  1. Hello! I am arranging consultations with the usual suspects in Belgium. I am almost positive that if I do get the procedure done, it will be FUT. Is it worth seeing Drs Bisanga and Lupanzula? They are both better known for their FUE procedures and there is very little of their FUT stuff out there. Any advice? I will do a write up of my experience with the consultations when I have them all. I have emailed both doctors as well as Dr Devroye for March and my consultation with Dr Feriduni is in August. Thanks
  2. Has anybody done it or knows of somebody who has done it with him? How was the result? Can you recommend someone/somewhere better? Thanks Trix
  3. I have seen the photos on his website. The problem with those photos, and the ones he uploads on this website, is that there is the risk these are just cherry picked cases and are not indicative of the average outcome/result of his work (or any other surgeon for that matter). The problem is, as I highlighted earlier, there are very few patients that upload work done by him. I don't want to be dependent on medication for the rest of my life. What happens if there are unknown long-term consequences? 50+ years is a long time to take medication. What happens if they stop producing it? Or if it stops being as effective so I need to take something else then? If the surgeons think I can get a good result (I do not need to have my 18 year old hairline for me to consider the procedure a success) without having to take medication, I will go ahead with it. If not, I will cut it all off.
  4. Thanks for the reply! I am between him and Dr Feriduni, I think. I will go over to Belgium later this year to have consultations with them both and some of the other usual suspects in Belgium (as you say, there are a number of good surgeons there). I want FUT (I think) but there are not many cases online for Dr Devroye (that patients have posted). My problem is that I do not want to take medication so if they say they can't do the surgery without me taking medication, I will just shave my head I think.
  5. Thanks for this. I am looking at Dr. Devroye myself and there is not much about him. How is your transplant looking now? How did he determine how good your donor area is?
  6. Hello! I am looking at booking some consultations with the usual suspects in Belgium for an FUT (probably) surgery. Can anybody give any opinions about Dr Devroye, especially with regards to his hairlines, scar work, his approach (conservative, aggressive etc.) as well as his results in general? I see he posts his own cases quite regularly but there aren't many from the patients themselves. This of course doesn't mean he is not a good surgeon, it may well be the case that his patients are happy with the result and then just continue with their lives after the procedure. Any opinions would be welcome!
  7. Hi! Post-transplant, after a few months when it looks bad, why don't people just shave it down to the lowest number they can get away with without showing the scar (in the case of FUT)? That would be a number 3 or 4 I imagine. Surely this would help hide the crappy looking weak hairs growing through at the front. Thanks
  8. Also interested to know the breakdown and if you're on medication!! The result is great and I think your hairline looks amazing. Great work.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Where can I see these posts?
  10. Are all the hairs that are left the stragglers or are some from before the procedure?
  11. I think that's unfair. Dr. Bloxham answers a lot of questions and enters into a lot of debates that aren't just in the self-interest of his clinic. I think it depends on the personal relationalship he has with other people on the forum. Some will call him Blake and some, like me, will be Dr. Bloxham
  12. Interesting. Thanks. I actually don't mind waiting if I am waiting for quality but just a consultation is going to be an 11 month wait and I don't want to have surgery without a consultation. I really like his hairlines and everybody, from patients to other doctors, recommends him so I think I should have a consultation before diving into this. Funnily enough, if I wanted surgery without a consultation, I could have that in March. Bisanga is on my shortlist and I will be visiting him and a few of the other Belgium based doctors in October/November. Big decision, don't want to rush into it.
  13. No. If I want the surgery I can be in by March 2018. August for the consultation though. The annoying thing is, they told me I could have a consultation in Nov about 3 months ago but I was between contracts so didn't book and now it isn't available. Now it is an 11 month wait. FML. I wouldn't mind but the guy who deals woth you by email takes so long to reply. Either he is terrible at his job or vastly overworked. I might ring tomorrow.
  14. Hi! Great result. I really want a consultation with Feriduni but he doesn't have anything until August 2018 (!!!!) How did you find dealing with his team pre-surgery? I am finding them really slow.
  15. Great answers, thank you very much. I am going to finally get around to booking consultations in the next month or two with my short list. The one doctor I really want to see doesn't have availability for consultations until August 2018 and his PR man takes ages (weeks!) to reply to emails. So frustrating. Are you more or less likely to have a more visible scar if you're pale?
  16. I have some questions regarding FUT. Any help would be much appreciated. 1) When somebody does a second FUT operation, does this mean you will have two scars i.e. one below the other? 2) Does the fact you have a second procedure mean that the second scar is more, less or just as likely to be "bigger" i.e. stretch than the first time because of the change in scalp laxity? 3) Speaking of laxity - can you get more grafts from each procedure the longer you leave between each one as the scalp heals or does it not matter? 4) Can you do 3rd or even 4th FUT operations or is the sweet spot maxed out at two? If it depends on the person, what are the factors? 5) How many FUE grafts does it take to cover a scar and how short can you then cut the hair? 6) Not technically about FUT but I have been told by Feriduni that the recession stabilises at around the age of 35 (on average). Can anybody give any opinions or, better yet, evidence to support or challenge that claim? I am 32 now and if I have my first one done late next year, I will be 33 and a half. Thanks in advance.
  17. Why don't you try dying your hair and see if that makes it less obvious? The skin will still be red but it may make it less obvious on the hair itself.
  18. Why would you need a transplant for the top? Just leave it as is and enjoy life. Your hair looks great. Reassess in your 30s.
  19. Hi! Can anybody recommend me a doctor who does PRP in Europe with the Angel system? This is either somebody you have used and had a good result with or have heard about good results coming out of this clinic. Any advice would be much appreciated
