  1. I'm sorry but this is the one of the funniest statements I have seen in a long time. I'm in total hysterics. This forum keeps on surprising me, from the bloke who was freaking out last weekend because he didn't realize that he could call his HT surgeon 24/7 with his "medical" emergency to this guy. Eddie, Good luck to you my man! It's about 3 months too early to expect any growth.
  2. Well said Dr! I'm also curious as to your thoughts on that same surgeon not taking exception to this guy getting SMP into his scar mere days after the surgery? I'm not close to being a rocket scientist, but common sense is telling me that was a terrible idea?
  3. "What you really see are posts by enthusiastic patients right after FUE surgery but no actual results posted- even years later. What happened to these FUE patients? While the same thing does happen with FUT from time to time, FUT already enjoys thousands of online before/after photos, whereas FUE hasn't even made it to a hundred yet...and that's after 14 years! " Fair point, but I gotta say that some awesome FUE results from Erdogan have been posted recently
  4. Thank you Dr. - once again a lot of good info. I'm a supporter of FUT myself, but to be quite honest, this is starting to get old quickly. You have been very vocal on this forum on the topic, and kudos to you for taking the time to express your point of view. I definitely respect your passion on the topic. Quick question if you don't mind - who performed your strip procedure? Was it Dr Hasson? In a much older post, I thought someone had mentioned you were spotted at h&w to get your own HT.
  5. A) Because most of the top European surgeons specialize in FUE and offer it exclusively. B) because they consistently perform dense packed mega-session FUE procedures on par and most times consistently better than those of the top U.S. surgeons. C) FUE prices in Erope are substantially cheaper than the US. Erdogan (my top pick) charges less than 3 euros a graft, whilst the US surgeons charge $8 and more a graft. That's a huge difference and demonstrates that the U.S. FUE surgeons are comlpletely ripping off FUE patients. I believe Konior is better known for FUT. In fact the top US surgeons - Shapiro, Konior, Rahal, and Hasson are all FUT specialists. I would stay away from them if choosing FUE. I highly recommend reconsidering Europe or going with FUT if you want to stay in the US.
  6. Yeah, 300 won't make a difference. Have you considered traveling to Turkey for the procedure? It's a lot cheaper there with quality FUE results. I realize the flight there may be out of your budget as well. Sorry mate, it sucks.
  7. Feriduni in Belgium or Lorenzo in Spain. If you are up for it, Erdogan in Turkey is top class. Those are the 3 best in my opinion.
  8. Looking promising buddy. At the 2.5 month mark I started noticing similar growth, but once I hit 3 months, there was an explosion. It hits you fast and furious - just take a seat back and enjoy the ride for the next couple of months. It will blow you away how quickly things develop
  9. 100% agree with you. This guy posts a perfectly valid question on this board asking for advice regarding a comparision between Rahal and the Turkey surgeons, yet it appears he has already decided to go with FUT and Rahal, so proceeds to argue against and shoot down any advice or opinions against Rahal or FUT, in a condescending and provocative manner. Furthermore, as he is dead set on FUT, the question regarding Turkish surgeons becomes mute as the top ones don't even offer FUT - clearly demonstrating a lack of homework. Finally, if you follow this guy's trail, he seems to have always been keen on only Rahal, and I would bet you never even consultated with any other surgeon. He also keeps asking about the dense packing of 50cm as that's the max Rahal is prepared to do for him, yet Keeps going on about the fact that Rahal will produce the most dense results. I know for a fact other surgeons like Erdogan and Hasson have dense packed at greater than 60 where appropriate. Did he even bother to consult with other surgeons to see if they would go higher than Rahal's 50, as that seems to be the most important factor for him. So going back to your point, even after 5+ years of talking on this forum about "going with Rahal soon" this guy is clearly not ready and needs to do some more homework - at the least do virtual consultations with other surgeons.
  10. Buddy, it's not all doom and gloom for former FUT patients wanting to shave down. People are quick to forget that one could get FUEs into the scar or SMP.
  11. Hi Blake, your argument above is very flawed. I believe your clinic quotes around 9 or $10 a graft for FUE as stated on your website. Therefore I hate to say it, but the patients that really want FUE are not bothering to consult with your clinic, and why would they when they can pay less than 3 Euros per graft for high quality results in Europe and Turkey. I guess that shows people aren't really as stupid as some might think. Therefore it doesn't surprise me that the majority of patients showing up on your doorstep are considering FUT. Have you and Dr. feller tried to quantify the opportunity cost of those lost patients you may derive business from if you lowered the FUE fees?
  12. "What are you talking about?? The other guy is saying I’m arguing when I’m not.. duhhh! Woaaa - easy there Tiger, no need to be condescending - I'm a big fan of you buddy, you are da man. Why did you go back and edit your statement and delete the "You're weird" comment? I actually agree with it. I mean I am sitting here in my tightie whity underpants posting on a hair loss forum website and right clicking the heads of pretty woman on Match.com and okcupid.com - I would say that qualifies me as weird! "You're not understanding something here. Patients ON AVERAGE get FUE because they don’t want the scar. (Note the caps)" I agree with you now, although that's not what you said earlier, there is a big difference between ON AVERAGE and ALL. But hey, it's all symmantics right - don't worry I'm still your biggest fan. "You sound so angry like you got it in for Rahal. So I’m a fool according to you. Well, I’d rather be a young fool with dense hair attracting girls than an old man with a failed HT who's too old to get girls and cries online all day about FUT. " Um, go back an reread my comment. I was talking specifically about FUE procedures. Let me break-it down for you though - I think it's crazy for patients to be paying a fortune for FUE procedures in the US at in excess of $8 per graft when you get better quality results for less than 3 euros a graft in Turkey and Europe. I believe you said you were going with FUT, so guess what, I don't think you are a fool, and even better, I am still your biggest fan. Also for the record, as I have posted elsewhere on this forum, I rate Rahal's FUT in my top 4 alongside Hasson, Shapiro, and Konior. I am just not convinced yet with his FUE results. See big boy, I don't really have it in for Rahal after all. Anyway, looks like you have made up your mind to get FUT with Rahal. I think that's a solid decision, so good luck and let us know how it goes. You are in good hands with Rahal my man.
  13. This is an outstanding thread, and deserves a bump. So great to see two of the best surgeons complimenting each other
  14. hope that he has more than enough donor hair left to cover any future hair loss. I guess some guys really do have luck on their side. I need to go in the other direction and save my precious beard, chest hair, and possibly my pubes from downstairs for future procedures
  15. "What the hell are you talking about??! Nobody is arguing." Be nice! "First of all, calm down, its not that serious. Second, how do you know FUT doesn’t produce better results?" He doesn't! "And third, the docs who do FUE do so to satisfy clients who don’t want a scar, not necessarily because they think it’s a better density harvest than FUT." Beep, wrong - although the FUE docs do perform FUE due the law of supply and demand, they also perform FUE as an alternative to FUT when strip patients have been stripped out, or have horrid laxity, or require scar repairs via FUE transplants into the scar. You also gotta believe that some docs like Erdogan believe in FUE and stand behind the results. Dr Maras recommended I go with FUE rather than FUT because he believes he can get a better density result as he can cherry pick the number of 2s and 3s (which you can't do in FUT) - so I think in the right hands, FUE could probably match FUT - although I myself would still hedge my bets on FUT to achieve better density. "If FUT produced less density than FUE then why don’t FUT docs get on the FUE bandwagon?" Almost all FUT docs have jumped onto the FUE bandwagon, including Dr. Hasson & Wong now, but to your point that's probably more to keep up with the times (supply & demand) than because of the density issue. "But I admit I did talk to a Rahal rep. I asked him which was better. He said both produce equal results with FUE costing more than FUT. This is somewhat strange but will follow up with him or another rep just to confirm" Yup, of course the rep will state this, but don't believe it for a a second -especially if we are talking about Rahal. Just take a read through Sean's Rahal FUE thread. After two tries, Rahal is even going to pay for a FUE procedure with another surgeon for the guy. Rahal has definitely gotten better, but his FUE results are nowhere near his FUT results. It still shocks me how many informed patients elect to pay such a fortune for FUE in the states when it's so much cheaper in Europe for better quality FUE results. I guess a fool and his money are soon parted.
  16. If FUE, rather go to Europe for better results and a much cheaper price.
  17. Well, the top US surgeons (I am assuming FUT as it's cheaper) are Konior and Ron Shapiro in my opinion. Konior quoted me 11,500 for the first 2,000 grafts, and then I think it decreased to $3 a graft. Shapiro charges 5.5 a graft for the first 2,000 grafts and then it drops to $3 a graft, plus another 2% in tax. If you expanded your question to North America, then I would add Rahal and Hasson to the top list. Hasson charges 5 a graft for the 1st 2,000 and then it decreases to 3 a graft plus a 5% tax rate. Rahal charges 4.5 a graft for the 1st 2,500 grafts I believe, plus a 10 or 15% tax rate. There maybe cheaper surgeons out there, but they are not the best.
  18. I dunno why, but the above reminded me of the classic Ben Affleck speech from the Boiler Room movie "I'm a f$@&ing millionaire - I drive a Ferrari - whoever says money is root of all evel doesn't fu@$ing have any - whoever says money can't bring you happiness, we'll look at the smile on my face, ear to ear baby"
  19. Dr. Feller, just out of curiosity, who did your 2nd HT procedure in 2001? Was it Dr. Hasson?
  20. C'mon Hairweare, take the good Dr. up on his offer - would love to hear what Lorenzo and maybe even Erdogan has to say on the matter. If Hairweare doesn't take up the offer, could one of the moderates (minus Blake) please do so? This would be invaluable information , although I wonder if either of those FUE specialists would let themselves get railroaded like that.
  21. Should not even be an option, FUE in the USA is a complete and utter rip-off compared to European prices and European quality. Also very interesting that you called out Turkey from Europe, when in fact a portion of Turkey is in Europe - symmantics I guess though. My answer - FUT & North America until i am stripped out, and then FUE & Turkey to finish e off.
  22. Seriously? Isn't that what Dr. Feller alluded to. Alright buddy, I want officially apologize on behalf of everyone on this forum for not stating exactly that. I will make sure to pass on the message to them - YOU ARE DA MAN. Dear everybody, the next time somebody is having a medical emergency and in full panic mode, regardless of whether you have the expertize on the topic or not, please be sure to respond as follows: "there is no way such a thing could happen please don't be concerned as everything is perfectly fine."- As an example if someone posts "Hi everyone, I think I am having a heart attack, what is wrong with me and should I be concerned?" your response should go as follows: "there is no way such a thing could happen please don't be concerned as everything is perfectly fine". ----- I would like to apologize to the moderators and everyone on this site for my sarcasm displayed above if I may have offended. It just needed to be said.
  23. Hey buddy, people were only trying to help you and give you advice whilst your own surgeon was MIA and unavailable (I still think its a negative that your surgeon doesn't provide you with an emergency number or cellphone number as most of the top surgeons do). You were the one posting a question on a public forum where there are complete strangers and some clowns looming. Obviously there may be one or two idiots who don't know what they are talking about, and quite frankly, you should know better to take that advice with a grain of salt. However, to call the advice provided here as unfounded and blatant lies is completely unnecessary and disrespectful for some of the posters who were clearly concerned and only trying to help. Even the good Dr. Feller took time out of his weekend to provide you with his thoughts and help alleviate your fears whilst your own surgeon was nowhere to be found. You should have been so lucky to actually have someone like Dr. Feller as your HT surgeon it appears. I'm glad this had a happy ending for you, and I'm very grateful that this outstanding forum exists to help all of us share information. I think you should be more grateful and respectful for the people who tried to help you this weekend instead of slamming them.
  24. Hey buddy, Do you mind doing us a favor? Please go for round two, and when you finish, just rub the good stuff into the recepient area. Can you get back to us in 6 months and tell us what you see?
