  1. Yeah, Konior is the highest on my list, and I actually had him booked for a bit before deciding to delay surgery and let it heal as this surgery is staying pink even a year later, but since I'm waiting longer now I figured it'd be best to keep researching. Like surgeons with dermatologist backgrounds vs facial surgeon backgrounds and etc, as well as considering surgeons overseas that I might now know much about due to language barriers. Konior also recommended doing FUE due to the 7mm FUT scar I have now and just performing a scar repair, which made me think of FUE surgeons earlier as well He only had a 4-5 month waiting list when I was originally going for more surgery, I guess February is his slow month for anyone thinking about easy dates to book. Also couto results are amazing, when he combs through them you can see how thin they really are, so he seems like a genius at graft angles or something.
  2. I was considering Rahal a while ago, but interactions with him seem pretty limited outside of the surgery itself, and having 1 mediocre transplant and another complete failure, I want a surgeon that is more involved and performs more of the work compared to techs. With Hasson and Wong, I was automatically funneled to Wong, while Hasson seems to be the hairline surgeon and wasn't a fan of the lack of choice.
  3. So, I'm looking into giving rogaine foam a shot just to see if there's any benefit. Maybe I have some dormant transplant hairs that need a wake up? Or Maybe there's a couple of still alive hairs along my hairline which will grow. Who knows? I've had no testosterone for 4 years, so I'm curious as to if I could expect to not have much of a shed, since I'm not exactly actively balding, or if strong hairs still shed anyway? Had a previous experience with liquid rogaine, but it irritated my scalp pretty badly, so I didn't use it for more than 2 weeks.
  4. Side by side comparison. Desnity transplanted was approximately 38FU/sq.cm all over Honestly I'm just tired and frustrated with the fact that they were just dismissive and refused to acknowledge that there were any areas of poor growth whatsoever. A surgeon who's meant to be a part of the coalition should at least be honest with the patient. It's very visible that there was close to 0 growth in any of the hair bearing areas, I sent the clinic the exact same photos as I uploaded here.
  5. Can't do donor restocking as I have just about no body hair. Looking into a small 600 graft FUT to also repair the scar, just focusing on the worst area at the front next to the cowlick, basically
  6. Not sure why it ended so poorly. I had around 50% growth in the firsts transplant, so that one at least had noticeable growth. Was very careful in the first month so as to not hurt any grafts. The response I got with the surgeon was an assistant and not dr Path (was a surgical assistance named Mike), but I was told 'Please compare with pre-op photos. We transplanted just below the scar and added more density inside your native hairline. You can see that the density inside your hairline now is dense and the scar is less visible.' So there're not going to admit to the poor growth and I might as well give up on anything to do with this surgery at his point.
  7. Currently I'm looking mostly into Konior, Ron Shapiro, Gabel and possibly Cooley, but I've completely neglected looking into European surgeons. For anyone that has experience with them? How do they compare? The top ones seem to be Bisanga, Feriduni and Lorenzo, but are there any other elite surgeons I may have missed?
  8. If they're a bunch of no name techs that come and go than I'd prefer not to. Some clinics, like Shapiro medical have techs with lots of experience in the industry and I'd be fine if they assisted with the graft planting or possibly even extractions.
  9. Just a dumb thought. Are there any studies on the effects of SP94 on Lichen Planopilaris? It functions by preventing the scarring of the hair follicle, seems like it'd be helpful
  10. Haven't messaged them for the one year result yet. but at 9 months I was told to be more patient and wait until 18 months. I'll message them tomorrow but I don't really know what to say. They saw me at day 7 and said it looks good, so the hairs didn't dislodge. I'm not expecting a refund and I don't exactly want to return to the clinic that barely gave me any growth, so I'll just have to save up for another year or so to afford a 3rd pass from someone like Konior, Gabel or Cooley. Don't know if it affects anything, but I was swapped to being the 2nd surgery and Dr Path was 2 hours late, so maybe everyone was just tired and fatigued.
  11. If you're not doing it, take the medications first, tbh. You have hair on top of your head and having it strengthen up and even having a bit of potential regrowth would help a lot. I'd say to not focus on lowering your hairline in the first surgery and just focus on filling in the current balding area you have. A better hairline would be best reserved for if you have enough grafts later on
  12. I went to an award winning coalition surgeon with whom I had a good consult with a year prior. I thought I had picked a winner, but turns out, nope.
  13. Quick 1 year update. Minimal growth, no aesthetic difference in hair density compared to before. Overall a very negative chapter in my life and a waste of 1800 grafts that I'll never see again.
  14. I'd say Gabel or Hasson and Wong as the top docs. Rahal is a great surgeon too. Based on my experience, I can't recommend Dr. Path. I think you should consider surgeons like Dr. Cooley, Konior and Ron Shapiro as well.
  15. The way you wear the hat post op could affect it if you wear it tightly. Paranoid, but when the clinic tied the bandana on me, I could see the transplanted hairs sticking through it, like they poked through the bandana cloth. No bleeding or grafts found inside it though. Using medicated shampoos and whatnot too early (I've seen will Rassman say harsh stuff is ok after 15 days, but a lot prefer you to wait longer) Cleaning too vigorously, scrubbing or using too harsh of a stream of water (you can even achieve this with washing with a bowl or whatever). Going to a metal concert the next day Wearing a helmet, wig or too tight hat too early Having unfortunate genetics Rolling over in your sleep Having the cat sleep on your head Honestly I think it's mainly the grafts dying for reasons not fully understood. You're literally cutting something out of the body and putting it back in. Like scar tissue consuming or suffocating the graft
  16. Since my hair transplant was a disaster and I still have lingering redness, I'm curious about LP as an 'X factor'? Does a biopsy take much skin and is it really needed to diagnose it?
  17. I'll look for it. Hair growth looked good p, though conservative because that's what knudsen does (he seems to take the less is more ideology to the extreme sometimes). Scar was eh, wasn't thick but doesn't compare to the absolute top surgeons here. Might be his physiology though. As for bosnich, I just heard someone here being positive of him and that he's certified both the australian and American surgical boards or something. Can't speak of his surgery but you'd be good to get a consult with him for multiple points of view.
  18. Forgot his name at the time. Dr Bosnich seems like he could end up being good
  19. Bit hard to recommend Aus docs when noone speaks about them online, really. The most recent hair transplant from Dr. Marzola is back form 2003. There's a recent scalp advance that looks nice, but no transplants. There's one post from Dr Knudsen recently, and then you again have to go back to like 2003 for more results. Most other surgeon's barely even have Google search results. There's one surgeon in Melbourne that looks hopeful, though. Blame Australians being generally ignorant to the internet, I guess.
  20. Looking at your surgeon choices and you being fine with Dr Path apart from the FUT part. I just want to add that Dr Rahal in Canada is the same price as him and Dr. Bisanga isn't much more expensive. Dr Jean Devroye is also around the same price. Thai surgeon's really aren't that cheap anymore and you can get the same cost in Europe/North america if you shop smart.
  21. You'd have to be knocking your head around like you were at a metal concert to really hurt them like that. Can't see how general work stress would kill a graft, but be careful as to not let it ruin your posture to cause potential scar stretching. (Edit, didnt notice this in the FUE section)
  22. There was a short clip of a man walking around with just the headband and not covering the grafts at all. Wouldn't the sun be cooking his grafts? Also off topic, but you said you're gay in the video. How did Turkey seem for LGBT people, as that was the main thing keeping me away from going there for surgery.
  23. Some people probably wouldn't agree with me, but with a 2.5cm advancement I think you should also look into the possibility of a scalp advance with maybe a small amount of transplants after if the scar doesn't look as good as it should. You have very fine hair in your temples though, which may be an issue Either way, you have enough hair to wear a fringe, so I wouldn't worry about an awkward phase before growing starts, just cover it
  24. Same as Spanker but with the Donor. The only surgeon who seems to put a hard limit on how much the donor should be depleted is Bisanga. 50% may more or less look the same as a full head of hair, but it seems like the slightest amount of age related hair loss could make it very thin.
  25. You should post a picture directly from the front, though if the difference is only a few mm it won't be noticeable at all when the hair grows out. A small difference could potentially be swelling making you kind of wonky as well
