  1. This week is looking to be a great week. We have added not only a world-class FUE surgeon Dr. Erdogan and now we are recognizing the brilliant work of Dr Bisanga. I think for anyone who has seen his work, they can appreciate how much he deserves such a nomination. I vote yes.
  2. I think we're going to have to be a little more specific when we say Shapiro, especially with the newer people on the forums. It has come to my attention that there is also a Canadian Shapiro. So we have a Paul Shapiro, Ron Shapiro, Larry Shapiro and Jerry Shapiro.. Wouldn't want to give someone the wrong information about who you're talking to . Spanker was talking either about Ron or Paul Shapiro, both from Minneapolis Minnesota.
  3. 2600 grafts? That makes how much I used for my whole scalp feel futile. :-| Result looks great though!
  4. I would like to see some primary literature on this subject. If anyone has any research articles, send away. Thanks
  5. Throughout the pregnancy?? Women are not supposed to take Propecia.
  6. Beautiful results. Congrats. How much total donor do you have? For me, it seems like a fairly aggressive approach for you level of baldness. However, the results look great. Are you going to have enough donor to address the crown fully?
  7. Say it ain't so!! Actually. I was guessing around 2,000 for the crown as well and an additional 2000-2500 frontal and mid scalp. I think those numbers would be good to roll with. I think 3,000 is not sufficient, unless you plan on going in for a touch up in the following year or so.
  8. I think Dr. Rahal is a wonderful choice for a Doctor, but you have to also consider the excessive taxes that must be paid. Isn't it like 12% taxes for the surgery??? Correct me if I am wrong, please. However, with his travel benefit and his lower than average price per graft, he's a very good deal.
  9. I'm glad things were all cleared up. Now, relax and let the results show. Keep us updated!! I know I'll be keeping you all updated with my SMG results. Month 3 approaching quickly.
  10. Only 2-3 years??? I hope that isn't the case ^^. There are several cases on this website where patients came back after 10 years and still look great. There are also members on this site who have had surgeries longer than 5 years ago that look great. Theoretically, the hair should last almost forever.
  11. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171840-dr-paul-shapiro-8-mos-strip-result-3416gr-6674-hairs.html Look at that case, he has the "Pencil tip" micro irregularities as well that you can see in the photos, and his hairline looks incredible in the after results.
  12. I wouldn't let any Asian doctor perform FUE on me, personally. However, the only doctor whose results I've actually seen are Bhatti in India.
  13. You have a couple of good doctors in India and Dr. Path isn't too incredibly far away. About hair pieces? I'm not too sure, I think some people like them, others don't. They do get a bit expensive for a good one though and require monthly maintenance
  14. Looks like you had a bit of success .. The quality of the pictures is quite lacking.
  15. I didn't use MSM but I did use rogaine. I'm not sure how much it speeds things up, but I had little hairs popping up at 2 months. I'm at 2.75 months right now and I still have about the same as I did at 2.
  16. Are you talking about the little points in the hair that look like pencil tips? If so, that's completely normal to do. I had the exact same thing done. Dr. Ron is incredible with hairlines and I think you'll be plesently surprised when it grows in.
  17. I love seeing Dr. Paul results. It just makes me dream of the following five months! He had very good coverage for such a small hair/graft ratio. Good result guys. The only thing I would like to see are pre-op photos of similar length of post op
  18. Never heard of Jerry.. But it does rhyme with Larry.. What's up with all of the Shaprio's in the HT world???
  19. I've heard that added in deutasteride once a week, along with your daily finasteride, can significantly help regrew, stop the hairloss once the finasteride is no longer enough. It's worth a try.
  20. Okay, first of all. Welcome to the forum. Now, here comes the fun. Get on hair loss drugs such as finasteride/propecia (finasteride is the active ingredient and propecia is the name brand). Finasteride is significantly cheaper but you will have to cut the 5mg tablets into quarters, daily. Also invest in either generic Rogaine/name brand Rogaine liquid or foam. Obviously generic is cheaper. Also, you are going to want to avoid using body hair as your primary attack towards surgery because it has an overall cosmetically inferior look. Hairs, once transplanted, retain their characteristics from where they were extracted. That being said, you obviously aren't going to want a lot of leg hair growing on your head and you, nor chest hair. The most similar hair to scalp hair is beard hair. But as previously stated, you're going to want to hold off on that until you have exhausted your scalp hair. Now, here's where your work comes in. You need to search for a doctor that you will be able to work with. One of the biggest mistakes when people are new to the field is the jump in to a doctor that gives them a good price and is local. That's one of the biggest mistakes that you can make. You may be stuck with somebody who isn't primarily a hair restoration surgeon. Don't let money or location be a deciding factor!! Here is a good place to get started on your search. Hair Transplant Network - Find Hair Transplant Clinics and Doctors here you will be able to find doctors and see results they have put out. Once you have found a few that you like, consult with them. Keep in mind that you are fairly young and you will probably lose all of your hair if you don't get on drugs to stop it. You're going to have to take a very conservative approach in your hair restoration surgery if you are indeed a candidate. Let us know if you have any further questions.
  21. Congratulations!! Happy growing. Don't forget to keep us updated on the progress.
  22. I honestly don't think that implanter pens were even available when that section of their website was written Dr Doganay answered this question: Dr. Hakan, many people say that the lateral slit technique with custom blades gives a fuller hair transplant result because of the inclined angle of the graft which requires fewer grafts for a good result as it creates a greater illusion of density. How about your technique? How can you give a full result using the choi implanter pen? I heard that with it, the grafts could only be vertical which is somehow similar to sagittal slit technique. Do you have any special technique with the Choi that works as well as lateral? Thanks. With the Choi implanter technique, we use small pens. By using these pens, the angles of the follicular unit grafts can be changed easily. Therefore, a doctor can get results similar to the results of the lateral slit technique or sagittal slit technique depending on the doctor’s experience. The most important thing in the Choi technique is the experience of the hair restoration physician. One of the reasons why we use the Choi Implanter Technique is that implanting the grafts with appropriate angles is easy. And, this is one of the most important reasons why we are getting very natural results, even with a small number of grafts.
