  1. Don't fall for marketing hype and youtube testimonials. I made that mistake and ended up going to an unethical surgeon who completely botched my procedure. Eugenix has openly shared their videos and photos here so if I were you I would go to them.
  2. Would be great if you can create a thread and document your journey. That would encourage others who have had failed transplants. Hope your forehead heals well
  3. Basically what the title says, is there a huge difference in effectiveness of topicals that are liposomal vs standard alcohol based solutions?
  4. You should go under the knife "after" starting a routine and maintaining it for atleast 6 months to a year. That'll stabilise your loss and help you get the best possible outcome.
  5. Fantastic work by the Dr Mwamba. Donor looks pristine. I doubt anyone would be able to tell you had a surgery done unless they were really looking for it.
  6. Thanks for sharing. I am considering Dr Feriduni for my repair after seeing repair results of some other members here. All his work looks really clean to me. Good luck!
  7. Hello @Davy Hope you are doing well. Would love to see an update from you, especially a close of up the forehead region from where grafts were removed for repair. I am considering Dr Feriduni for repair so seeing your final results would make the decision easier for me.
  8. I don't know if I am interpreting this right, but didn't Dr Zarev say in his mega session presentation that he uses his own punch that is under patent processing?
  9. Hello @Gasthoerer Wonderful results. I am planning to undergo repair with Dr. Feriduni Since you seem to have undergone multiple procedures with him, Do you have any suggestions for me? 😊
  10. Hello @Swill How are your results coming along? Hoping to see an update from you soon 😄 I am also planning to undergo repair with Dr. Feriduni.
  11. It's certainly normal to be skeptical of a new surgeon with a novel technique or approach that produces remarkable results. I am pretty people must have been skeptical of Dr. Couto in his early days but he seems like a top surgeon now and has blown up in popularity. Looking at Dr. Zarev's videos, it seems like he's the next Dr. Couto . There's no way he's bullshitting with such detailed analysis of donor and recipient regions and such remarkable results. He has plenty of results to showcase his expertise too. That's not to say we shouldn't be skeptical. I still have some doubts but overall I feel like he's going to have a huge queue just like Dr. Couto in the next few years.
  12. I am from India so I purchase Morr F or Tugain Men. Depending on where you live you maybe able to find Morr F on ebay. Other alternatives that I've read about are Minoxidil Max and Topical Fin by Dr. Lupanzola
  13. Saw palmetto and finasteride have similar side-effects. Out of the two, finasteride has been studied more. So why not drop saw palmetto and hop on fin for a year and then go for a transplant? Even if fin doesn't do much for hair on top, it'll certainly improve donor hair characteristics
  14. Absolutely. Many people may not realize how greedy rich and famous people can be. No matter how much money they already have, they'll do anything to save a few bucks or advertise for anything that harms other people. I know plenty of terrible unethical clinics in India that are endorsed by famous celebrities just for a few lakhs (when their wealth is in crores). Also, let's not forget the 80's and 90's when celebrities endorsed cancer causing stuff such as cigarettes.
  15. I take oral dutasteride + topical finasteride (minox + fin combo). No side effects but no results either i.e. hairloss seems to have slowed down remarkably but no regrowth :( Unfortunately I might either be a non-responder or have a highly DHT sensitive scalp.
  16. Just wow! Your post gave me hope that my butchered donor can be repaired Following your progress thread. I hope your final results turn out to be awesome.
  17. Started losing hair at 18. Yes it was very aggressive because by 20, I had a huge empty spot on my crown and was in norwood 5 territory. I tried fin for like 2 years but my hairloss never quite stopped. Eventually I switched to dutasteride and it slowed down my hairloss. It may have not completely stopped it but atleast it's slowed down enough that I wouldn't be norwood 7 before my 30s (hope so!). I would suggest you to meet a dermatologist who can assess your situation and provide proper guidance. Good luck!
  18. I am not sure why people react so emotionally to criticism. I have been following this thread and I haven't seen a more level-headed person than @jimcraig152 over the entire course of the discussion. If anything, those who have had successful procedures with the said surgeon have jumped into to hijack the thread and are trying to make him look like the bad guy. It doesn't even make sense to me how others sharing their successfuly procedures invalidates @jimcraig152's concern. He's been honestly documenting his surgery experience and he spent his hard earned money on a top surgeon. I don't see why doesn't get to share his constructive critcism? Everytime patients try to document their bad experience with surgeries, I see a small bunch of people start attacking the patient and questioning their sanity. I noticed this behaviour on threads complaining abour Dr. Bhatti before he was removed from the list of recommended surgeons. There's no 100% clean track record. Every surgeon has some failed procedures. Let the patients document their experience. This isn't supposed to be fantasyland where everyone's having the best time of their lives and patients are singing praises of their surgeons all day long. Reminds me of tech forums where every once in a while a person having a serious issue with their device will report it and 15 other users who don't have the same problem will jump in and attack the OP with comments like "No such issues here", "Maybe you dropped it", "Did you install something that contained a malware?", which completely sidelines the actual concern of the OP!
  19. Hello @Ron5566, Just wanted to pitch in and let you know that I am one of those unlucky people for whom Finasteride didn't work. Others may find it difficult to believe because people like us are so rare, but we do exist. There are more like us on reddit (I have seen plenty of examples). Everyone's physiology is different and we all respond to medicines differently. Just like any other medicine, some people will do just fine, some people won't respond at all and some people will have dangerous side effects. If you want to see how lucky some people can get with finasteride you should check out @Shifty's thread. One of the best fin results I have soon. Btw, I lost hair even on finasteride. Eventually I switched to dutasteride. While I didn't regrow any hair, dutasteride seems to have massively slowed down the hairloss that even finasteride couldn't handle. Dutasteride is actually quite prevalent in countries like Japan. If you can afford to import Topical Dutasteride, you try the oral fin and topical dutasteride combo. I think Dr. Lupanzola sells topical Dut. Take it wisely and Good luck! EDIT - Also wanted to add that I have no side effects on Dutasteride. Everything is fine down there 😜
  20. Wow! That donor looks absolutely pristine and untouched. So this is what top surgeons mean when they say you can get back to work within a week or two. Most people won't be able to tell you had something done. Absolutely mind blowing. I sometimes wish I had the resources to afford a top HT surgeon 🤣
  21. I never understand it when previous HT patients from a particular surgeon blindly defend them just because they had a great procedure and a great result when they went under the knife. People's ethics change over time and even the most famous/top surgeons are fallible. Trying to defend the surgeon when the photos clearly indicate otherwise is absolutely absurd. I am not trying to attack any surgeon here (I've no reason to), but as someone who had a botched procedure by a surgeon who lied to me and misled me, I totally understand how heartbreaking it is for the patient. Hairloss is a huge insecurity for men, HTs are costly and require significant emotional as well as monetary investment. Most of us are not ultra-rich billionaires who can just throw away money on a second repair procedure. The patient approached a top surgeon expecting top results and that's what he deserves. Simple as that! Asking the patient accept substandard results is victim blaming and that is unacceptable in my books. @jimcraig152 All your frustration and complaints are understandable. As fellow balding dude who had a botched surgery I totally undestand the pain and emotional turmoil you might be feeling. Whatever be the case please don't let it affect your health (physical or emotional) and hope the best for the final results. If the need arises, only consider an ethical surgeon for repair. I wish you the best and hope you have great results.
  22. Are you taking any meds? I suspect that you were destined for higher norwood and probably lost hair because of no medication?
