  1. Hello futbol9, I have not seen much of Meskin's work on here but I did have 2 HT with Dr. Alexander & couldn't be happier. You are lucky to have no signs of hair loss in the crown. 2,300 grafts to fill in the front third & give you a nice hairline should work ot very nicely. Dr. Alexander creates some of the most natuarl hairline's in the world. I'm sure it is hard choice but both Doctor's are recommended coalition surgeon's & you will be in good hands with both Doctor's. Feel free to ask questions & good luck! Atomic
  2. At 4 months post op I still continue to shield my scalp with my hand to diffuse the water. Although the grafts are secure by now, I wouldn't risk high pressure @ day 8 post op.
  3. SKJ, yes theu do remove a large chunk of scalp. Immediaste post op the area is sutured together & you will feel a tightness in your scalp. You really can't see it especially if you wear your hair longer. After my 1st HT within a few months my scar was a faint white line. Very hard to see or find. So unless you are going shave your head or cut it very short, the scar should not be a concern.
  4. You cannot predict your outcome so I say don't do it unitil you are at least 10 years older.
  5. Dr Alexander, It looks like you made good use of the limited grafts! Nice transformation for this fellow.
  6. Kumar, I hope this helps. How much time does hair follies takes to grow after the surgery? Between 4 & 6 months the follicles will begin sprouting Is surgery painful? Not bad at all, the shots are a little pinch but thats it. Is there any side effects after few years of the surgery? I have none @ 4 years post op Ht #1 & 3.5 months Ht #2 How much it cost? Figure on $4.00 per graft, if u get 2000k grafts your talking 8K. Dr. Alexander offers 12, 18 & 24 month pavyment options with no interest. I took the 24 month option, pretty painless when you can pay like that! Ask away if you have more questions or concerns, thats why we are here! Good luck, Atomic
  7. trooper, I know what you mean. I too where my hat to work & always have. Even though I had a successful HT for a NW6/7. Without my hat, I still like to be in control of how my hair/scap appears in certain lighting. By that I mean no direct overhead lights or sunlight. Office flourecent lighting can be brutle. To not have the hat option can be a scary thought. It's just the first intial shock responses that might be difficult. Especially if u work with wise guys! After that I'm sure you will be relieved to go without the hat after 7 years. Thats why you went through all of this anyway right? Anyway, your hair looks good especially from the front & if asked why you wore a hat all this time just say you didn't like messing with it in the morning! Good luck, Atomic
  8. donald, I am 3.5 months post op on my 2nd procedure. Although the Doc's might say it's ok, I am erring on the side of caution. I'm not sure chlorine is a good idea & I don't think sweating in a sauna at 2 months is good either. But that's just me. I dion't want to do anything that might compromise my precious grafts or growth! Thats my opinion. Good luck, Atomic
  9. Why even argue about this @ 6months? We all know that this is not final results right? Personally I think Amnn will end up being happy in the end. The work looks amazing, he has good charectersitics & a top surgeon in the industry= Success! Seriously Aman, wait it out instead of being very sad. You have a lot to look foward to!
  10. It does appear that H&W do take strips higher up into the danger zone. How this is going to affect patients is yet to be seen.
  11. Once again pics that I can't make any sense out of. Before/After? I don't know how anyone can comment good or bad on these pics.
  12. No disrespect but I can't see how anyone can judge these results at all based on these pics! They are blurry, close up, different angles etc.. I don't think the results are what they seem.
  13. Congratulations your not bald anymore! Work on the photos though, A bit blurry.
  14. No-one likes to post bad results & rarely do from a coaltion Dr. But it doe's happen & when it doe's happen people like to start placing blame & finding fault. It seems posters who post bad results comes under attack. Maybe thats why bad results from coaltion dr's are rarely posted. In my opinion H&W are not capable of doing inferior work. After performing this surgery countless times what would Dr. Hasson & staff do wrong to compromise this one? So unfortunately it comes down to Our Individual Characteristics. And when I look at the pictures it is clear that more than just the front third of the scalp is transplanted with the 2700 grafts. Maybe the area covered should have been smaller. Expectaions are sometimes too high, partly because of the number of positive results & reviews posted here & partly because we want to believe we will get back our orginal density. Which can never happen. I think almost all of us who have had HT's that had real hairloss (not just fill in the temples) could have complained that we didn't get what we wanted or hoped for. But most of us are realistic when it comes down to it. IMHO I believe if this is to be considered a failure, it comes down to the previous surgery & the characteristics of Notsohappy. Dr. Hasson has shown he has no reason to hide from this & I'm sure if at fault would have no problem trying to resolve it.
  15. Hello Beckham, Who was the Dr.? That is important. First let me say that when your Dr. tells you that if you loose hair in the crown you will only need to get one more HT & that will take care of it. Well it's not that simple! HT's are not a cure for balding & it is not possible to determine where your hairloss will go in the future. Personally, I think you should not get a HT at this point. You pointed out that your friends hair looks worse than pre Ht. In many cases this is true. Especially in someone like you that has a lot to loose. You have good hair & you have the ability to have a good style for many more years without a HT. One day you will look at these pics & think man I had a ton of beautiful hair, though it may not seem like it now. Trust me I am 53 yr's old now & even though I began loosing hair in my twenties, It was still manageable for many years before I had my first HT at 49. At that point I had nothing to loose...u do. I repeat Hair transplants are not a cure for MPB. Good luck & stay away from the scalpel for now. Atomic
  16. 2k grafts is 2K grafts no matter what Doctor.
  17. Men Report Sexual Impairment After Using Common Hair Loss Drug 222113438 By Catherine Donaldson-Evans Mar 18th 2011 4:00PM Categories: News Men who have taken a popular pill for baldness say they've experienced persistent sexual dysfunction for months, or even years, after stopping the drug. The new study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, found that men who take finasteride, sold under the brand names Propecia and Proscar, may develop an ongoing loss of libido and orgasm, even after they go off the medication. In some cases, they could have other lasting sexual side effects, including premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction, according to lead researcher Dr. Michael Irwig of George Washington University's medical school. "It's obviously having some effect on the brain," Irwig told AOL Health. "It's messing up different hormonal pathways. Some of these pathways are important for things like libido and sexual function." Finasteride, the most common hair-loss pill, has previously been linked to "reversible" sexual impairment, as noted on the drug's label, said Irwig. But "this is the first series to find that symptoms persisted for at least three months despite stopping finasteride," he added. "Three months was the minimum, but some of these guys had sexual symptoms for years, some ... for five to 10 years after," he told AOL Health. "These were young guys with no medical problems, no psychiatric problems, who happened to develop these side effects." Irwig and his team interviewed 71 men aged 21 to 46 who had taken Propecia or Proscar and reported new sexual side effects after they started the drugs. None of the participants had a history of sexual dysfunction or other conditions that might have contributed, Irwig said -- and some had only been on finasteride for a few days.
  18. Joe, How long after his HT did he begin using concealers? Have you determined how long after a HT it is safe to use concealers like dermatch? Thanks
  19. Hello NY, I am 1 month post op my 2nd HT. Baby shampoo is good to use for at least the first two weeks. You can begin gently shampooing at day three. Take a cup & pour some shampoo in it then add some water, mix it a little & gently pour it over your scalp. You should gently use your fingers to clean along the the donor area. It is important to keep it very clean. You don't want to dislodge the grafts so basically just let the shampoo run over the recipient area & clean off any dried blood. Use the cup method for at least 10 days to 2 weeks. By then the grafts will be secure & you can begin gently rinsing with the shower head. Also, I used polysporin ointment on my recipient area to prevent scabbing. It is graesy in your hair but apply it prior to swowering & if you can after showering. It worked well for me in preventing scabbing & promoting healing. Good luck & Grow well!
  20. Scalp exercises can't hurt prior to surgery. It makes the Doc's job easier & hopefully will yield more grafts.
  21. In the case of FUT the Doc can usually determine if there is aenough laxity in the scalp to perform another surgery rather than how many grafts are actually left. So if someone has had 3 FUT's then the scalp may be to tight at that point to perform another surgery. With FUE I'm sure it is a different case. Since laxity is not the problem then exhausting the donor supply would be. There has to be enough hair left to cover any scalp/scarring. Just my non pro opinon though.
  22. I am 11 days post op #2 FUT. The donor is still tender/itchy, Aloe definetly helps that. I have been washing my donor since day 2 to keep it clean. I strated appllying polysporin ointment & washing the recipient area at day 2 to prevent scabbing. I still have all the donor hair stubs at this point but expect they will be gone in a couple of weeks. Don't be to shy about keeping both the donor & recipient area clean. Good luck guys!
