  1. After a HT, if you're getting decent growth, how do you go about continuing to maintain your hair and preventing future hair loss in other areas? Obviously you want to say on Proscar/Propecia, but should you still use Minoxidil in the transplanted hair region or only other areas (since transplanted hairs and now permanent, does minoxidil matter?) I guess an ultimate concern of mine would be is prevent future hair loss in other areas, otherwise you would just end up chasing your losses with more HT's. What's the best course of action here?
  2. Hi, What happens if you have a low hair count per graft? Is 1.5 hairs/graft considered low? I know anything over 2 results in an excellent density. Thanks.
  3. Hi, I was wondering if the returning growth rate of shave off existing hair that you had in the area of transplant hairs, is slower after transplant? Should the native hair grow back as the regular rate your hair always grows or will grow back similar to transplanted hair growth timeline?
  4. it seems to have the possibility of growing your existing or native hair back faster than usual. not sure if it has been scientifically proven or what an effective dose would be. but i saw somethin on this forum that said 3000 mg is a ideal dosage.
  5. Other than MSM (3000 mg), Biotin, Minoxidil and Propecia what else can be taken/or done to regrow lost recipient shaved hair? Also, is MSM in powder form more effective then capsules?
  6. wow, thats got to be the worst looking website advertising hair transplant/cosmetic surgery procedures i have ever seen. from the pictures of the buildings, patients, even the picture of the medical degrees in frames . something about it looks scary rather than comforting....
  7. I was wondering how does hair regrowth after a transplant exactly work, if you are applying say 5% minoxidil to encourage growth (after the transplanted hairs have shed)? Does the hair shed, then go throw a dormant stage then regrow? Is that why the timeline for growth can be a few months after a transplant? If that is the case, is this situation comparable to users who say use 5% minoxidil for the FIRST TIME and don't see any growth right away, but after a few months of continuous use, start to see growth? In my situation, I remember the first time I used 5% minoxidil and it took a few weeks before I saw small velus hairs growing around my hairline and eventually grew out a bit over a few months. I'm wondering if I get a HT, would this essentially be the same scenario after the transplanted hairs shed?
  8. Hey thanks for your replies! The extraction part of FUE seems to be the most critical point, since the incisions & placement of grafts, hairline design seems to have already been mastered by him and his team. Does the yield of grafts (i.e-obtaining good grafts versus damaged grafts) depend on the surgeon's ability to extract them?
  9. Does anyone have any more information on this, what type of FUE tool/technique he is using? Dr. Rahal seems very good for FUT work, and has recently incorporated FUE into his practice. Just wondering, if his FUE results will be the same compared to FUT work...
