Regular Member kondofoni Posted April 5, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) Wow, Danny! looks Awesome.. Since I'm myself a Dr Bisanga patient, and we talked about it that I went just couple of month before you did: (a) Of course you're 100% legit. (b) I was happy after 4 months, but now I'm in 6 months... and the growth continue.. so, I can tell you that you're going to be surprised (c) about the color.. for example, I'm looking more blond now .. i guess the color change is just because now we have more hairs on our head.. (d) Bisanga is top Elite Dr! I never understood those people that goes on the journey and then leave all those forums and continue with their life, but fortunately, I'm becoming like that; I'm more happy and less obsessed about my hair and less and less following forums and the industry.. * Still, it's nice to see your results Danny.. Cheers! Edited April 5, 2020 by kondofoni

Regular Member Danny1671 Posted April 14, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 14, 2020 6 Month Update: Hi guys apologies for the late update. Time has flown by and I can’t believe 6 months have passed already! My hair is continuing to grow although I’m not sure there has been a huge change from 5 months, I’ll let you be the judge. There are still some areas that haven’t grown as densely as I’d hoped especially on the right hand side of my hairline into the mid scalp but hoping they’ll catch up with the rest as it’s still early days really. The crown is still a little thin but nowhere near as bad as it was. I can totally see how a hair transplant works as more of an ‘illusion’ of density. When my hair is wet through and in certain bright daylight it looks a lot thinner. However when dry or styled to the side or messed up it looks really thick! You can see this clearly in one of the following photos which was taken in broad sunny daylight with wet hair combed forward and another one spiked up showing the thinnest areas. I never wear my hair like this but thought it would be useful for those thinking of getting a procedure done to see the reality of it. The other photos are taken in a more ambient light which in my opinion looks best. The patch in the middle of my scalp that wasn’t worked on looks thinner in contrast but I’m getting pretty good coverage anyway. I’m still taking oral Minoxidil daily and propecia every other day to hopefully bide some time, however, when I meet with Dr B for my progress check I might discuss options for sorting this area in the future. I’ve also heard that if he’s not totally happy with the work or if some grafts didn’t want to grow that he offers a free touch up which demonstrates his commitment to excellence and professionalism. Overall I’m amazed at the difference from where I started from and I’m much happier with my hair. To not feel the need for concealer is priceless. If you are thinking of getting this done, do your research, ask questions, and ask more! Having realistic goals and expectations will put you in the best starting point. Then you can enjoy the journey! Sod’s law we are in lockdown 😂😂 Any questions please ask 😎

Huncholini
This looks promising. Mid Scalp does look thinner, but it looked like grafts weren't packed in as densely in the mid scalp as they were in the hairline and that's down to the design of Dr.Bisanga who probably knows best! I've seen that you have to wait a year for the final result, so looks like you've got a good 6 months of growing still to go! Good luck! I am looking at booking in with Dr Bisanga but I am a 5V on the scale as of today. Only 24 so slightly worried I will have more hairloss in the future and want to avoid another procedure where possible as I may need upwards of 5000 grafts for the first. Thanks and happy growing! Regular Member Danny1671 Posted September 20, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 20, 2020 11.5 Months update Hi all, here is an update of progress after 11.5 months. Not a huge amount of change really in the last 5 months although the transplanted hair is a little thicker maybe. The right side behind the hairline is still sparse and I’d had hoped this would’ve thickened up by now but doesn’t look like it will happen. I’m really hoping Dr B will offer to touch up this area. The area in the mid scalp that didn’t receive any grafts has unfortunately continued to thin despite taking finasteride. I think the hair was just to miniaturised here but this was fully expected. Dr B left this area as there was a high risk of shock loss, which if occurred, I’d be left with the same lower density anyway so thought it was worth a shot with medication. I think it looks even thinner now the transplanted hair has thickened up due to the difference in hair shaft diameter. The way I get around it is to leave my hair longer on top. This is frustrating though as I like to have short cropped hair. Still I’d rather do this that start using hair fibres again! I was taking Propecia 3 times a week then upped to every other day. The last two months I have taken it every day to see if it makes a difference. No side effects at present that I’m aware of. That being said I only have to look back at my pre-op photos and I’m still amazed at the difference! Overall I’m much happier with my hair. I feel though that a touch up to the right side and a few grafts in the mid scalp in the future will give me the result I’d be most content with. My goal is to be able to wear my hair shorter without having to Combe over in certain areas. The photos are again with different lighting to show the difference. Obviously looks way thinner in Sunlight or daylight but ambient lighting I think it looks pretty well covered and this is where I feel most confident now where as before I was avoiding social meetings in pubs etc which was not healthy! Im glad I chose Dr Bisanga, he has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I’m actually looking forward to going back to BHR! 😂

Regular Member Danny1671 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 7, 2020 Thanks for the positive comments guys it really is confidence boosting. Really the hardest part of the journey was the first 2 months, the classic ugly duckling phase, but thanks to this life saver of a forum, I was fully prepared for it. I’m hoping to meet with Dr B soon as it’s exactly a year since my procedure. I’ll discuss the areas that are ‘niggling’ me to see if I could get them touched up. Overall I’m amazed at the difference compared to a year ago! Best of luck with all your journeys, and don’t hesitate to contact Dr Bisanga for a consultation, I think you’ll be glad you did.... I would be over the moon too, your hair transformation looks fantastic! Your eventual use of propecia interested me too, as this is a step I daren't quite tackle. Thanks for the comments, I hope my story helps others in the same seemingly hopeless position I was in a year ago! I was worried about taking finasteride for years. I nearly started taking it when I first noticed my hair thinning in 2007! I wish that I’d tried it back then as I may have saved a good amount of hair. I’ve been taking it for over a year now but not consistently every day until 3 months ago. I started low and gradually upped it and I think that helped psychologically. If I suffer side effects I’ll stop but strangely my libido is if anything slightly higher. Strange. The Dr assured me I have enough donor to chase loss in the future should medication not work for me, and that’s the most important consideration before committing to surgery in my opinion. Good luck with your own journey if you chose to go for it. 🙂
Regular Member Fahri Posted October 12, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted October 12, 2020 I appreciate your information regarding propecia/finisteride, as its a worry for me. Many use it with no issues, but you dont know if it'll affect you till you try, and it could help me or hinder - it looks to be doing a sterling job for you tho! Thanks for your kind words of support also, its in the pipeline for me, pulling funds together!
