloxham has some great results so def a great choice. I guess he will probably fill wherever there is thinning in the front and probably put most in the mid where you have most lost.
  4. I would say it also depends on how much coverage is required for all areas and available donor. If there is light thinning in the crown and potential for permanent shock loss then It's probably better left alone. If it has thinned enough where the surgeon can safely transplant around existing natives and donor is available then it makes more sense to proceed.
  5. The mid and crown is where you have the most loss. The front you still have a lot of healthy hairs and if you continue on Finasteride those should most likely stay that way. Between those 3000 grafts were you advised on how much would be transplanted in the front vs the mid? Who was the surgeon you consulted with?
  6. As @JohnAC71 mentioned most people see growth around the 3.5 to 4 month mark so hopefully it should be very soon now. You are past the tough wait period.
  7. Yes, that's still early. But if your blood pressure drops really low you would probably know. Another month and a half you should hopefully enter the growth phase. Stay positive and try not to think of all these things.
  8. Have you tested your blood pressure? Don't over think all these things. I know the first 3-4 months post HT can seem like forever. How far along are you?
  9. Are you asking if anyone experienced more frequent urination during surgery?
  10. It's too early for me to tell whether it will turn out the same or improved. Right now it seems about the same which i'd still be happy with. During my first surgery my Laxity was good no issues. The plan at that time was to get 3500 grafts and probably could have got more but the surgeon didn't perform surgeries larger than 3500 grafts. This was also with a surgeon who was recommended on this site before he retired and I was pleased with the results.
  11. What are your thoughts on topical Dutasteride? I've been debating on whether to add to my Finasteride regimen. The other thing is it's not easy to get a hold of.
  12. For some who always ask about FUT scars. Here is a pic of what the scar from my first surgery looked like. It was not too bad and Dr. Wong was able to cut out and replace with a new one. The only thing he mentioned was that a lot of scar tissue was built up beneath which he had to remove.
  13. A bit shy of 3 months but here is an update. Scar is healing well. Still a bit red and some shock loss around the scar but is slowly recovering. It seemed I had experienced shock loss around my previously transplanted hairs but I would say it has slowly recovered. I believe it to be shock loss growing back because if you zoom into my pics you will notice a lot of short hairs around the longer hair but majority of the short hairs seem quite thick. I am also seeing some thinner short hairs but I can't tell if it's my miniaturized native hairs regrowing or new grafts. The other thing I should mention is that when hair is trimmed down for the surgery it looks so much thinner than when you had your hair at longer lengths and it can be difficult cause you don't have the layering effect plus if you experience shock loss. The thing to remember is be patient and have faith that it will get better. Dr. Wong sets specific dates he wants patients to follow up with him and I can't say enough about the level of care from him and the clinic.
  14. In that case permanent shock loss should not really be an issue. But temporary shock loss can happen so just be prepared for that but keep in mind it should slowly start to come back around the 3 month mark. Some people experience more shock loss than others and my surgeon advised that it is difficult to predict to who it will happen. Having the mindset to k ow it can happen and that it should start to grow back around 3 months will greatly help you deal with it for the first 3 months. It's when people are not prepared of this possibility that it becomes a very difficult 3-4 months where you seem to have even less hair than where you started.
  15. I'm still a bit shy of my 3 month mark. Should hopefully update soon.
  16. It probably felt like the longest 3 months of your life but the good news is that you are past that stage and that much closer to your new hairs popping through. Your scar has healed up quite well. I also had some shock loss around my scar but like you felt some stubble like hairs which I assume was shock loss growing back. Happy growing man.
  17. The good news is that after this point things should be much closer to the growth starting.
  18. I believe a lot has to do with skill of surgeon and whether you are on meds. Keep in mind though that temporary shock loss can still happen from surgical trauma and the anesthesia. Transection should most likely not be an issue with an experienced surgeon. You will most likely be asked to shave down the recipient site. Who is the surgeon?
  19. Actually, I meant to type 3 and not 1. The challenges of typing on a small phone.
  20. Looks like growth has started and you are just a little over 3 months it seems. Exciting times ahead.
  21. Funny thing is nobody thinks this is a hair transplant. I guess majority of people don't realize how natural a hair transplant actually looks like compared to the plugs back in the days. A lot of people are commenting saying if Floyd can grow his hair out maybe I can as well.
  22. Out of curiosity when scalp hairs or if scalp hairs are used would they grow long on eyebrows or does the recipient area change the characteristics?
