Been asking a few of the guys on here with their experiences & have asked a few clinics regarding this:
Some clinics take only a small deposit to book you in or maybe a quarter of the final price, but others (including some of the big names) ask for a large down payment & a deposit 2,3,4 weeks BEFORE the operation. The deposit is not a problem as it's 1-2k, but the down payment can be 50, 60 or even 100% of the final surgery price! So it can be 10 or 15k!!
I know the surgeon wants to keep his/her right & pay staff & also ensure you turn up and it's fine. But would the surgeon be paying his staff all those thousands of dollars for that day if the patient didn't turn up?
How can you be expected to pay half or all of the surgery price before you've even left home or seen the doc?
Your thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.
