  1. Six Months update: Hair Transplant at Eugenix India Anil Saini, 32 years of age with progressive baldness (going upto NW 5), joined Eugenix Hair Sciences, Delhi/NCR as a medical counsellor. Soon he realised that without hair it is only “theoretical” to try to impart the knowledge upon the prospective patients over phone/mails and not wise from sales point of view to meet the patients in person in side the office. (Like a plump guy can not be a gym trainer, a bald guy might not appeal to patients as a representative of a hair restoration centre.) Soon he was in the operating room, for his hair restoration procedure! His affair was of one day. Meticulous planning was made to keep a customised, smart, relevant & practical hairline for ever, which would suit his face at 50-60-70 years of age, keeping in mind the ongoing progression of the baldness and retaining the donor bank for the future need. Close to 3000 grafts were placed on his bald frontal and temple area. Adequate Fronto-Temporal angle was kept aligning with the shape of the nose, chin, frontal bones and the eyebrows. Thin, slow growing and lighter hair follicles were chosen to create the “Hairline Zone” and the temple area. Upto 400 single hair grafts were placed in the hairline and 150 single hair grafts were placed on each temple. These “selected singles” were harvested meticulously from the nape of the neck and area above the ear to match the intending “baby hair” look on the front and temples. Some of the doubles were dissected into singles under the microscope of 20 X magnification by the most expert hands in the team. Anil was asked to start tablet Finasteride 1 mg daily to prevent the ongoing baldness along with minoxidil lotion. (He revealed that he is only upon Finasteride and due to cumbersomeness he is not using the lotion!) Result: The hair started growing up within first month and the first hair cut was by 3 months. (This is not un-usual at Eugenix to experience the phenomenon of very early hair growth of the planted grafts, without even going through the accepted “Telogen Effluvium” phase! This phenomenon happens at Eugenix, more often than not, due to the 1) Direct Hair Transplantation, DHT technique, wherein there is least “out of body time” for the grafts in combination with 2) “No Root Touch” concept. Due to these two “religious principles” in hair restoration, at Eugenix, we could avoid ischaemia, traumatic challenge and hence the over all “Shock” to the transplanted grafts and very often we witness an early growth, as early as by one month, without going through the universal Telogen phase of shedding of the transplanted hair. Since Anil is in-house with Eugenix, his everyday progress has been documented by high quality pictures, under the direct supervision of Dr Pradeep Sethi and Dr Arika Bansal! (To be honest, the doctor duo are very fanatic about every details of the procedure and more so in documenting it well.) So, we have got a huge library of the journey of Anil’s hair transplant upto 6 months now. The “out of the park” result of Anil has enabled him to have a fresh non bald life with renewed enthusiasm. He takes pride in the fact that “no one can make out that he has got a procedure done!”
  2. Dear Sir, thank you for leaving us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you loved your experience; our staff will definitely be happy to read what you wrote.

Number of grafts done: 3505 3. Donor quality: Good 4. Hair calibre: Good 5. Results presented after: after 12 months 6. Hairline has been created -- 7 cm from the glabella. 7. Medications being taken: finasteride'
  4. Female Hairline Introduction: Female hairline is relatively more complex than male hairline. Each female has a specific hairline in mind depending on their own perceptions of beauty. The doctors can definitely give inputs regarding what would look more natural and aesthetic. The donor availability is also an issue in the females. Since females have a very limited donor, i.e., the back scalp only, it is vital that the donor density is properly evaluated and the available grafts are used to their optimum capacity. Indications of Female Hair Transplantation: 1. Naturally high hairline: Sometimes women do not fancy their naturally high hairlines. They turn to hair transplantation for lowering their hairlines. 2. Androgenetic Alopecia: Women can experience baldness with the increase in sensitivity to dihydrotestosterone. This can happen due to a hormonal imbalance in young women and after menopause in women who are in their late middle ages. 3. Traction Alopecia: Constant pull/tension in the hair due to tying them tight can cause permanent loss of hair. 4. LPP (Lichen Plano Pilaris) and other scarring alopecias: In these conditions, the body's own immune system can eat up the hair causing hair loss. 5. Cosmetic surgeries: Surgeries like an eyebrow lift among many others can cause the hairline to get elevated. The distance of the hairline from the glabella is also different in males and females. When it is 8 to 9 cms for the males, for the females it is only 5 to 6 cms. In females, the hairline has many micro and macro irregularities. Additional elements in the female hair line: Widows peak, lateral mounds, cowlick, shape of fronto-temporal recession, size of temporal peak, width of sideburns and the distance from the tragus are determined to the last dot for precision and perfection. This is what helps to balance the different proportions. Creating Recipient sites: The slits in the midline zone (middle 1/3rd or middle 3 finger width) are directed anteriorly and the hair is also directed towards the right side from the left side. The tactile sensation during site creation can provide feedback as to whether the direction and angle is correct: As the blade enters, there should be a very smooth sensation; if the surgeon feels something gritty or crunchy, the angle is most likely incorrect. Lateral mounds are described as protrusions along the frontal hairline, on average 3.75 to 4.0 cm from the widow’s peak or center of the hairline. Lateral mounds are larger and more lateral than in men, and occur with a higher frequency. It is very important to incorporate the lateral mounds into the female hairline to impart a more feminine look. Another difference is that cowlicks were more prevalent in women with 64% of women having some type of cowlick pattern. In patients with a strong whorl, the direction of the transplanted hairs should match those of the cowlick. Many women do have a frontotemporal recession, it is less prominent than in men. If the patient previously had a concave triangle or concave oval shape, this shape can be maintained in an advanced position. These temporal recess show miniaturised hair, and so grafting with fine sentinel hair, as well as single hair grafts (with thin calibre, slow growing and less colour), should be used at the anterior portion of the recess to create a natural appearance. We usually under correct the recess while maintaining the concavity to create a more straight/slightly concave hairline of the fronto-temporal recess in such cases. Attention should be paid to hairline-temple balance in such cases as sometimes temple & temporal points need to be enhanced to balance the augmented fronto-temporal recess. The suitable donor area for the frontotemporal area (FT), temple peak (TP), and sideburns (SB) are the nape/ just behind the ear/front of ear. However, hair shaft diameter in the FT, TP, and SB were smaller than in the donor areas of the temporal, parietal, occipital, and neck regions according to our study. The “baby hair” on the hairline zone are characterised by 1) slow growing, 2) thinner in caliber and 3) lighter in colour. It is very very important that these kind of hair are strategically picked up from the donor area and planted on the hairline zone to create the natural looks in females (though it is also important in males)!
  5. Thank you for sharing your experience @musabSir. Wish you all the best for your result.
  6. @jayking Both are acceptable and delivering the incredible results. Dr Arika does the most extreme cases in Eugenix and Dr Pradeep is more into innovative work. My Surgery was driven by Dr Arika though. Cost is same for both Drs So in 210 both of them are Involved. In 120, Only Dr Arika will lead the surgery.
  7. The index patient was 33 years old. His details are: Total grafts planted: 2565 Scalp: 2565 Donor quality: Excellent Hair caliber: Excellent Donor site: Scalp Recipient side : hairline and frontal scalp Result: After 12 months
