  1. NW4, Sorry to burst your bubble but these are average results. So bring your expectations back down. "Where'd it go" Pretty much hit the nail on the head. The Doctors do not post all of thier results, only thier very best. So if all of the Doctors on here posted all of thier results using 2,500 grafts, this would be an average result. Unfortuately, by posting only thier best results the doctors themselves have raised expectations, only not to be able to live up to those expectations. Of course you are going to say well H&W hit a home run every time! Well that just not true. Also when trans planting 5,000 grafts as opposed to 2,500, obviously the yield will be better even if the same % of grafts don't grow.
  2. Ok LMS, Obviously you are frustrated, And you have made that quite clear. It just seems to me that there is a lot of bashing going on & you are sort of putting words in other peoples mouths. ie:1.they get money back(highly unlikely and they are STILL left with an unnatural look) Who said it looked un-natural? I am not an advocate for the Dr. but for future newbies to come. I am for a balanced truth about real results. Since when have HT's progressed to being a done deal in one pass? Especially with a completely bald scalp in the front 1/3. The point is I have seen countless cases as this one, in fact a majority of the cases are just like this one. You don't' want to have guys believe that you can be a NW 4+ & you will have complete coverage/density in one pass do you. Because you know that is not the case. I see this case as an average result & thats why I am chiming in. I just don't want to see expectations for newbies that are beyond the normal reasults. Not Superstar results as achieved in a small amount of cases but the average Joe results.
  3. There seems to be some unhappy HT patients weighing in on this thread & taking thier frustration out on this case. I really don't see this as a bad resut at all!The guy looks 100% better IMO.
  4. rays, If you are not yet on meds such as finesteride & minoxidil you should look into it straight away. You have a chance to save the hair you have in the crown & on top with meds. Also the meds may help stabilze your hairloss prior to surgery. I think you are a candidate for hairline restoration. Dr. Madhu is in India & has been getting some good reviews on this forum. Although he is not yet a recommended coaltion Dr. he is being considered.
  5. DD, You can find more information on H&W & many other surgeons by going to the top of this page & click on Hair Transplant Network. Then Click on Consult a physician, then click on Canada in the map & you will find H&W. Good luck & don't let your hairloss get you down. We think people are staring at our hairloss but thats not true for the most part. It's just that we are so concous of it that we think everyone eles is...ther not.
  6. I think the illusion is there, Abe just took some very harsh & revealing pics. Yes the gaps are there but he has come along way & with concealers this can look pretty darn good. Its tough with coarse hair like that but it is what it is. From the front it looks fantastic.
  7. I would think if you loose weight your skin would be more lax. I'm just saying...
  8. I half to say that results will also come into play when having a HT in such a transparent fashion. Lets say the results are great like you are hoping for. Then everyone will jump onboard & just be estatic about it. But if your HT is not quite as successful as you had hoped, or if it is ultimately a failure, then family & friends may be scrutinizing your procedure. You have been brave about letting your family in on your HT because you were sure that you wanted a HT. And you were probably pretty sure that the outcome will be successful. That may well be but now with this dark cloud of doubt hanging over as the procedure approaches & during the Holidays with family & all of the hoopla you may want to consider that this may not be the best timing for a procedure. Hey you can always reschedule right? Of course. I think that having a procedure now would be very stressfull. Just picture yourself at the holiday table as you are now, feeling very comfortable & enjoying the Holiday with your family......and dreaming of one day when you will secretly finally have a HT. Have a great Holiday! Atomic
  9. Thana just put the dictionary away so I don't half to keep looking up words ok? Oh, I'd like the brown dermatch please, thank you!
  10. Julius, I must admit that is pretty amazing results! If you are going to get a HT I really hope that you get results like that. That result is something we all hope for & dream about. So yes it looks like you got me on that one. Like you I would like to see some members come forward & show us that thier HT stands up to the harsh light test.
  11. I agree we should give Dr. Madhu the benefit of the doubt here. Because the results are almost "To good to be true" we shouldn't being calling foul. Like I did in an earlier post. The hair characteristics that he is dealing with lends itself to better results than we are used to seeing. Nice work Dr. Madhu!
  12. Hey there Giggsy, I wouldn't start counting hairs. Since all of us loose 100's of hairs on a daily basis. The question is are those hairs regenerating less & less which can siganl MPB. I will be 52 in Dec. I remember being in my early 20's when I first statred noticing my MPB. It wa at work in a bathroom mirror that I discovered I could see my scalp more & more throough my hair. Especially at certain angles. It took years for my hair to become thin enough to warrant a HT. So most guys on here will tell you to get on meds at this point. ie: Propecia, Minoxidil. You can see a recommended HT doctor from this site that is close to your location & get a free consult. If he determines that you have MPB you can get him to write you a script for propecia. You can buy Rogaine anywhere without a script. Beware of side effects as they seem to affect some of us but not all. And since your here start researching about the meds so you know what to expect. Good luck pal!
  13. Julius my friend, I certainly don't want to burst your bubble, but you can't ignore what the posters above have also said. Like Bill & thana. I doubt that even NicNitro who is a "showcase" for H&W, has non see-thru hair from the top down in harsh or sunlight. If you look at his pics they are not in harsh light & the pics are not from the top downn. Even H&W take pics that are going to show thier patients in a "Good Light" so to speak. I would also like to hear from others who claim to have a no see-thru HT. Assuming they are starting out with a bald scalp. If your expectations are to high you are only setting yourself up for a let down. What is your situation Julius? HT soon? Pics?
  14. Crosby, As with strip, fue can also result in shockloss in both the donor & recipient area's. The trauma from fue comes from the blunt force of extracting fu's. As you know a punch is used & a tourqe action is applied to extract the fu's, possibly damaging adjacent follicles. Shockloss may occur leaving you with a bald or thin spot in the donor area. Shockloss may or may not be permanent. Given your short hairstyle & lack of density it would be hard to conceal. With a strip procedure the strip is pulled back together thus reulting in less scalp. With fue the fu's are plucked out leaving the donor area thinner. With the possibility of scarring that again, you would have a difficult time concealing. You half to look at your donor area & consider if you could spare 1200 to 1500 Fu's & the possibility of scarring & or shockloss. That is why I say you may be better off to leave well enough alone.
  15. No one debating that fact yet.
  16. Crosby, I think your hair looks fine right now & a traumatic FUE procedure may only hasten the thinning of your existing hair. I think the lighting in combination with your short dark hair, light scalp, thick hair shaft & low density provide an undesireable contrast. Similar to that of Asian characteristics. You should take that into consideration since you are already looking into FUE. Think about it. If you have several thousand FU's extracted from your already thin appearing donor area, given your short hair style & characteristics you may have a worse problem then you started with! I would think very hard before going down that path. As for propecia & other hairloss drugs, you must be prepared to make a life long commitment to taking these drugs or until something better comes along. You can quit after you start but you will loose any benefit that you may have gained. I just believe that you are not a candidate for a procedure at this point & probably not for at least 5 more years. As for the propecia etc..thats something you should research & consider.
  17. Julius, I believe it depends on what degree of MPB a person will eventually become. Actually from my observations I believe that hairloss doe's accelerate with age in men who will eventually become a NW 6+. In a NW 3, 4 or even 5 obviously the hairloss will taper off & stabilize at some point.
  18. This is a good example of the "illusion". From the front it appears dense but anyone who has watched Jon Goselin on his reality show have seen how see thru his HT is from the top view.
  19. The whole illusion of density thing is that from the front your hair will appear dense while on inspection from the top or in overhead lighting it will be see thru.
  20. Lastchance, I was on propecia for a short time not long enough to see any benefits but long enough to develop sides. For me it isn't worth taking propecia daily fort he rest of my life. and that would be the commitment I would half to make with the possibility of no benefits for a NW6+.
