  2. Looks good...refined job...congrats and happy growing!!!!
  3. Hey...I am considering FUE...but would perhaps consider FUT with potential for putting some FU's in the scar area to mask it. Has anyone done or seen this? Figure it could potentially be the best of both worlds. I have read often about this but haven't really seen any pictures and/or cases of it on this or other forums.
  4. I'm in the same boat as you Mick...I have had different opinions in terms of graft size...I am a Norwood 3...1 doc said around 1,200 to 1,700, another about 1,700 and the last one said approx. 2,500. The 1,700 docs said you will prob have to come back for density while the 2,500 doc said one pass and you will enjoy the density. I also am struggling with the usual FUT vs. FUE. I don't want the scar as all my life I have always worn my donor hair at a 2 to 3 clip so I don't feel comfortable having the "smiley face" scar shine through bc i don't have great coverage with a 2 or 3 clip. But of course there are limitations with FUE in the potential yield so I think to myself that is it worth having less yield and no scar or a scar and higher yield? Because I also understand that any second procedure can be rough on the donor area...FUE or FUT...you are dealing with scar tissue at this point and I could only imagine your scalp can have so much laxity as it may tighten up...FUE on the other hand has tiny little scar tissue all throughout the donor area and could like someone said above cause the donor area to thin out if you take too many grafts...ahhh...decisions decisions...lol. I think at the end of the day I am going to go with the FUE bc of the scar issue and also I feel pretty comfortable with the doctor and he has good bedside manner that if anything went wrong he would correct it...that is important too.
  5. Upon viewing your photos it appears 1,500 grafts were not nearly enough to cover your frontal 1/3. It seems the grafts from viewing it post op didn't even make a dent. Granted I don't know exactly what your game plan was with the doctor but it appears the graft count is low for such an area with loss like you seem to have. Was it the game plan to be very conservative the first time round? Did the doctor tell you that you would definitely need to come in for another procedure for density? Granted you are only 6 months out and more growing is ahead of you I still am not truly convinced that the the graft count was ideal for your loss pattern even being ultra conservative. Can you perhaps PM me who the doctor was? Did you consult with other doctors prior to the surgery...did they also recommend 1,500 grafts?! Also as a side note to perhaps deal with the current situation...I am a big fan of concealers...Toppik mainly. If you put some toppik over your affected areas it would look dramatically improved for the short term and give you back a little more confidence while you wait for the hair to grow. Keep us all posted and definitely consult with your doctor about this whole situation. Hang in there buddy you are not alone as this is what this forum is for...to help all of us out!
  6. Hey Everyone, I am in the process of finalizing what I want in regards to FUT vs. FUE. I basically am a Norwood 3 with hairline issues. I have been to a good amount of consultations with recommended doctors on this forum. I want my hairline recreated and like all of us to be somewhat "dense". With that said, by recreating my hairline I would have FU's planted on bald skin (i.e. some of my hairline) and up in the frontal zone where there is already some hair. So I wanted to know what the average density was for such a procedure? I was told I would need 1,700 grafts from some doctors and about 2,500 from another doctor. With the 1,700 doctors, I was told I would probably have to come back in for another procedure to increase density...however with the other 2,500 doctor he claimed I would only need 1 procedure and the density would be great and there was no need to have to have 2 procedures when this can be accomplished in 1 procedure (I guess he said he could dense pack the grafts). So again to reiterate my question...is it normal to go in for say 2 procedures to sure up the hairline with density or like the other doctor is saying in that you can achieve the desired density in 1 larger densely packed session?! And also what is the FU/Sq. Cm everyone gets at the hairline/frontal zone? P.S. Don't question if the doctor is a good one bc they are all HIGHLY recommended on this site so please do not use that as a basis for discussion. Thanks!!!
  7. I think since you claim you haven't lost any hair in the past 3 years, I would think that if your hairline bothers you you could lower it to a reasonable level. You definitely have great hair and I have seen others who have stabilized with a mature hairline say like yours do a small HT. FUE would be good in your case. I would get on Propecia and/or Rogaine to hold those locks of yours. At a minimum if you don't want to go the Propecia route I would definitely take Saw Palmetto as it is a more natural approach to hair meds. Good Luck!
