  1. It's more a random thought, but I had my transplant in February towards the end of summer, which from month 2.5 or so, it was all very cold winter weather in excessively dry rural Australia. My scalp remained red/pink for 9 months, and the moment it stopped being so cold and dry, it immediately returns to a relatively normal skin colour. I had seen a dermatologist and a hair tranplant surgeon who both didn't see anything 'wrong' with the redness, so could it be a possible physiological condition related to the weather? I'd also add that I rely on T gel and occasional nizoral to fix scalp flaking in winter while I just about never shampoo in summer, normally
  2. Gabel is a very similar surgeon to Konior, isn't he? I'd at least look at him.
  3. anywhere between 80-110ish. Differen ethnicities and stuff can change the number, mostly lower.
  4. Agree with the above post. I had maybe 20 hairs like this that stuck until month 4. They're likely dead and need some help being removed.
  5. You could give Dermatch or something similar a try
  6. So, 9 months in I'm noticing a lot of hairs that have shed out are about the same length as my recipient area hairs, which is a very different length compared to the rest of my hair. Can they sometimes shed out again early or is it kind of unusual?
  7. How many grafts have you had? Thinner hair around the ears is normal and it seems to correct itself under the scar at the back of your head. Maybe it's a coincidence?
  8. Probably has to do with hair caliber and stuff. The hair above my scar just continues into thick normal hair, but below the scar shortly fades away into sort of finer nape hair, which would be more noticeably thinner as it was thinner to begin with. Maybe stretching them closer together shrinks the gap between the donor and nape, and makes it more noticable
  9. Are you using mobile or something? The message should just be in here.
  10. If you went to a good doctor and trust his opinion, then you should follow his advice. Worst case scenario give some natural options a try like coconut oil. Also see a doctor on the off chance of infection.
  11. They seem to be a fairly low cost clinic, so if you're looking for a 'cheap' surgery, I'd suggest looking into Dr Rahal. He's fairly inexpensive in the first place, and the low value of the Canadian dollar makes him even more affordable. Seems pretty close to your state as well.
  12. I just got Plunkett's Aloe Vera gel which seems alright. When do you people apply it though? It makes my hair really still and straw like, so I can only really do it like an hour before I shower.
  13. That's definitely not the majority of the grafts. If you can afford it, I'd look at different surgeons instead of going to the same that gave you a poor result.
  14. The site literally has images trying to claim that Acell regrew hair inside Donor strip scars without mentioning any other form of treatment they had. The results at the bottom that show the most regrowth also mention that the grafts were dipped in Acell, so they have more hair because of a transplant rather than just Acell.
  15. You have a chance of growing more, but it's getting late. Who did you go to? Was it Rahal, as I see you were looking for surgeons around Toronto? I'd see your surgeon again or a Dermatologist just to check the skin as you seem to have retained redness
  16. You have a lot of little black hairs in the recipient area, I'd imagine they are early growth. I think it'll end up going well.
  17. Wouldn't hurt anything. Just wash your head off afterwards
  18. Thanks for the suggestion. I've sent a consult form to Gabel, and he seems very high quality, even collaborating with Konior on some textbook, but I'd need to know that he's just as high quality as Konior to really take the plunge.
  19. The hairs in the 6 months picture look like they're of better quality, while the original pictures hairs are half dead. I'd say the transplant shocked them out
  20. I've had 2 surgeries, the first having about 50% growth, second has pretty much close to zero growth in a lot of places at 9 months, also my scalp is visibly damaged a bit, not like thick scar tissue, but the texture is different to both my forehead and scalp skin, so it's kind of a repair at this point. Thanks for suggestions. I've contacted Konior to be booked in if there's a cancellation in February so far
  21. You'd definitely want at least 3000 if you have that much donor left. Also just curious, your scalp looks discoloured compared to the rest of your skin, is that scarring?
  22. I'd prefer not to do FUE, it's more that my scar is 7mm to 1cm wide, so going for more than a revision is very likely not possible, so looking at all options
  23. Thanks. While I won't be getting surgery until February or later depending on when the US surgeons have dates available, I'll be consulting with Knudsen in December and definitely want to see if the laxity exercises help.
  24. Can scalp laxity exercises cause scar stretching at 9 months?
  25. Considering that they seem to use a proprietary tool for it and only perform smaller procedures, I'd imagine that they take the necessary precautions to avoid any risks caused by keeping the hair longer. If I can ask though, why do you feel nizoral killed some hair transplant hair? Did you use it too early?
