I am not trying to hijack the thread with my post but I believe in what I wrote below; I remember around the time I signed up on the forum I was 23. I went to Dr Konior after seeing his excellent results on patients hairlines on the forum. I was not as knowledgeable then with H/T's as I am now. Dr Konior could have said that I was a candidate, but instead he educated me on my age and the possibilities of me progressing even more in the coming years. He pretty much told me everything that "Bill" posted with his concerns of this 17 year old patient in the years to come. I am very thankful of that consultation as I am a month away from 30 and I've been on Finasteride for a few years now. I've maintained my existing hair and leaned so much on the way! I hope this patient will get the correct advice in the coming years. I also have some friends who had hair loss under 21. Just a few years later there whole heads were bald. Now their heads are shaved. I can only imagine this kid 5-10 years later with no hair except for 1,200 grafts in his hairline. Plus the scar in back will never allow him to shave his head without being self conscious. I wonder what advice his physiatrist will give him then??? Just my 2 cents.

The ARTAS Hair Transplantation System For FUE
Rachmunas4life replied to Sean's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I just received an e-mail from Shapiro Medical. They are now using the Artas! : ) -
I've been going to Walgreens. I never thought of price matching or checking around for better prices. I was a $30 for 30 pills last year. The last time I paid it was $50 as they went up a few months back. I'm going to ask about price matching or I'll drive 20 minutes to Walmart and get groceries too as I'm running low on Fin. Thanks for saving me money!

I'd love to see updated photos! Thanks!

I had an in person consultation with both Dr. Charles & Dr. Epstein. I was more impressed with Dr. Charles and felt more of a connection with him. He even introduced me to a patient of his that was having lunch and half way through his hair transplant. The work looked stellar and the patient just 100% talkative and not drugged. It was really cool! I didn't care for Dr. Epstein's pushy consultant Aaron. He tried to sell me the procedure right there a little too hard. Plus his hair looked really pluggy and sparse. Like a Bosley commercial... I could only see a few good photos in his huge photo book. I've seen so many more excellent ones from many surgeons on here! Remember this is my 2 cents...

I actually had consultations with Dr. Ron Shapiro (2 years ago) , Dr. Konior, (5 years ago) Dr. Epstein (2 years ago) and Dr. Charles (2 years ago). I felt most comfortable with all except Dr. Esptein. So much knowledge in my head, lol! My hair is always semi long. My photo you see is the shortest it's been in a while. But the past year I grew it out again. I'd 100% go even longer if my hairline was really strong and 1cm lower. That's what I've always wanted.

Thank I know about distance to go to the best. I believe he is on my top 10 list from everything I've seen on him which is why I trust him performing surgery on me. I'm just debating on FUE since I have a very elastic scalp and I don't believe Dr. Path performs it. U.S. surgeons are out of my price range.

Well it's been almost 3 years since my last post. I didn't have anything done yet but I do think about my hair often. I don't come on the forum as much as before but like seeing updates, etc... The only thing that has been on my mind is my trip to Thailand next spring with my fiance for our honeymoon. I've been following Dr. Pathomvanich for a few years now and have never seen a bad result. Also I do have a budget and know that Thailand in general is much less expensive. I've been on Finasteride for over 2 1/2 years now. I have seen no loss in crown or mid scalp and never had loss there prior to Finasteride. My temples are holding up well. No recession in my right temple but I've always had slight miniaturization in the left, although no change in 3 years possibly due to the Finasteride. I do have an elastic scalp which worries me about strip. I know FUE isn't as good and is more expensive. I have also been on this forum long enough to read all the posters and Dr.'s words on pros/cons on FUT & FUE. So my question is do I keep waiting or finally take the plunge???? In Thailand it's so much cheaper and in my price range! I will there in the spring and Dr. Pathomvanich is one of the best. I wish I wasn't too indecisive. 1,500-2,000 grafts in the hairline (1cm lower), temples and front lateral triangles slightly worked on (left more than right). Thanks for all the help over the years!!!

This is such a natural result! I am impressed!
