  1. Looks fine...the scabs will come off eventually...just follow your doctor's instructions to the tee! Mine came off after I started massaging them off on around day 14...then the shedding started after that too.
  2. NICE!!! 4808!!! That is great I was hoping he would be able to get to 4k let alone 4,808!!! Great stuff...glad he was able to also get you one nice scar...sounds like he pulled off yet another masterpiece! Rest up and keep us updated on your progress!!! Give me a buzz if you need anything!
  3. Good luck NHP...u r in great hands!!! The Foxbar house is like the United Nations...(of hair!) lol. keep us posted!!!!
  4. Hey everyone! Quick question...I am about 1.5 months out from my FUT HT with Dr. Rahal. All is going well as my recipient hair is sloooowly growing back however still not enough to really cover my frontal third where I had my surgery. My corners are still redish and you can see the hairline line that was implanted still. With that said, I tried the other day to use Toppik and experiment with trying to see if I could cover up my frontal third somewhat decent enough to go out without a hat...but it just looked too fake mainly because the corners are red and there is no real hair to hold onto the Toppik. So with that said, what can (if anything) be done about the redness in order to potentially cover it up...I am looking to try to conceal it a little so it is not noticeable. Is Dermatch the solution? To get a skin tone color? I have never used it before so not sure how it really works...any advice you HT vets can give would be great. I would love to leave the house without my hat one of these days!!! How does everyone else do it??! Thanks!!!
  5. Congrats!!! Looking good thus far and you still have a lot more growth left...good stuff! Keep us posted!!!
  6. Good Luck NHP!!! You are in greeeeat hands...no worries!!! Enjoy the journey!!! Give me a ring if you need anything!!! Keep us posted!
  7. I agree with NHP...trust is HUGE in having a HT...the counting of the grafts is nominal when it comes to trusting your doctor...his reputation and results are the most important trust you will need! If you go with a reputable doctor you will not have to worry about graft count.
  8. Good stuff NHP! We are all excited for you...enjoy the cool road trip ahead of u!!!!
  9. You live in the US? I gather you don't have medical insurance? If you have them prescribe proscar it will be extremely cheap for you. I'm sure you could perhaps find it online somewhere but i would be skeptical of it.
  10. Fin is by prescription only..so you will have to get a prescription by a doctor...usually a dermatologist. I am not sure if you can get it online...doubt it without a prescription...again you could try to google it and see what you get. In regards to shampoo...I am not sure what kind of shampoo you are looking for.
  11. P.S. I went to Rahal for a HT in December 2011...check out my site...if you want PM and I can tell you all about it. Good Luck.
  12. Well based on the pics...it seems your hairline has receded somewhat at the temples (corners) but luckily the remaining hair is thick and appears really healthy. That and also having very long hair you are able to cover the recession nicely. You could get a HT to build the corners and you would look great but you also must factor in your age and family history and other factors. You are kind of young so perhaps at this point you should monitor it and get on some meds. Hairloss is a personal thing in that everyone around you may tell you your hair is fine but if you deep down are bothered by it every minute of every day like I was...you should do something about it otherwise you won't live your life to the fullest always being held back by your insecurity with your hair. Again if you are that troubled I would look into it more...if not...then enjoy your life and keep it long to cover the minimal recession.
  13. Ronjohn: I agree with Hairthere...we need more info to fully help you out. You have a good list of docs so far. I went with Dr. Rahal. Check out my website as I have documented my journey thus far. H&W are very impressive as well as you can go to their website and see all of their videos.
  14. I agree with Hairthere...Bernstein seems conservative. Search around this site and you will see the work of other great doctors. I had my procedure with Dr. Rahal...check out my website to help you out. You want to see the reviews on the doctor you are picking so if there are any "horror" stories as you put it you should try to stay away. I wouldn't focus so much on location as you really want to focus on the doctor as a HT is a lifelong thing and you don't want to go to a dr because he is local and regret it.
  15. You can put as much as you need to cover the affected area...don't focus so much on what the label tells you as that is an estimate...use however much you feel you need to cover the affected areas.
  16. Meast 21: Just from reading your posts in this thread you have not researched NEARLY enough to get a HT. Your questions are that of a newbie which is fine but please utilize this site and become extremely knowledgeable about a HT before you take the plunge. A HT is not something you decide on Monday and are getting on on Tuesday...not how it happens...it takes a long time to vet the right doctor for your particular case. There are a list of surgeons on this website that are recommended and from your due diligence you should be able to decide on your own. I would recommend going through them and doing online consults if you don't want to travel to see them in person. Not sure where you are from, but I had my HT with Dr. Rahal in Ottawa and it was amazing as I am 1 month out now. You can check out my website to start researching the doctor and just reading about the procedure in general. Also to answer your other questions...2k grafts will be around $8-$10k...as doctors charge anywhere from around $4 to $5 a graft usually for the first 2,500 grafts...again this is a general estimation of the cost. Research more and you will be better off for it as a HT is not something to mess around with in the hands of a bad surgeon...you will be paying for your whole life trying to fix the mess they make. Hope this helps you.
  17. Lookin great Aaron and only 6 months! Good stuff...you def have to be really happy even at this point! Keep us posted!!!
  18. I found the best way to easily clean the grafts is to mix the shampoo and water in a spray bottle as they did during my cleanings as Rahal's office. You are instructed not to touch the grafts for 14 days. I would spray the shampoo on my grafts...wait a few secs...then have another spray bottle with water and rinse the shampoo away...it was pretty clean and easy to do. I would do the same process with cleaning my scar area as I rubbed the scar area clean as you were allowed to gently touch the area. After 14 days you can start showering normally and massage the scabs away...and can use regular shampoo approximately 30 days after your HT.
  19. Hey MGZ...I am 1 month out from my HT with Dr. Rahal...PM me if you want to discuss Dr. Rahal and the HT experience!
  20. Another crazy good result even with a lower density as requested by the patient. He must be pretty happy! How many months is this post HT?
  21. Looking good Hariri! You have some good early growth...I would start growing it out at this point as it will probably yield a nice result even at this early juncture of 5 months! Congrats and keep us posted!!!
  22. Well today is officially 1 month! I am also officially in the ugly duckling stage as you can tell from my pics! Here are my updates: Rogaine: I am on about week 2 of my Rogaine Foam experience and so far so good. It is a little annoying to have to put it on twice a day but having short hair allows application to be easy and takes about 5 minutes each time. Shedding: I have been shedding a ton lately especially since applying Rogaine in that I massage my hair during application and a ton of hairs are all over my hands and sink…but I expected this so I wasn’t nervous about it. Redness: I am not too red but it appears to be most red on my right side corner going to my middle of my hairline only. The left side has some shadow of where my implanted hairline was but the center of my hairline doesn’t really show any redness. My temple points are still a little red at this point. Tightness/Numbness: I am not nearly as tight as I was even a week ago…I can clearly see a great difference in that I can turn my head and lift it up and down without feeling that pulling/tight sensation which is nice. My numbness has also went down but I still have some throughout the top of my head and mainly still right above my scar area but nothing too major or concerning. Scar: In regards to healing it looks and feels pretty good. It appears that I may have some minor shockloss especially on my right side where the scar isn’t really covered too well by my hair as it appears to be some above and below the line. It also appears that my hair isn’t growing downward (growing to the right) so that it seems to be long enough but doesn’t fall down to cover the scar. I gather it will fall down eventually once it gets longer. My left side however is growing downward so it seems to be covering the scar somewhat but still see some lack of growth above and below it so it is still somewhat visible. The back however is where my hair grows the fastest and thickest so the scar looks really great back there and has a lot better coverage. Overall: I am trying to keep positive as I know this is the time where it is the hardest especially when I see pictures and realize that I look pretty bad. My hair’s growth stages seems to be different throughout my head as the back grows nicely but the sides are slow to catch up…it has pretty much always been that way but I never buzzed it so low to visually notice it this much. The hair in my front where I had some decent hair originally doesn’t seem to be growing that quickly either perhaps from some shockloss but I really hope it all grows evenly when it is all said and done! I am going to try to stay positive and not worry about my hair for the month hoping that is grows to a point where it at least nicely covers the scar…I gather I will have to trim/shave it down again to keep it even with the lack of growth in my recipient site…fun fun! Lol. I will be updating you guys monthly at this point. Thanks again for all your help and support and I appreciate any comments!!!
  23. I used to have that issue. I checked my settings and couldn't figure it out. I emailed Bill and he solved it for me...so try emailing Bill.
  24. good stuff...now you can rest and heal! Foxbar is great...enjoy! How long are you staying?
  25. Good luck! I had a HT with Dr. Rahal recently and it was a great experience. You are in great hands! Keep us posted!!!
