I know that my updates are few and far between, but my life has be EXTREMELY busy to the point that I'm rarely home, and when I am, I have a million and a half other things to do. I haven't forgotten about this site, but have been unfortunately unable to update as much as I would have liked. I promise, more photos are coming soon. I have some on my camera that I still have to upldate prior to my haircut, and I would also like to show what it looks like post haircut (still need to take those pictures). Stay tuned. Lorenzo is hands down the best FUE surgeon in the world. That said, his prices also reflect that title. Bisanga and Feriduni are also incredible, and less expensive than Lorenzo. Erdogan and Doganay produce indredible results and are also significantly less expensive. If your budget allows it, go Lorenzo, if it doesn't, go for one of the others. If you are a person on an average person's income, your best choice will be Doganay or Erdogan. They are, in my opinion, just as good as the Belgian doctors.

I think that at this point, this patient would do very well with some concealers. I mean, he has the coverage, and a decent density -- it's just that his density isn't enough to hide the skin/hair contrast. I would love to see what he could look like with concealers.

I dunno, I'm torn on this. On one hand, he has good coverage, but on the other hand, it's too thin for my liking. Yes, he did have a lot of field to cover, but at a certain point I don't feel that hair transplantation is the best option. When someone has great coverage but low density, it starts to look unnatural. Maybe this is just my opinion?

See, I take the whole genetics thing and throw it out the window. My mother and fathers side of the family have all great sets of hair. All of my cousins (And I think I have 40+ cousins) have great hair. My uncles have good hair, and my grandpa died with a full set of hair, yet, ever so oddly, I started losing hair before I turned 18..... If I were you, I would still get on finasteride. It may not do the most for you, but you never know, it could get you some back and significantly thicken up what hair you do have on the top and in the back.. Never know. It could save you thousands of grafts that would be on their way out. Better safe than sorry. I would disagree with addressing your crown too heavily. It's known as the black hole of hair transplantation for a reason -- you can put a lot of grafts there and it still looks questionable. I would worry about reshaping your face, adding a good amount of density on top and just adding a few grafts in back so you can conceal. You will save yourself thousands of dollars, you will have an overall better aesthetic look from in front, and your hair will be much denser.

I would avoid Dr. Diep if I was you. His results are good, but his tactics are questionable. If you're going FUE, don't stay in the USA. Go to Europe. Your money, time, emotions will be much more satisfied out there than any North American doctor will be able to offer you. If you're going strip, there are many doctors that I would consider in North America, but Dr. Diep is not one of them.

I agree moreso with H&W than Beehner. Most people want to address as much as possible at one time as possible. 1,500 will make a cosmetic difference, but probably not so much as to make you completely content. I would have guessed that you needed around 3,000-3,500 based on tha tpicture. However you could probably get away with 2,500 as well.

If I am not mistaken, immunoassays are used to test for drugs. Immunoassays are extremely sensitive to the molecular structure and would never mistake one compound for another, unless of course they have very similar structure. That being said, drug tests usually testing for very specific molecular structures on the drugs they are testing for, not all drugs. You're safe, relax.

A drug test? I don't think that a drug test is even testing for finasteride; it wouldn't even show up.....

I am such a fan of his angles, hairline designs and overall quality of work. Such an artist.

If I remember correctly, which may not be the case as I read his initial posts at like 4 AM, he stated that he was looking for a higher density coverage, meaning that he may not be able to address much on the crown. However, if his donor allows, I believe that he canget his crown covered with enough density to where a concealer could pick up for the lacking density and make it unnoticeable. Truth be told, the front is what people notice the most and I believe that's what this patient should focus on. He has a lot of reshaping to do because his sides have receded, but I believe for his goals he will be needed at least 6,000 grafts, obviously more being more desirable for anyone provided that money and donor are not an option.

I think that you've already gone past the point where finasteride and minoxidil would have been the most helpful, but it can't really get on it to see what happens. As far as graft count, you may need more than your donor has. 3,500? That seems like a really low number and I'm curious as to what they planned to achieve with that. I've seen reputable doctors throw 3,500 grafts in the crown and it still looks questionable. If I were in your particular case, I would throw about 5,500-6,000 to reshape face and add some density to back to where you can use concealer without it looking weird. That's just my opinion. I think that any less, and your density would be fulfilling. I had much less hair loss than you (although I didn't have a strong forelock), and I put in 3,222 and am still looking for more density.

Guys.. I sincerely apologize for my lack of updates. I have been going through so much in life lately that I haven't really even had a spare moment to even think about accessing this website. That being said, I would like to take a few minutes tonight to share some updated photos. For those of you who saw, I went to SMG in mid December for 6 month update photos. I will attach those pictures that were taken by Matt Zupan for you guys to see. Along with that, I will post 7.5 month update photos that I took myself. In a couple of days, I will be at my 9 month hairnaversary (hopefully I'll update again at that point). Hollllly cow, time does fly when you don't think about hair loss as much. Once again, please let me know what you guys think. For me, I Matt Zupan could do my hair every day for me. He does a great job showing you how to style your new hair, I can just never get it to look like he did.

. I saw my old roommates from 2010-11 school year and they were befuddled as to my hair. That's actually the first thing they said to me when they saw me. It's a good feeling, isn't it?

I was going to give the same overall opinionas Jotronic, who if you don't know who he is, is one of the most knowledgeable in the world on advice for hair transplantation. Don't be too eager to get the little amount of hair that you've lost back. Enjoy what you have, and if one day it does become a concern, then address it. Your hair is 100% fine and is already a dream result for 99% of the members on this forum. Nobody would give your hair a second glance, to be honest. You blend in with the non-folicularly challenged humans.

Thanks man, it's almost 7 months now. INSANE. Time flies by when you have some hair.. Maybe I shouldn't have done this after all, next week I'll be 80 years old!!!

I've got nothing to hide with my face. The reason we get hair transplants, more often than not, is to reshape our face. It's nice to see how it changes the overall look of someone once in a while. :cool: I am happy that the results have seemed to be on par with what I was expecting. I am still hoping for some thickening and maturing over the next several months, but overall, no complains as of now. Thank you . I'll continue to keep things updates. According to Dr. Paul and Matt, the scar is very faint and thin. I haven't been able to locate it myself and when buzzed to a 3, it was not even visible. I don't think I will ever need to go lower than a 3 though. Lol, never thought anybody would ever say that about me . THANKS!!

Alas!! Results!! For those of you who haven't been following my other thread, I will briefly sum up my case. I am 24 years old and have been losing my hair since I was about 16 or 17 years old. I first met with Matt Zupan at SMG when I was 21 years old and was prescribed finasteride. After about a year and a half, I stopped using it because I wasn't really feeling as though I was benefiting from it and felt some sexual side effects (or so I thought?) Growth exploded between 3-4 months and am happy with my current results. Of course I will always want more hair, but as you can tell from the photos, I am like a new guy. Both Dr. Paul and Matt assured that I still have about 5,000 grafts left in my donor to address future loss, but at this time, I'm not even thinking about another surgery. I am on medications and hoping that they halt my loss, or at least, slow it down extensively. At first, I was a little worried about the hair line, but it really doesn't bother me much anymore because the hair grown drapes down and lowers it a couple centimeters. Anyways, photos: Hair transplant 5-22-2013 with Dr. Paul Shapiro at Shapiro Medical Group Total grafts transplanted: 3222 *536 singles *1651 doubles * 961 triples, *74 quadruples. Sorry guys for the delayed update for those who are keeping track of my progress. I've been extremely busy with work, working two full time jobs and at the same time searching for a job that I actually use my college degree. That said, I'm extremely busy, but haven't forgot about the forum. Progress: There really hasn't been too much of a change since my last photos that I can tell, except what I had has gotten longer. I am still unsure as to the density in the front. It still looks wispy, and thin. I'm hoping that the next few months add to the coverage. Time will tell. I was waiting to post an update with pictures until I went to Shapiro Medical Group, but I don't know if I will be able to do that for a little while sadly. So I will get my own pictures and post them here, or in the results section (since now I can start to say that I have results) as soon as I have time, probably tomorrow night.
