  1. To some men, propecia is the devil & it's poison, to others it's very holy & they defend it because they haven't had side effects or they don't think they have done. I've used it for 3 years. I'm as horny as a dog but it has had an impact on me- just a little bit. I think I now produce less semen or think I do & it's slightly more watery. As a precaution, I take the tablet every 2-3 days. 6 months after my transplant or even a year after, I will get off it & will use saw palmetto instead & mino foam on the crown.
  2. Congrats on your op! I contacted him and he sent me a computerised image of where the hairline will end up. Keep us posted!
  3. Greetings. Finasteride & minoxidil are the only two approved meds. How advanced is your loss? Pics? Look on this website and some of the prices you see might be affordable and can be done on finance depending on your geographical location, but I agree it's not cheap
  4. any pics you can attach pls? stay on the propecia. start using mino foam or lotion. A friend of mine uses the lotion with very good results. you may consider FUE in a few years time depending on your hairloss.
  5. Some of the surgeons on here must do it. Dr feriduni does it. I saw a gentleman he worked on who was a burn victim. Very good end result. Punch his name in on here. He's based in Belgium though
  6. I've used it for 3 years. It maintains more than it regrows. Hairloss will continue to progress slowly but surely. It's like you're trying to stop the tide with a panel door. You can only hold it for so long. Surgery is the only way. Even that is not a cure but helps massively
  7. Been asking a few of the guys on here with their experiences & have asked a few clinics regarding this: Some clinics take only a small deposit to book you in or maybe a quarter of the final price, but others (including some of the big names) ask for a large down payment & a deposit 2,3,4 weeks BEFORE the operation. The deposit is not a problem as it's 1-2k, but the down payment can be 50, 60 or even 100% of the final surgery price! So it can be 10 or 15k!! I know the surgeon wants to keep his/her right & pay staff & also ensure you turn up and it's fine. But would the surgeon be paying his staff all those thousands of dollars for that day if the patient didn't turn up? How can you be expected to pay half or all of the surgery price before you've even left home or seen the doc? Your thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.
  8. Taking both is too much. A friend tried both and it killed his libido. Everyone is different I suppose.
  9. yeah we'd all like to see your progress especially with that nice number of grafts you had!
  10. I looked at all the big name surgeons on here and some of them require all the surgical fee up front weeks before the op and some require at least half of the operation fee. Its scheduled for sept. I'm having at least 4k done as per the recommendation from the surgeons i spoke to. If the surgeon can extract it, then I'll want to have maximum grafts and go way past 4k. Cheers donald Janna- cheers for the info once again Corvettester- yes I agree, very nice result so far! I'm happy for you
  11. howdy. youll have less density and coverage of course but if you have good laxity, that would help the surgeon to extract more hairs from a larger strip- if you are getting a FUT. but if the hair shafts are medium or thick, then you would still get a good result.
  12. No problem pal. Corvettester cheers for the info. Don't mean to hijack the post, but just to chat to you boys, I'm planning to go to Canada for surgery, but will stay there maybe 10-14 days to chill out, as I dont want to be flying back to the UK soon after the op and feel the strain on the flight. Paying most of the surgical balance BEFORE you've even left your house is unreasonable IMO. I understand a clinic wants to have the right to earn a fee incase the patient doesn't turn up on the day, but to pay most of it all up front weeks in advance prior to the surgery is a bit of a joke. so you'd be looking at paying maybe 10 or 15k USD up front weeks before the op
  13. running and swimming- 2 weeks. weights and sit ups- i would wait at least a month. in fact i wouldnt dare do sit up before the 6 weeks mark. you dont want to risk stretching the scar if you've had FUT
  14. His donor hair is like wire! Amazing result for the amount of grafts used!
  15. Do your research and once you're done, do more research. I've decided on who to go to for mine but I'm still reading everyday. Educating oneself is paramount. Good luck!
  16. 5mg of finesteride daily?! That's right, Dr Lindsey has an excellent reputation & he's near you. I wish if I had a quality surgeon near me. But I'm not scared to travel & will be visiting one in the 3rd quarter of the year. All the best
  17. Happy birthday pal! I've got 11 days off work, so cheers!
  18. Please do share them! I'm due surgery & have a tight scalp or I think I do, so I need to loosen it. I have been exercising the scalp but not enough
  19. You'll be in good hands. I feel your anxiety. I'm due an op later in the year. The hairline will be dense packed with 2k. You're likely to recede behind the new hairline later in life, so you may need further surgery to chase that dream. Everyone with your hair loss pattern is in the same boat. All the best pal
  20. Ignore my previous comment- I hadn't seen your recent set of photos as I was viewing the site from the iPhone & the photos didn't appear at first. Now your head looks so much fuller! All the best!
