  1. You’re avoiding the possibility of accelerated loss due to the HT
  2. I had bad side affects to both Minoxidil & Propecia
  3. My hair loss in the crown & back of my head really accelerated after my two HT. I mean it was aggressive. I wonder if this was due to the disruption of blood loss to the scalp after severing blood vessels in the scalp. I have no way of knowing if the acceleration of hair loss was natural or from affects of the surgeries. Did this happen to anyone else after HT surgery?
  4. Where are your before & after pics Bobman?
  5. Well here is my story. I started losing my hair in my late 20's. It really accelerated in my 30's to a NW 4-5. My hairline was gone by the time I was 40 but my crown only had a silver dollar size hole. I had my first transplant at 50 years old in 2007. Nearly 3,000 grafts to the front/hairline. It was still too thin for sunlight exposure. So I went for my second HT in 2011. Most of the nearly 2,000 grafts went to the crown that had now opened up to about 3" in circumference. It didn't do a whole lot for my crown but it was nice to have something growing there. But after that my crown loss rapidly crept to the sides & back. I think the trauma from transplants exasperated my hair loss in back. As for drugs I wasn't a good candidate considering my age & degree of hair loss. Although I tried Propecia briefly & experienced bad side effects so I gave it back to the Dr. Now my hair loss is out of control as I watch it desert my head in back at a rapid pace. I have lost all hope at this point of being able to stop it. I live under hats most of the time. It wasn't until I started loosing the back that I became despondent over my hair loss. The front I could handle but the back is embarrassing & demoralizing. At this point Ill wear a hat & if I have a show (Musician) Ill wear a wig. I wouldn't be comfortable wearing a wig in everyday life. My Dr. did a fine job but as I have learned there is no way a Dr. can give you back your hair if you are a NW5+. It is a losing proposition. Im not the type that gets depressed & I will soldier on. I just think that I'm lucky to have all of my limbs etc because there are certainly a lot worse things in life than losing one's hair although it does suck. No happy ending, just end of story.

    Good luck on your journey.

  6. Joey IMHO Good yield, Distribution of the grafts should have been concentrated on the frontal 1/3 with a second procedure to finish the top/crown. So now you just go from where you are now with diffused thinning. Good luck Joey.
  7. Kumar, Congrats on your HT with Dr. Alexander! I want to assure you that the swelling & mild pain you are experiencing is quite normal for 2 weeks & even a month post op. It will begin to subside before you know it. Dr, Alexander is an excellent surgeon, so you have no need to worry. The one thing that you can do to speed healing & avoind complications is to keep the donor area very claen. Don't be afraid to gently use your fingers with shampoo along the suture line to scrub it clean. I did mine twice daily. So hang in there, be patient, keep it clean, avoid heavy lifting & you will be on your way! Good luck & keep us posted. Atomic
  8. Futureguy, If you are a candidate for a HT my personal recommendation is Dr. Scott Alexander in Phoenix. He produces the most natural appearing Hairlines with minimal scar time after time. Good luck! Atomic
