Has nothing to do with the quality of the HT. His HT was in the front 1/3 of his head -- not his crown. He is obviously thinning in his crown and will need to go back to have that addressed or just deal with it. The area where the work was done actually looks really good IMO.

I could not find any recent pics of the front third, but i can assure you that if you watched today you would notice a considerable negative difference in that area over the past few months aswell.

Poor guy! He has been so scrutinized since his transplant.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

I read that in a lot of interviews and such it appeared he was using a lot of concealer. It could be that on the field when he's sweating and everything (and probably not wearing concealer) it looks worse.

I watched the game yesterday afternoon (what a cracker!) and I too noticed for the first time that his hair at the front looked gappy and his style was more of a comb-over than I've seen before.

Having watched many other games in which he's been sweating and/or it's been raining his hair has not looked as thin as it did last night. Perhaps his balding has continued, or perhaps he was trying to play without concealer for the first time, showing the true state of his hair.

The reason is he's not using as much concealer now also when nani scored someone ruffles rooneys hair, he then moves away from the group and tries to correct his hair. He's obviously paranoid also his head was soaking wet from rain so it will have loosened the concealer.

It's not rocket science is it? Most of us have spent years on these forums we know the timescales of hts and the effects of concealer, it makes me laugh that it's even up for debate by any user of this forum that he doesn't use concealer it's a fact he does but on the other thread which has been used since day 1 of rooneys ht there's been people saying he doesn't use concealer. The fact that we're seeing regression now just proves he's weaning off the concealer like any of us would, I personally think he'll have to keep using it in the crown for life or get some work there too.

If anyone has the game recorded watch all the man u celebrations, someone ruffles his hair and he's not happy he moves away very quickly to stop them and to readjust his hair.

Oh man, what does he expect? Was he never going to do a header

again? It's soccer - of course your hair is going to get ruffled up. With topik or nanogen I can see the problem. But with a good solid base of dermmatch I think his hair could withstand rain or a tussle or two.

He's ok heading as you do that with you're forehead but man united always celebrate ruffing the guy who scores head but someone did Rooney big time and it wasn't even his goal lol. Even my dad said I've never seen him react like that I think it's because with it raining you can rub the concealer out or it could be because he needs his hair to lay in a certain way to cover the area well. My hair before my last 2 transplants used to look decent but if it got moved out of place it looked poor.

Yeah, I think Rooney should have just come out and stated it takes a year to see results and it might look worse before it looks better. As it stood, the media could have been noticing how much better Rooney looks as time went on. Now, as he gets off concealers, people are going to say he is looking worse.

I have never seen a single game of soccer in my life, so all I know about him is what I see on this forum. My biggest advice concerning Rooney is to get off his jock strap. It seems every time you turn around someone is scrutinizing the poor guy.

I guess he can't be taking propecia as that is a banned substance for a professional footballer(?)

No FUE this summer unless he gets injured for the Euros, so I expect he will be back in the chair in Summer 2013.

It may not be a perfect result but it certainly isnt bad. Unfortunately for him the cameras are always pointing down at his head.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

I dont know how many grafts he had, most people have said 3k. If thats the case I think he's had a really good result , considering where he started.

HT No1 : Nobel clinic, Gatwick 500 grafts - Terrible result, left with bumpy skin

HT No2 : Marwan Saifi 1680 grafts. Great result

HT No3 - Marwan Saifi 1250 grafts. Another good result.

HT No4 - Hakan Doganay 2134 grafts. Result TBA

Total 5134 grafts.

Propecia was a banned substance but it isn't anymore:

The News of the World this week reported that England football star Wayne Rooney is planning to start taking the prescription-only hair loss medication Propecia after he got sick of teasing about his balding pate from teammates. Rooney, who is paid ?100,000 a week to play as a striker for Manchester United, has apparently already has a consultation to begin the treatment.

Previously, footballers were unable to take Propecia. The active ingredient finasteride was banned in the sport, as regulators were afraid it could mask steroid use. Now it has been made legal and apparently Rooney, 23, is hopeful it could help with his early-onset hair loss and is intending to combine the pills with a topical lotion he will rub into his scalp.

I noticed a bald patch visible a few weeks ago, but you know what? He still looks a million times better than he did a year ago. It was obvious he was wearing concealer when he went from bald in pre-season against Barcelona to a much looking fuller head of hair a week later in the Community Shield, whoever is doubting that must be crazy!

I feel for the man, all the scrutiny about his hair that he gets. I saw an interview from 2007 with him and Ronaldo where Ronaldo kept touching his hair and laughing, all that money is little comfort for all the hair worries I bet.

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

I'm sure he had his "people" look at it without really researching it, as it doesn't take long on here to really find who the best doctors are (if he/they even found this site at all).

Most of the agents/advisors around football players are not the sharpest tools in the box if I am honest.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

That's funny, because I did actually type "Rooney isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the draw" but then erased it. Good to see we're all on the same wavelength though ;)
