  1. I think I paid something like £5,000 or £5,500 for 2,000 grafts with Dr Feller in 2012......that's without travel or hotel either. I think that's a fair price in 2021 for a quality surgeon, especially if you don't need to deal with travel.
  2. Interesting. Is oral minox and topical fin producing better results than topical fin and topical minox?
  3. This is seriously amazing. What I'd like to know is if this sort of result is typical of an Arshad crown or just a combination of surgeon skill + patient genetics? Is this that 1 in a million patient result or does Dr Arshad have a great track record of crown results similar to this?
  4. My redness took months because of my fair skin. I only rubbed aloe vera on once per day but it might have gone quicker if I did it multiple times per day, so definitely consider doing that......I went with Feller too by the way, all turned out great.
  5. What you're asking really is can you add density / have a "touch up" session at a later date.......and yes you can. It can take 18 months to really see your full result though so you shouldn't be too eager to jump back in.
  6. That's what I'm afraid of... he pulled it off though. Looks like the hair grows back quickly enough to pull off the undercut look...surprised how much his top level hair was able to cover it. Thanks for digging this out!
  7. Finasteride is much more powerful than minoxidil but minoxidil helps too. If in 3 years things get worse then it will be the finasteride that isn't working, because minoxidil losing efficiency isn't going to override finasteride if fin keeps working. But either way it doesn't really matter - either you will stabilise and possibly regrow hair, or it will keep getting worse. Just keep taking both and don't worry about it.
  8. that last bit isn't great advice but i agree with the first. essentially it's either hide or be open and relaxed.....however big the surgery is will determine how easy it is to hide. Good points. Don't jump ahead......let us know your current state and plans so we can understand your ability to hide it and whether you have made a good decision with the doctor etc. That's good advice, the reason I could get away with it was long hair all over. It was just a rocky first 3-6 months due to shaving down.
  9. It's nigh on impossible unless you plan to live under a hat the whole time. If you already have lots of hair, you will have part of it shaved so it doesn't get in the way when they create the new hair line and implant the grafts. And that hair will take weeks or months to grow back, so you go through a period where it's all uneven unless you shave the rest too. If you don't have much hair, you're going to suddenly have lots of new hair for a few weeks before it falls out and goes dormant for 3 months. I told my group of friends which meant I could still socialise hatless unless we went to a pub where I'd wear a hat. I understand roommates aren't necessarily your close childhood friends but if you can tell them then you'll make your life easier.
  10. I had FUT last time so the donor area wasn't a concern at all post op other than removing the stitches. The big thing was regrowing the shaven down area around the frontal third HT. Hattingen recommended FUE on my next HT which will be around 1,500 in my crown. I have very long hair, Dr Muresanu said it will be like an undercut..... I can't really envisage what this would look like though. Will the entire donor be shaved or just a section that can be covered by the rest of the hair?
  11. Located in north american + high NW = Hasson and Wong every day of the week (in my opinion).
  12. Definitely postpone it.... it's widely accepted you should be on the meds for at least a year to stabilise your loss before surgery and generally see how your body copes with the meds. Transplants without meds are risky because you may lose the rest of your hair - although Eugenix are very reputable so would likely take future loss into account. I definitely advise starting slow with propecia. Don't dive in. Cut a pill into quarters and take one quarter every few days. Just build it up over weeks and months to where your body is very used to it before you take it daily.
  13. minoxidil max, they're really good and have lots of different combinations of solutions and products. if you switch to anything i recommend starting slowly and having a transition period.
  14. That's a lot of money to pay for a few photos, but hey, your choice....the good thing is that it's all legit. I had 12.5% cream with azaelic acid, never managed to get it anywhere else but rogaine foam 5% worked just as well. I am now on a solution of 7% liquid minoxidil and 1.5mg finasteride that has caffeine, retinol and other things in it that I forget now. 1mm for the roller although i haven't done it in ages...keep meaning to! it was working really well.
  15. I am a former Belgravia patient. They helped me stabilise and regrow some hair for 2 years before I took the advice on here to get the same products much cheaper elsewhere. They are great for giving newbies the right advice and treatments....but they also charge those ridiculous London prices. I was paying £1,200 - £1,400 a year with Belgravia and got that down to £300-£400 for the same stuff with the same results.
  16. I got 5 seconds in and had to turn it off, can't stand that over the top movie trailer voice.
  17. yeah i wouldn't take two different minoxidils together
  18. Thanks Melvin. When you see thousands of genuine newbie posts as we have over the years, shills stand out from a mile away.
  19. Great question. It's something that I wonder about a lot because I have certain sporting things going on that I can't afford to take too much time away from....but at the same time I really want to get this crown sorted. My hair is long and there's enough on the crown for me to use concealer and slick it all back. I don't know if too much will need to be shaved down and it will be impossible to hide. If you have short hair that will be back to normal in a few months then you should just shave it off. When I had the front done, it was shaved down so much more than I anticipated. It took 4 months for me to be able to be confident without a hat on. It was all worth it in the end though so whatever it takes, however shit it's going to look, just do it and think of the long term gains.
  20. Definitely. There's no way that's a natural hairline in that video. You can see how much he receded between the first Bourne and Oceans film in 01/02 and the last films in the trilogies in 2007.
  21. Did the doctor say anything about what it means for a HT? I still have a lot of hair even though the loss is significant. Hattingen estimated 1,500 grafts via Skype so not a huge area to cover, the camera wasn't close enough for whorls to be noticeable though I assume.
  22. My mum used to say I had a double crown. I always assumed it just meant extra thick but apparently it means you have two whorls. I want to get a HT in the next year or two on my crown to rebuild it. I am wondering if having a double crown makes things more difficult? Maybe more grafts are required? Does anyone know anything about this? I haven't seen it discussed before.
  23. I read that they perform the same function so it doesn't really matter whether you take fin or saw, if you're going to get sides from one you'll get sides from both. Because it isn't fin that can give you sides but the effect it has on your body which causes the hair gains and sexual stuff - and saw has that same effect
