  1. I think you have a good head of hair esp at 32...but I understand how you want FUE to clean up the receded sections. 1,000 to 1,500 would cover it. I like how you photo shopped your last pic...I was like wait a minute...how did he get all of this hair without a HT??!! lol. How did you do that...a special program...I would like to do that to my pic to get an idea of what it would look like. I'm kind of surprised doctors don't have before and after software to simulate results...plastic surgeons do (i.e. nose jobs, face lifts, etc). I gather it can't be exact but it could give the patient a slight idea at least.
  2. Great story...so happy for you...congrats...your hair looks great...you came a LONG way from a NW 5...great coverage!!! I hope I get a great result like yours!!! Good Stuff!!!
  3. Thanks everyone...I am still in the air about a slight widows peak...not sure if it adds anything...i do like Rahal's widows peak he does for a good portion of his patients though...i guess i will see when i get there how I am feeling...I know Rahal likes it because I remember him saying it adds a little something extra to hairlines when I consulted with him.
  4. Hey All! Well...the big day is literally 1 week away...going in for a strip 3k grafts with Dr. Rahal...to my frontal third to restore my hairline and temple points to frame my face...looking for a nice dense pack too! For more info see my original post when I made my decision at http://http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/162964-ive-made-my-decision.html I am feeling probably like everyone getting ready to go in for a HT...nervous...anxious...scared to have my head cut open for cosmetic reasons...etc. Just looking for some/any words of wisdom/support from everyone out here who I must say has been soooo supportive and informative in helping me make my decision to go forward with my HT. As you can see in my post op pics I want to REALLY focus on getting back my hairline and temple points back to frame my face...it has been sooo long since I had a legitimate hairline...especially without Toppik! I like the hairline drawn but I might tweak it a little to bring the temple points out a little more and the corners in a little to help frame the face...I'm also deciding on having my widows peak put back as I had a slight one when I was younger...but am having second thoughts about it because I really like just a nice straight hairline with no interruptions in the middle (i.e. very slight widows peak)...but Rahal is known for his every slight widows peak...any advice/thoughts?! I am just hoping to get a nice dense pack in the hairline and taper it off as it goes into the frontal third so that I don't have to hopefully worry about this area for several years...def don't want to go through this again for the same area. I am going to tell him if he needs to get additional grafts to do what he has to do to make it nice! I'm a little worried that the hairline drawing and actual results may vary even though I doubt it will bc Rahal is a great doc...I'm just nervous to look up after the procedure and not see what I envision in my head! I am arriving on Dec 5th and having the procedure on Dec 6th...staying at FOXBAR through Saturday Dec. 10th and going to get my head cleaned each day at Rahal's office. I plan on providing everyone a really DETAILED report with a lot of pictures esp of his office and also Foxbar. Not looking forward though to the down time as having my whole frontal third shaved is NOT going to look good and I'm nervous how long it will take before I can look decent enough to go out and back into the work/real world...I gather I will have to cut my hair after like a month to try to fade it in. Any advice on this would also be appreciated. Thanks everyone again for all your support...I could use a few more days of it...thanks!!!!
  5. Good Stuff Hairthere! Finish the job now and you won't have to worry about hairloss ever again!!! Your hair looks great as is...so this HT will def put you over the top with great hair! Congrats!
  6. True...that was what I was thinking...don't want to potentially hurt my result...I will just document with pictures. Thanks for your responses!!!
  7. I have been doing my exercises for over 2.5 months as I have my HT surgery next week...and I am not sure if I truly feel I have improved my laxity. I gather it had to have helped it but can't really be sure though. I'm having 3k grafts and was told that my laxity is good for this so I'm hoping it really is come surgery time next week!
  8. Lookin good Aaron!!! Congrats and you still have A LOT of time for further growth! Good stuff...keep us all posted!!!
  9. Hey All, I am having my HT in about a week...and I really want to document it the best way I can. My doctor is Dr. Rahal...and I really am sooo thankful for all the great documentation that everyone has given this community for all the doctors here. With that said, I always loved Hasson and Wong's video's of their patients and I always wondered why Dr. Rahal who is also one of the best like H&W doesn't have any real video documentation of say his office and just his patients going through the whole procedure like H&W does. So with that said, I was thinking about trying to add some video to my documentation...but feel like perhaps the Dr. might not like this...has anyone encountered an issue with asking to video some of the procedure? I would love to have this video for my use and also for everyone else to see...but I am nervous that it might mess up my results in that it could be a big distraction and believe me that is the LAST thing I want! lol. Anybody else have any documentation pointers I could have prior to leaving for my HT next week?! I already have my website read to go...All are welcome...thanks!!!
  10. Welcome to this site! Without knowing much about your personal situation with hair loss outside of what you currently disclosed...your best bet is to get on meds immediately. I am referring to Finasteride...which is more commonly known by the brand named Propecia. You can however get a cheaper name called Proscar which you can then divide into 1/4's. That is the best bet you have for now to hold onto your hair and potentially re-growing a little. Please provide pictures so that we can better assess your situation. Hope this helps...also browse this site and you will be able to educate yourself.
  11. Hang in there Keith...you are on ur way to recovery. That's interesting that he had to re-open your donor area after only getting 3,300...has that happened to anyone else??? Did he say that happens sometimes?!
  12. I was considering FUE but after speaking with several doctors it became apparent that I was best suited for FUT due to my hair loss and potential for further loss...so I am now getting FUT.
  13. Looking good!!! The crown is really starting to fill in nicely...good stuff!!! You are def on your way! Keep us posted and congrats!!!
  14. Congrats Keith!!! Can't wait to see the pics...please document your experience the best you can as there are a lot of future Rahal patients with surgeries coming up in December and January looking for all the info they can get...including me!!! One quick question...you had originally gone in for 3,500...and received 3624...how does that work...he asks if you want more if he can harvest them? I'm curious to see how much the doctors usually go over the original plan...could he have got more and just stopped at 3,624? Keep us posted!
  15. Bowser: Congrats on choosing Dr. Rahal and good luck with your HT surgery...I too am going to Dr. Rahal in December...I'm getting 3k FUT for my hairline and frontal third. Sean is right in that you have great thick and curly hair...which will def make for a GREAT hairline result!!! Good luck again and document your journey...keep us posted!
  16. Yeah I'm staying there the whole week of my surgery. I have seen the place...it is literally 1 quick block from the office and easily within walking distance...like 3-5 full minutes. It is a house in the middle of a block of houses in a residential street. You are right...the house is off a main road which is where Rahal's office is and there is a Pizza Hut there and other places too.
  17. No Prob Keithh...we are all in the same boat together!!! Good Luck and definitely keep us posted...you staying at Foxbar?
  18. 3,500 will def do you nicely...give you a nice dense hairline and frontal third...I am sure I will be nervous too when it gets closer but the way I look at it and perhaps u should to is that you are literally going to one of thee best HT docs in the world so that is all you can ask for. His results are wonderful and I have never seen a bad thing posted about him all the years I have been on here so no worries...you are in great hands! keep us posted!!!
  19. NEWHAIRPLEASE: U beat me to it...we must have literally posted at the same time! LOL
  20. Good Luck! I am having a HT with him also in December. Do you have any pics? Also tell us a little more about your HT...how many grafts, u on meds, etc.
  21. Jacob, I noticed that you state no negative comments on your decision for a HT...so I will respect this and not ask any further questions/inquiries as to your loss or age, etc). With that said, I am having a HT with Dr. Rahal in December for approx. 3k grafts (FUT) to restore my hairline and frontal third. Perhaps I am bias but Dr. Rahal is absolutely one of the best HT surgeons in the world amongst a few others that you will find on this site...but since you just refer to either Rahal or Akin, I would recommend him. Now...you seem to be certain that Rahal is the better doctor based on what you said above, however I am concerned in that you seem to be dazed by Akin offering you a discount and/or free grafts...NEVER and I repeat NEVER be swayed by price...because any monies you save now you will surely be spending on a repair HT if the doctor you picked because of the price difference messes up your head! HT's are expensive no matter how you look at it...so if you are going to go through with it you should be more concerned with reputation and ACTUAL results vs. price. Plus you are talking about FUT vs. FUE...not sure which you are set on but are you aware that Dr. Rahal also does FUE? Bottom line go with the doctor, not his prices as all HT docs for the most part are competitively priced give or take. Hope this helps...also if you have some pics we can also help you out and give you more advice if that is what you seek. You should take advantage of this site and all the great members in disclosing more about yourself and situation as we are all here to help and you be surprised how this changes your thoughts for the better...I know it definitely has helped me out in making my decision. Keep us posted!
  22. I am having a HT with Dr. Rahal and he requires that you pay in full 2 weeks before surgery...I'm not however sure if that is the norm...I gather it would be though give or take a week before surgery. It's better to just get it all out of the way so all you have to focus on is the surgery...you don't want any big surprises like one member recently posted about his nightmare minutes before he was supposed to get a HT (long story short he thought he was getting 0% interest rate but wound up being 15%...so he didn't get his HT).
  23. Looks REALLY good...you can def see the new hairline design...once it fully grows in soon it will look amazing!!! Congrats!
  24. Thanks Gillenator...I am following Dr. Rahal's instructions...but the reason behind my post is to ask other HT patients if they could do anything differently in regards to preparing for and post HT that they convey this to me. There is usually a lot of trial and error both before and after a HT that I always read in their posts...such as suggestions that they can recommend for me.
  25. Does the clinic give you a hat or something to wear (cap like) afterwards?
