  1. Fin is also good to stop your sides from coming down, and to protect donor. The good thing here is your age, 38 is a lot better than mid 20s. It is quite possible that your hair loss has stabilized and fin is not necessary. Good luck!
  2. Have you made a decision regarding fin? Either doctor is good, since you need more grafts, Erdogan may be a good fit unlike the low NW patients.
  3. For finasteride, I'd speak to another doctor, probably a dermatologist. I like Bisanga and Feriduni of those you listed. Would probably also add Kyriakos Maras and Jose Lorenzo to your list.
  4. I would consider Jose Lorenzo in your case. He's really good at implanting in between native hair, with tons of cases published, and he has more of a "hairline to crown" habit, rather than frontloading grafts.
  5. I thought taurusrisen was a Rahal worshipper?
  6. milo12 - why don't you start a thread where you can post your photos, so people have a good idea of what you are looking for. I think posters will be able to help you in your decision. I saw you have a thread but no photos.
  7. I don't know, but I was just telling you why you won't find much info here. Maybe you can look at other forums. I'm not familiar with his work to comment... IMO, don't get obsessed with one surgeon...there is no "chosen one" or one perfect surgeon. There are a lot of good clinics out there today.
  8. ^Konior, Shapiro, Gabel, Hasson and Wong. Which is basically the consensus view here...
  9. Nope, no particular order. I have not researched those clinics as I looked primarily into European FUE clinics. But if I was staying in NY, I'd probably start by looking at those names. Not promoting them, just a pond to fish from...
  10. In general most posters don't have a favorable view of the clinic chain he is associated with. That's not to say he's bad, but just so you know.
  11. Feller, True, Dorin, Bernstein, and Wesley are all recommended here. Each is worth a look for sure.
  12. All three doctors are great, but I feel each is best at Strip surgery. Konior is great, and well respected on the forums, and of the three I prefer him, but he has a long waitlist of about a year. Have you considered traveling abroad or are you planning on staying in NA? FUE is pretty expensive here. ARTAS is really interesting. While it started out as a harvesting tool, it actually now makes recipient site incisions as well (!). It may well be the future of surgery, but I personally am not 100% comfortable in going with it now. What's also unclear to me is how ARTAS results differ from surgeon to surgeon...does it commoditize the surgeon? I'm not sure. Personally, I'd like the technology to continue maturing...
  13. I was not trolling but I knew somebody wouldn't be able to resist. But the truth still stands, shedding, while reported, is not the typical experience. The way OP phrased it made it sound like it was the default, which is not true. That's all I have to say.
  14. Myth. Shedding is uncommon. Before anybody goes on a rant, yes I know it happens to some, but it's not the typical experience.
  15. Massage the scalp until the crusts come off...? Have you communicated with your clinic?
  16. Use the branded Proscar. It's cheaper than propecia but still made by Merck so you don't have to question if it is genuine.
  17. Please post photos so there is no miscommunication. Why haven't you removed the scabs like I mentioned?
  18. I understand, but your process strikes me as very vulnerable to groupthink. Additionally, it is incorrect to assume that others know far more than you do. A good example is that you were surprised that many good surgeons didn't come out of mikeyhwk asking surgeons who they would operate with. This was entirely predictable - because doctors have the same biases as posters. There is no other way to doing research besides personally looking at doctors' results and trying to determine yourself. But since you mentioned that you wouldn't know enough to determine this, the real question you should be asking is, what makes a doctor good?
  19. jcs87, I understand what you're doing in terms of asking other posters. But what do you like? Which doctors impress you? You have to remember, there are many doctors doing good work, but only a small number of names get passed around as "recommendations". Only 3 years ago did Bisanga get on this forum, and few english speaking posters had heard of Dr Lorenzo. I don't know how many of those realize that Dr. Vila's results also are part of Injerto Capilar's results library. Most posters hadn't heard of Couto, but in a few months you see posters touting him. Relying on poster recs will lead you to a limited set of names. Just FYI.
