  1. Hello. I had to look this up as it is constantly mentioned here. Platelet-rich plasma. What is it (aside from the obvious) and how is of use in hairloss?
  2. I am actually glad to hear that as it is you I need to speak to. Is it OK if I PM later you today when I have more time? Thanks.
  3. Ideally, neither do I. Both procedures leave scars though. I will leave it to the surgeon to give me their opinion and then make a decision. You can hide linear scars with even a number 2 which is still pretty short. I am more concerned with the result up top than the scar(s) though so I will see what the experts say. I am in my early 30s and a NW3v so I may even wait another couple of years. Dr Feriduni recommended to me that I wait 3 more years for the crown and if I can, another year or so for the frontal third but that he may reconsider that upon an in-person consultation. Dr De Reys also told me to wait if I could. Dr Maras the same. Dr Keser said I could go now but that he wouldn't touch the crown, but he only does FUE. I have 2 live consultations in June so far with two other doctors, they may suggest the same thing.
  4. This all actually makes very good sense - thank you again for the reply. I was recommended the doctor by a couple of people on here and his results are good. He is recommended on this site too. He does appear to be FUE orientated though and I think, conclusions of my consults pending, I am leaning towards FUT now. Thanks for the advice re. the questions too. I am starting to compile a list of them to ask.
  5. Did you ring a little bell when you said that? I had to read part of it twice but yes, it was great. Thanks. I suppose the obvious question is, is there a way to test for glide and hardness/looseness of skin? I imagine the latter is much easier to check and I think I fall into the hard skin category - it barely moves at all and I can barely pinch the skin at the back of my head.
  6. Dr. Feller - You said in a video that all top surgeons will use FUT examples on their websites as they give the best results but Dr. Lupanzula has almost entirely FUE megasession examples, and they're videos too not jsut photos, on his website. The results look very good too. Do you have an opinion about this?
  7. Hello! Dr. Feller has released a good video on Youtube called "For Hair transplant Doctors ONLY" (I watched it anyway as I am a rebel ) and in it he mentions that a tight scalp is BETTER for having a thin scar after FUT. I was shocked and thought I'd misheard. I would have thought a tight one was more likely to pull the two sides apart and stretch the scar. Can anybody who knows more than me about the subject (won't be that hard) explain to me how this is the case as Dr. Feller did not explain why and I can't find an answer on Google.
  8. He definitely does - he even mentions it on his site. In fact, I found 2 videos eventually on his website with them on but the overwhelming majority are FUE. I have a meeting in a few weeks with him (and others) which is why I doing as much research as I can about the FUT side of things as I had previously decided on FUE but am now open to either.
  9. Hello. Does Dr. Lupanzula 1) have a good reputation in general 2) have a good reputation regarding hairlines specifically and 3) have good results with FUT? On his website, there are only FUE cases shown as far as I can tell despite him offering both procedures. Thanks
  10. Great. Let us know what they get back to you with. I am looking forward to it. Which doctors will you be emailing by the way?
  11. People pay him for his surgical skills, not how he debates. I like his frankness. It has made me consider FUT over FUE (still haven't made my mind up though hence why I am hoping the debate goes ahead).
  12. Will you post their answers here? Will you suggest a Youtube debate to them if they do prefer FUE over FUT?
  13. This is good - I like full disclosure. Everybody knows where they stand then. But some doctors don't have their prices on their websites and I am wondering if I contact their reps if the price will jump up or not.
  14. There are people on this site who represent doctors. I was wondering if I asked them questions about the doctors I am thinking of visiting, if their involvement in my case would then push the price up (I assume they're salaried or on commission)? How does it work?
  15. Others will have a more informed opinion but if your hair does go completely, this would actually make surgery an option because you'd have a blank slate to work with. The medication is not working so just stop taking it. See a couple of doctors and see what they think.
  16. I would be up for it (if they are) and I am going to the same doctors in early- to mid-June
  17. I thought Dr. Devorye was based in France? I know Dr. Feriduni is German. I am trying to get an appointment to see him in June when I am back in Europe but so far he is fully booked up! I am also between FUE and FUT after this thread. I will let the doctor decide for me. I am not sure if my scalp laxity is good or not as it feels quite tight to me but the doctor will know for sure. I have a "tuft" which is the perfect height above my eyebrows apparently but Dr. Feriduni also told me I should leave it for another year or two for the frontal third and until I am 35 (3 years) for the crown. This is why I want to see him in person (along with other doctors from my short list).
  18. Which 2 did you see? I am guessing the two Belgians? Which are you going back to and why?
  19. Thanks for all the advice. I am going to visit some surgeons in June so I will see what they say and get back to you all with reviews.
  20. Thanks for the reply. I have only really just started looking into FUT really as I was so set on FUE so all this is new to me. What you say may well be the case but I have also seen some pretty noticeable scars from FUT too so I am not sure how much more effective it is as a procedure than a "normal" closure.
  21. Hi! I was all for FUE and now I am debating FUT. I am concerned about the scar afterwards though. I have read on the websites of a few doctors now that this is the new procedure and reduces scar visibility a lot. My questions are: can any doctors here confirm if this procedure works any better at scar reduction than normal AND if any patients have had it done and have pictures to show the results? Thanks
  22. De Feller. I DO actually have a question and I am the OP You have made me consider FUT (here and also your Youtube videos with Dr BB). I will do the procedure in Europe though for logistical reasons. Who in your professional opinion are the top FUT surgeons in Europe? I already had Dr Feriduni on my list for consultations next month for FUE but I will be speaking to him about FUT too now. Who else?
  23. Thanks for the reply and answering my questions. Feriduni is actually on my shortlist for FUE so I am glad he also has a good reputation for FUT. What is Bisanga's reputation like for hairlines?
  24. Great reply Dr. Bloxham. Thanks for that. And it does answer my question - 12 months was the answer (that I extrapolated anyway). Thanks again for your time
  25. Hi! Who are the best FUT surgeons in Europe (I would debate going Turkey if the surgeon is exceptional with many consistent reviews online)? I have a short list for FUE surgeons who I will visit in June. These are: 1) Feriduni 2) de Reys 3) Keser 4) Maras 5) Lupanzula Of these 5, who has a good reputation for FUT too? Who else would you put on the FUT list to vist? I will be getting my frontal 3rd done if that affects people's recommendations at all.
